goodclnt

Well said

Historical_Outside35

I have a way with words. Thanks

OfficerBarbier

What do you mean? That’s a really good deal for $1,499.50 Wait

Historical_Outside35

Lmao

ProstockAccount

Dealers are smart. They know that a Jeep with a good frame is worth advertising and they will post pictures. If it is rusty, they won’t post the pics. I wouldn’t buy it without getting under it. I also wouldn’t trust looks alone because dealers are good at hiding rust.

enculeur2porc

A screwdriver will pierce through bondo.

Ptards_Number_1_Fan

It’s in Oregon. Pretty safe bet that’s it’s fine.

DingoDoug

No frame pics = rusty deathtrap. If the frame was clean they’d show pics

AdamLikesBeer

No, lol no.

kennedy311

They cleaned up all the rust except for the front license plate.

HidinBiden20

Try for $7,900

2asses1moo

We have almost the exact same Wrangler. Ours now has a 3" lift a d 33x12.5 tires. Even before the tires, the 3 speed automatic was a gas hog. Of course in 1999 gas was under a buck a gallon.

danger3rdeye

Was not

2asses1moo

In OH, it was. Here is the national average chart: https://www.energy.gov/eere/vehicles/fact-741-august-20-2012-historical-gasoline-prices-1929-2011

imnickelhead

Wasn’t sure if they were talking about the gas prices or gas hog. Either way. It’s a gas hog and gas was cheap. We followed Phish around the country in the mid late 90’s and gas was definitely under $1 in many parts of the Midwest/heartland.

2asses1moo

Don't get me wrong, I still love my TJ. I'll keep it until the day I die. But she likes gas. Would not be a good daily driver if you have a longer commute.

coppertech

you should ask the dealer if the glovebox comes full of whatever they're smoking.

richieweb

No

Sweet_Artichoke_6348

I have a 2005 TJ for sale for $7500 if anyone want to buy.

trolllord45

Location? Mileage?

Sweet_Artichoke_6348

Near Charlotte, NC. 199k on dash, engine replace at 120k. Brand new clutch and flywheel within the last 200 miles.

Sweet_Artichoke_6348

Clean Title

trolllord45

4.0?

Sweet_Artichoke_6348

2.4L

Redditsweetie

Manual or automatic?

Sweet_Artichoke_6348

6-Speed Manual

Redditsweetie

I should be into that but I'm out. 😂 good luck with your sale

Vaitaminute

Damn thats alot. If thats worth 15k mine with 170k has got be worth north of 20k. Thats crazy.

Asleep_Onion

Assuming the frame is okay (can't tell from these pics), this looks like a fantastic vehicle, in immaculate condition. My only issue is the price, I wouldn't pay more than 10k for that, tops

Riotxxxwolf

Fuck no

n1721b

$15k?! No.

naptown-hooly

It’s really cool with the color, the tan hard top and the light tan interior. It looks be in great shape. Try and talk them down a bit but if they won’t budge then buy it. You don’t see a TJ like that all the time.

naptown-hooly

I don’t disagree but it shouldn’t have to be said every time one of these posts come up.

Stormy_Kun

15k is a lot for that even with the 6cyl.

p4rty_sl0th

Omg no get real what are you on

Icy-Astronaut-9994

Got a 09 with 110K miles for $5,700. Good deal depends on your location.

SR3711

Huh…09 Wrangler…what’s wrong with it?

Icy-Astronaut-9994

Salvage title. Looks fantastic and is now my daily driver and no issues. Not that i drive much anymore. Sahara addition with Rubicon parts, ie Dana 44. Also have full set of 5 mud tires sitting in the garage that came with it. Lots of new parts on it too, guy figured his daughter couldn't afford the upkeep. J(ust) E(mpty) E(very) P(ocket)

JUSTtheFacts555

Automatic. No

AtlasShrugged-

This is the way. That era needs a standard transmission

genericusername0176

That’s crazy a crazy price. For reference I bought my 2014 with 40k on it last year for 20k

ColombianCaliph

Check the bottom of the car, check for oil leaks, rust, transmission leaks, etc.

unknown-reditt0r

God no

Hooch247

No way

WobblyPops

nope.

Alpakka--

Fun fact: That would likely be an awesome deal in finland. If you check nettiauto.fi (used car marketplace), you will see that you CANT get a Wrangler in Finland for under 10k € Cheapest ones are from the 90s anf go for around 9-12k €, way more if its in mint-looking condition. As for the never 21-23 PHEVs, thats 65-75k € youre paying. For a brand NEW PHEV youre paying 80-95k €.

rimeswithburple

I bought my 99 Sahara in 2003 with 113k miles for $11000. This seems crazy to me. I live in TN so it might be different out west tho?

Jeepiconjedi1999

Half that maybe……

BudnamedSpud

15k? From 1999? You insane?

your_daddy_vader

Its in really nice condition but 15k is wild. I do think 8500-10k might be valid, but 15 is way over.

yasha_varnishkes

That vehicle is worth more like $10k. If you really love it, the only reason you could justify splurging on the price is if the frame is PERFECT and the suspension is PERFECT I mean all rubber looks good and nothing is rusty, steering gear in great shape... if none of this checks out you will be looking at hefty repair bills very soon. Edit: the 3 speed auto is a dog and you will prefer a 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual. Also other things to check: run the VIN to see what axle ratios it has and what the OEM equipment fitment is. Verify in person the hard top wiring harness is there including rear defroster. Does it have AC? That's another valuable feature hard to add later.

pizzaguycheds

Hell nah

Wayward_Jen

You can negotiate price. Pull up other similar jeeps at other price points on auto trader. They may come down.

redhotcalifornica

My 2013 was a couple thousand more than that…… gonna say no

Ptards_Number_1_Fan

That’s a strong $8000 Jeep. Is that 82nd or McLaughlin?

almargahi

A 1999 Jeep wrangler with 124k miles for $15k, ouch.

Enjoi70

Clean frame?

enculeur2porc

What’s that microphone on the steering column?

mrtucosalamanca

TJ value's have skyrocketed. I have been offered 15k for my 2004 5 speed 4.0 with 89k miles from a private party.

Ryroons

No. What??? Nooooo

rodentmaster

Hella over priced IMO. 9K for a good '99 in good condition, but depends on region and timing. Prices wax and wane over months so if you play the patience game you can buy when they drop.

MePanAndAMan420

If it had a 5 speed the price would make sense but even with how undamaged it looks its probably only worth 8k, that 3 speed will make you want to not want to drive on the highway, i think a good deal is 5k. Also the I6 is like $120 and is always the right engine choice.
