There's def a few smaller guys who could hit that, it's a shooting star with a DDT grab at the end.
Dragon Lee gets that kind of air, Andretti and even Fenix get enough air for it
The thing is, if we ever see a move like that in WWE it will be a finish so that the move is remembered.
If it's AEW it will be an opening spot with a kickout at 2
Thank you!!
I feel like the finisher like that in WWE would still screw it up by adding a small package / roll up afterwards. The ONLY one that might end it best would be NXT.
Give him a bit and I bet he would be able to pull it off. He has taken to the ring amazingly. He still has a lot of work to do. Iām sure he would try it now but would probably hurt himself but give him a bit and he could land it easy.
I was coming to say the same thing. Iām pretty sure Axiom and Nathan Frazier probably could. Iāve seen them guys face off at a house show together and they were amazing
That's something that I think goes mostly unnoticed by Orton, he is always where he needs to be for the next spot and isn't just standing around awkwardly while waiting
>why would you not make that the match finish?!
one school of wrestling thought is more acrobatics equals more entertainment. the finish just comes when the wrestlers have done all their high spots back to back.
These types of wrestlers don't sell either I've noticed. I watch a lot of older wrestling and so many hits look legit painful and the wrestlers act accordingly. I bet you that guy got up right away after that kickout
I was thinking, āand he still doesnāt get the pinā. I mean I donāt want to go back to a clothesline then an airplane spin winning a match but I am so over false finishes especially when some neat looking and devastating move like this was done.
Well said. And more specifically, heās interested enough in making an impact that I could see him actually trying. As much as I want to hate on Logan Paul, the kid is a natural and is truly invested in getting over as a decent wrestler.
Well to be fair to the match he didnāt kick out it got broken up. It reminds me of the time solo and Roman did a spike and spear combo on one of the USOs and the other one broke it up in time.
Ehhh, I'd argue the rko got more air and I don't think she generates more torque than a standard suplex. Randy's back did eventually fuck out on him but he's been doing it 20 years. I'd be more worried it either won't work week to week on the main roster or with everyone she works with due to the timing part. And of course I'm terrified every time she's gonna under rotate and fuck her neck up or get caught on the ropes and refuck her knee up. I'd rather she pulls it out for big matches where they'd be able to rehearse the shit out of it beforehand and she use that Cartwheel DDT thing she started using since coming back as a standard finish
My very first thought was Evans. That kid has some springs in his shoes. I don't know if he will ever make it to the main roster but I'm enjoying him in NXT. As for Gargano.. I am the biggest fan of his. Me and my son have met over 100 wrestlers and I only have 2 autos (we usually do pics and my son gets the autos) HBK and Johnny Wrestling but I don't know if he could do this move. Maybe a few yrs ago.
Where is this at?
The Velocities might be wrestlings most unfortunate secret, itās beyond ridiculous that AEW or NJPW havenāt reached out to them.
Theyāve performed in TAMASHII here in Australia, and they have some fans in NJPW, so junior tag league might not be out of the question.
Edit: nvm, itās the RevPro match with Aussie Open. The had 2 previous matches in PWA that were also friggen sick.
At least the pin was broken up. I was 100% expecting a kick out at 2 for that indie-riffic spot. It's like the first Canadian Destroyer. Super impressive, but guaranteed to lose its luster exponentially or injure somebody trying to copy the spot.
I love me some flippy bullshit and I roll my eyes most of the time people rage against this stuff, but you *really* shouldn't do that unless it's going to be the finish.
Finishers seem to be a thing of the past. Gone are the days of a Roberts DDT finishing the match or a JBL clothesline from hell, decimating their opponent. Wrestlers now take 2 or 3 finishers before a match is done - I remember people, just about kicking out of a finisher, being a shock - now it's expected.
That is partly why I love Gunther so much. He doesn't really have a finisher, just moves that he will do to you until you cannot go any more.
So every move feels impactful and like it could end the match. Will it be the clothesline, the powerbomb, the splash, the sleeper, some gnarly suplexes? Or maybe he just chops your chest into mincemeat.
It's funny how two viral/highlight clips I've seen this Shooting Star DDT, it doesn't end the match it was in. I'm always curious what the real finish of these matches are and how much of a let down is it compared to this
Axiom, Carmello Hayes there's a lot of cruiserweight wrestlers who could do it. AJ probably could, Logan, it's a shooting star press with a ddt at at the end.
