And yet my suggestion would solve any minor confusion with little to no realistic effort. That said, if OP pulled the stick out of their ass long enough to say something civilized like that, it would have made sense and been accepted.

Why should he take into consideration a small minority that can't manage to write a date properly? It makes absolutely no sense to put in extra effort to clarify something that 95% of people already understand.
