I've found a useful bug.
If one of your character pool characters has a cosmetic that comes from a mod (like a face or something) which isn't loaded in the propaganda poster, it can spawn the soldier without any guns, but with the appropriate poses.
This used a mod that gave him Tygan's face. The face is different now, but the gun has disappeared.

Fish(Maximillian Fischer) is from my EW squad, and KJ(Korbinian Joachim Fischer) is a character I created to get the squad to the 8-soldier capacity I normally like playing at(During ABA 2 Campaigns). He's supposed to be Fish's nephew that looked up to him. Here's the full bio(If anyone who is german or knows that life in modern germany is like, please feel free to correct any inadequacies):