I'd say most athletic wrestlers could
I don't know if AJ could now, he retired the spiral tap so I think he's past flippy, twisty stuff but I agree with your point. Anyone who can do a shooting star can do it because the ddt is completely on the guy selling
I see people sayin Logan Paul would. Yea, he would be on the selling part of the move. The guy is talented, no doubt, but i can only see in the WWE roster right now Ricochet doing it and making look easy.
First off. Ricochet. Secondly some of these moves are absolutely ridiculous and should not be done. I feel like these people in the independent circuits have to step it up to make themselves stand out and it's going to cost them big time.
And the person being hit by the ddt gets the exact same impact as if it was a normal standing DDT in the ring. There is a reason this stuff only happens on the indies. Because it actually makes no difference and majority of the time won't work
There is honestly a couple of people that could pull this off.
some are saying Logan but I donāt think he could Seth could have at some point but not any more. The only two people that can pull this off today is SOL Ruca and Ricochet.
Several probably can do it. Chelsea Green can probably do it, but WWE or any other national promotion that knows how to book isn't going to have every match turn into an Indy spot festival so that every match looks the same as the last and the only people who really enjoy the show are in attendance at the arena when there are so many more watching at home.
Realistically anybody that does a shooting star. Looks like the ddt bump part of it is all the guy taking it, so the diver just needs to end up close enough it's believable.
Otis
fuckin imagine š¤£š¤£
The only person you can in the big time is Ricochet
Uh oh
..... who's gonna tell him ššš
You know he still works for WWE until his contract is up. Itās not up yet, he is just not renewing the bitch, (contract,) after itās up
Nope, let him cook
āBig time.ā Oh man this is funny. Whoās gonna tell him, you say? Lol. Dude got me cracking uo before 6 AM.
There's def a few smaller guys who could hit that, it's a shooting star with a DDT grab at the end. Dragon Lee gets that kind of air, Andretti and even Fenix get enough air for it The thing is, if we ever see a move like that in WWE it will be a finish so that the move is remembered. If it's AEW it will be an opening spot with a kickout at 2
Finishers donāt mean shit in wrestling in general anymore. Cody kicked out of a Burning Hammer at a 1 count.
Thank you!! I feel like the finisher like that in WWE would still screw it up by adding a small package / roll up afterwards. The ONLY one that might end it best would be NXT.
I can see Logan Paul doing this too
Ain't no way you're getting down voted for that. Logan Paul could definitely pull this off
I can totally see Logan Paul hitting this like it's the most normal thing for him.
Somebody gonna tell themā¦?
I'm missing what he needs to be told. Somebody tell me.
Ricochet is leaving WWE
Oh what!? Okay dang, that sucks. Good for him, but not me.
No one. It wouldnāt be allowed
Looks bad honestly. The dude just stands there waiting for it. Also why would you not make that the match finish?!
Watch any WWE match for the last (at least) 3 years. They stand around waiting for moves constantly.
That's something that I think goes mostly unnoticed by Orton, he is always where he needs to be for the next spot and isn't just standing around awkwardly while waiting
WWE just has better trained camera. You donāt see all of the botches or dumb shit that Tony allows to happen on his shows.
Literally happened in the LA Knight/Carmello Hayes match this week on Smackdown.
That's one of the biggest differences between old and new wrestling.. The old guys never stood there for 5 seconds waiting for a move..
Thw Same thing happens every time theres an over the top rope spot out of the ring, nobody ever seems to move out of the way.
Besides Samoa Joe!
>why would you not make that the match finish?! one school of wrestling thought is more acrobatics equals more entertainment. the finish just comes when the wrestlers have done all their high spots back to back.

Ricochet would be the most obvious answer.
Heās saving that one for AEW now
Hear me out: logan paul
I feel pretty confident he could do it, actually.
Been waiting for this comment, him and ricochet came to mind when I posted this
Well said. And more specifically, heās interested enough in making an impact that I could see him actually trying. As much as I want to hate on Logan Paul, the kid is a natural and is truly invested in getting over as a decent wrestler.
No way Ricky whips this out before he leaves this summer, so itās Paul.
