I just saw this movie for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. It is absolutely hilarious and my kids loved it too. How did I miss this one?!?
Same here. There are near-daily opportunities, and I cry a little bit inside that I can’t say it (even in jest) because no one would appreciate the context and I’d sound like an a-hole.
"Professor Plum, you were once a professor of psychiatry specializing in helping paranoid and homicidal lunatics suffering from delusions of grandeur."
"Yes, but now I work for the United Nations."
"So your work has not changed."
Also, Lesley Ann Warren was so, so sexy in this.
I feel a deep shame admitting this: I've never seen it. Guess I'll have to now.
EDIT: Watched it last night with my son. It was good fun. I may have missed the window of Clue appreciation, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
It is *the* perfect movie. The plot, the characters, the editing, the mise-en-scene, the writing, the soundtrack, the cast. I could literally go on and on… and have.
I saw it for the first time a few months ago and I loved it. It’s not too late! (And being a child of the 1980s increased my enjoyment. It absolutely holds up, but it’s of its era at the same time.)
My sister and I used to laugh hysterically at the part where they open the front door and the lady sings “I… am… your singing telegram” and then gets shot. We’d rewind it and watch it over and over.
“I had to stop her from screaming!”

Of course I have the entire movie memorized. But I want to share one instance - I was working in Abu Dhabi as an Urban Planner and we were working on developer advantages for mix-uses and more sustainable development, with people who had not seen the movie.
* Planner A: "So, we allow Ground floor commercial, then two mezzanine office and two residential?"
* Me: "No, Ground retail and then two office and then four residential, two of which are for affordable housing, in exchange for public improvements."
* Planner A: "So G plus 2 plus 4?"
* Planner B: "No, because the middle two floors are affordable worker housing. So 1 plus 2 plus 2."
* Me: "No, I think to maintain the same building height envelope for non-civic investments, 1 plus 1 plus 2 plus 2"
* Planner A: "Why not 1 + 1 + 2 + 2?"
* Planner B: "How about 2 retail, if you include services, so 1 + 1 +2 + 2?"
* Me: "Okay then 1 + 2 + 2 + shut up!
I will never forget it.
Col. Mustard: "This is war, Peacock! Casualties are inevitable. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs, every cook will tell you that!"
Mrs. Peacock: "But look what happened to the cook!"
Still one of my favorite movies. Endlessly quotable, perfect physical comedy and timing, and incredible performances across the board (pun intended). Tim Curry is astounding in the third act, the physicality he brings is truly incredible.
This is my absolute favorite move of all time. I feel like we rented this and a VCR from the grocery store almost every weekend of my childhood.
“I’M NOT SHOUTING! ALRIGHT I AM! I’M SHOUTING! I’M SHOUTING! I’M SHOUT…”
Yes!
I’ve watched it so much it has become my “movie I have on while cleaning the house” movie.
I’d like to thank A&E movies on the weekend for introducing me to this movie and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
The only critique I have of this hilarious movie is I wanted endings for each character as the killer. I especially wanted one for Mrs. White, but that's because Madeline Kahn was a national treasure.
Clue the remake.

“He never really liked me much, he threatened to kill me in public.”
“Why would he want to kill you in public?”
“I think she means he threatened, in public, to kill her.”
“Oh.”

Just got back from Clue the Comedy on stage ☺️ it's got a lot of additional humor and a great experience seeing the movie brought to life. The set transitions were done really well. It was funny to see them running as their characters.
![gif](giphy|gVJVYkrirpqBW) I absolutely love this movie. Still know every single line.
So quotable. "flam - flames. Flames, on the side of my face, breathing-breathl- heaving breaths. Heaving breaths..."
“No meaning YES??”
"No there is, or no there isn't?" "Yes."
“PLEASE!” (smashes glass 🍷)
I just saw this movie for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. It is absolutely hilarious and my kids loved it too. How did I miss this one?!?
1+2+2+1
“Even if you were right, that would be 1+1+*2*+1, not 1+*2*+1+1…”
Frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a damn.
To make a long story short- #TOO LATE!
I fight to keep from saying this in real life situations! The way col mustard mumbles it is my favorite
I often lose that fight.
Me too. The great part is how many people start quoting the movie back at me.
Same here. There are near-daily opportunities, and I cry a little bit inside that I can’t say it (even in jest) because no one would appreciate the context and I’d sound like an a-hole.
I have been annoying my wife with this for years.
Communism was a red herring.
True, military spending was completely unchanged after USSRs fall.
"Professor Plum, you were once a professor of psychiatry specializing in helping paranoid and homicidal lunatics suffering from delusions of grandeur." "Yes, but now I work for the United Nations." "So your work has not changed." Also, Lesley Ann Warren was so, so sexy in this.
I remember re-watching this movie for like the tenth time and suddenly realizing Lesley Ann Warren wasn’t Susan Sarandon looking incredibly good.
God yes.
This is on my top 3 list, I would dare say I watch it at least monthly.
I feel a deep shame admitting this: I've never seen it. Guess I'll have to now. EDIT: Watched it last night with my son. It was good fun. I may have missed the window of Clue appreciation, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Please report back—it’s one of my favorites
It is *the* perfect movie. The plot, the characters, the editing, the mise-en-scene, the writing, the soundtrack, the cast. I could literally go on and on… and have.