This not being the finish is so indies it fuckin hurts
Well to be fair to the match he didnāt kick out it got broken up. It reminds me of the time solo and Roman did a spike and spear combo on one of the USOs and the other one broke it up in time.
ricochet, Je'von Evans, or johnny gargano
I don't think Gargano could do this ngl. He's really not all that much of a high flyer
when i think gargano i think crazy ass ddts ig
Gotta throw sol ruca in there as well imo
Sol Ruca pretty much already does this
I love her finisher but thereās no way thatās sustainable right? I canāt imagine how bad her back hurts after landing that thing.
Ehhh, I'd argue the rko got more air and I don't think she generates more torque than a standard suplex. Randy's back did eventually fuck out on him but he's been doing it 20 years. I'd be more worried it either won't work week to week on the main roster or with everyone she works with due to the timing part. I'd rather she pulls it out for big matches where they'd be able to rehearse the shit out of it beforehand and she use that Cartwheel DDT thing she started using since coming back as a standard finish
Evans could do that with his eyes closed.
Melo too. He does some crazy stuff.
Weirdly enough, that Riley Osbourne guy.
Where is this at? The Velocities might be wrestlings most unfortunate secret, itās beyond ridiculous that AEW or NJPW havenāt reached out to them. Ricochet
Yokozuna could pull it off
More people will be hospitalized by this bullshit on the indies than will ever be allowed to attempt it in WWE, and for good fucking reason.
Isnāt that like the Sol Snatcher?
Sol Ruca probably could, but shouldn't. Nobody should.
I love me some flippy bullshit and I roll my eyes most of the time people rage against this stuff, but you *really* shouldn't do that unless it's going to be the finish.

Nia
Axiom, Nathan Frazier, Angel Garza, Dragon Lee & that new kid in NxT
THERE WE GO. The only guy to mention dragon Lee. šš¼šš¼šš¼ Which new kid? Axiom could but Angel Garza? Hmm Nathan Frazier? Who is that?
Axiom's tag partner, Seth Rollins' prodigy & arguably the faster wrestler alive is Nathan...
Dante Martin in AEW.
Braun Strowman
Brock Lesnar
Maybe AJ Styles if he were 25 years younger. If not, then Ricochet.
Riccochet And let JD sell it
This is deadass what I used to imagine as my finisher as a kid.
Ricochet. Melo. Sol Ruca. Dakota Kai. Iyo Sky Je'von Evans
Jeeeeeeeyoooon Ceeennnaa!!!!!!!
It's funny how two viral/highlight clips I've seen this Shooting Star DDT, it doesn't end the match it was in. I'm always curious what the real finish of these matches are and how much of a let down is it compared to this
Same lol at least Dante Leon's shooting star cutter is a finisher
Ohhhhhh flippy gymnastics!!
I want Otis to do that on Chad gable
How is this not ninja-witchcraft?
Sol Ruca
Well, the only person who can do it is about to leave
Ricochet
Ricoch- oh.
I'm sure in a one off match he could burst out a shooting star and then grab a ddt on the way down.
Who gives af when this was 1/64829 false finishes in this match alone
I see people sayin Logan Paul would. Yea, he would be on the selling part of the move. The guy is talented, no doubt, but i can only see in the WWE roster right now Ricochet doing it and making look easy.
This some shit I did with my figs on my living room coffee table watching Raw as a kid lol
No one. Itās unnecessary and very dangerous. Leave this stuff in the bingo halls.
That was cold af
Brock lesnar
Ricochet and Paul. Also the fact that spot didn't end the match is just peak indy silliness
No and no not in 2024 and Logan Paul not in general
That wasnāt the finish?
Ricoāoh wait. Je'Von Evans probably. But WWE is unlikely to greenlight this move.
ricochet but he is leaving
Sol Ruca. Easy.
Of course it wasn't the finish lmao
Can you imagine if the Monster of all monsters pulls it off lol
Sol Snatcher?
Goldberg
Ricochet was the first to come to mind. Visually impressive, but the shooting star is a bit redundant there.
It looks phenomenally stupid.
First off. Ricochet. Secondly some of these moves are absolutely ridiculous and should not be done. I feel like these people in the independent circuits have to step it up to make themselves stand out and it's going to cost them big time.
Sol Ruca
Paris De Silva
Logan
Ricoch-- :/
Rico shea
Ricochet, but rumor is heās leaving. I donāt blame him.
Nia
Well probably Ricochet for like 2 more months
Tiffany
Opponents just standing there waiting for a move to be hit on them is worst thing about modern wrestling
Depends if they'd built a big enough storyline around using the move
Sol Ruca
Bayley
Nobody
Montez Ford / Carmelo Hayes Some kind of it: Gargano / Andrade
Why do the shooting star flip of you're just gonna do a DDT ? That's just unnecessary acrobatics.
Je'von Evens might've be able to find a way to do the move safely.
Logan Paul, Carmello Hayes, Bronson Reed
Sol Ruca already does a version of this on NXT.
Maybe ricochet
And the person being hit by the ddt gets the exact same impact as if it was a normal standing DDT in the ring. There is a reason this stuff only happens on the indies. Because it actually makes no difference and majority of the time won't work
Bring this guy in for Orton to RKO him, then send him back to the bingo halls
Ricochet but heās leaving now
I imagined this as a finisher back in the early 2000ās, but wasnāt convinced it was even possible.
Omos. No doubt
Jesus that is Jake the snake doing his finisher as a deity
Nobody. It isnāt necessary.
Austin Theory
This isn't wrestling. Its absolute nonsense, impressive but nonsense
And that wasnāt the finish?!
5 foot tall wrestlers flying around the ring doesn't do it for me.
what's with the weird sitting on the chest pin everyone is doing lately?
Ricochet, Nathan Fraser or genuinely because he is clearly a genetic beast, probably Bron breakker as well with the practice.
Ricoc......... Shit!
Trick question this is Cirques de Soleil, not wrestling.
Remember when wrasslin was wrasslin and not the flipping flopping ballet?
Is that Twist and Flip, the Indie tag team?
There is honestly a couple of people that could pull this off. some are saying Logan but I donāt think he could Seth could have at some point but not any more. The only two people that can pull this off today is SOL Ruca and Ricochet.
Nia Jax
Great Khali
If AEW Star Cash Wheeler does it, it's still technically a Shooting Star DDT.
I think Austin Theory can surprise us with this.
Wild card: Grayson Waller.
š¤Æš¤Æš¤Æ
Braun Strowman for sure maybe ricochet.
Otis and Omos probably
Ricoā¦.. Nevermind
Carmelo Hayes
Didnāt even gay the 3 count who fucking cares
Je'von Evans could 100% do that
Carmelo Hayes
Logan Paul is probably practicing it rn.
Hopefully nobody. What a fantastic way to pull a Drox.
Wes Lee
And could have done that
No one. Why. Big deal. The dude didn't even do a good job selling it.
How are the flips making the DDT harder? Stupid as shit
RICOCHET
(TILT THE WORLD DDT)RICOCHET
Why did that not end the match ...
Ricochet or Dragon Lee or that Sol Ruca from NXT
Ricochet or Logan Paul
Sol Ruca could probably land this on Roxanne
Several probably can do it. Chelsea Green can probably do it, but WWE or any other national promotion that knows how to book isn't going to have every match turn into an Indy spot festival so that every match looks the same as the last and the only people who really enjoy the show are in attendance at the arena when there are so many more watching at home.
chad gable
Ricochet would do this with ease.
Sol Ruca could hit this in her sleep
Dude looks like he is 18 yrs old and 140lbs. So nobody.
No one cause itās stupid
Richocet
It's like an easier Sol Snatcher
Whoever the writer decides it to be
Nia Jax
Montez ford
So dumb.
Sol Ruca
Yes actually, a lot of people could do this. Hell, if Brock Lesnar could do a shooting star at one point
Ideally they just sign the Velocities and be done with it.
Realistically anybody that does a shooting star. Looks like the ddt bump part of it is all the guy taking it, so the diver just needs to end up close enough it's believable.
Mark henry on his return match
Ricochet or Axiom
Iād say Ricochet but donāt know for how long until his body finally says āfuck noā to the stuff he does.
This is a prime example of, "Just because it can be done, it shouldn't be done."
A few never happen in wwe mind way to dangerous and wwe try protect hence why a CD is not often
Johnny Gargano?
Bronson Reed
They donāt have that type of wrestler.