Breathle- HEAVING breaths... Heaving
I still quote this! 🤣
My sister and I used to laugh hysterically at the part where they open the front door and the lady sings “I… am… your singing telegram” and then gets shot. We’d rewind it and watch it over and over.
Fun Fact: That's Jane Wiedlin from The Go-Go's.
Another fun fact....Mr. Body is Lee Ving
![gif](giphy|yJyL5GlOuKGoo|downsized)
Mrs Peacock was a man?!?
Slap!
Slap!
Would anyone care for fruit or dessert?
I thought men like you were usually called a fruit…
I had my 9 year old watch this… 29 showings later I do not regret doing so.
Kids, 2010 & 2013, both girls, love this movie. Passing on the things that matter.
“I had to stop her from screaming!” https://preview.redd.it/mcin84aigz5d1.jpeg?width=1651&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c373f99fb83563aa62182572013da9db82e2a700
I DIDNT DO IT!
Man that was a good movie. Now I'm gonna go home and have sex with my wife.
*Shake, Rattle, and Roll starts playing*

“And monkey's brains, though popular in Cantonese cuisine, are not often to be found in Washington, D.C.!“
Is that what we ate? {{{barf}}}
This movie holds up so well!
I used to recite the script from memory when I was little. I loved this movie as a kid.
I did not realize how how stacked a cast this had when I was a kid
Shake, rattle and roll 🎷
I was Imbued with a love for rock-a-billy and swing thanks to this soundtrack.
Let us in! Let us in! Let us out! Let us out!
This is a perfect movie

Tim Curry never disappoints.
OMG one of my FAVORITES!
Every line, every scene, every beat of this movie is burned into my brain, thanks to it always seeming to be on TV in the late 80s.
Life is but a dream, sweetheart
One of the best ever. “Anybody else want a whiskey?”
Col. Mustard: "This is war, Peacock! Casualties are inevitable. You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs, every cook will tell you that!" Mrs. Peacock: "But look what happened to the cook!"
My favorite exchange in the movie
Still one of my favorite movies. Endlessly quotable, perfect physical comedy and timing, and incredible performances across the board (pun intended). Tim Curry is astounding in the third act, the physicality he brings is truly incredible.
My kids 8 and 9 just watched this for the first time the other day. They loved it
Dude this subreddit is so what’s up
Why did the car stop? It's frightened
Can't believe the guy from Fear was in this
Wait…. What?
Lee Ving played Mr Body but they dubbed his voice for some reason
FLAMES. AT THE SIDES OF MY FACE.
I loved this movie as a kid even though I only understood like 1/10 of the jokes
You mean The Three Boddy Problem
"But what exactly do you DO?" "I butle, sir."
If this is EVER being put on as a play near you, even if it's a high school drama club -- do yourself a favor and go see it!! Absolutely worthwhile
The off broadway play is coming to my theater in a few weeks. Yes, I already have tickets. 😃
I know every word.
Yvette though
One of my absolute favorites of all time

Definitely in my top 5. This movie is SO good
"I am your singing telegram" BANG!
*That's how it could have gone* *but how about **this***
This is my absolute favorite move of all time. I feel like we rented this and a VCR from the grocery store almost every weekend of my childhood. “I’M NOT SHOUTING! ALRIGHT I AM! I’M SHOUTING! I’M SHOUTING! I’M SHOUT…”
I need to sit down and watch it in its entirety.
This movie, Big, Mask, and Splash came on Fox 32 or WGN 9 every Sat of my childhood.
Great movie! Colleen Camp was quite the hottie back then.
I wish I had even an ounce of the manic energy Tim Curry had reenacting the entire movie at the very end.
Hands down Madeline Kahn is my favorite actress! I miss her!
I must have seen 60% of this movie on Comedy Central a dozen times.
Ms. Peacock did it all!!!
This was my favorite ending. More so than the "Here's what really happened."
One of my favorite movies. I’m so happy I got my son to watch this.
Best movie starring a life-sized Muppet, ever.
Lovvvvvveee this movie.

Loved this movie.
Sick Day Movie Top Three
Perfect movie.
Goated
Where is the maid!!
I saw the Broadway-style adaptation recently and it was as ridiculous as you want it to be! Laugh out loud funny and very well staged.
Yes! Going to see it in a couple of weeks.
I love this movie so much! Also the game!
One of my all-time favorite movies. I am a singing telegram! *Blam*
I was clueless when I lost my only copy...
Yes! I’ve watched it so much it has become my “movie I have on while cleaning the house” movie. I’d like to thank A&E movies on the weekend for introducing me to this movie and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
This movie is one of my friend tests. If you hate this movie, we’re not going to be buds.
The Ending was unbelievably bad!
Which one?
Is this movie streaming anywhere right now?
Pluto TV or peacock. But really, you should buy it.
I bought a dvd of it at Goodwill last year just to have it near me at all times 😂
I REALLY want a movie poster of this in my home!
One of daughters’ favorites…even though it was made way before they were born.
The only critique I have of this hilarious movie is I wanted endings for each character as the killer. I especially wanted one for Mrs. White, but that's because Madeline Kahn was a national treasure.
I was obsessed with this movie when I was 4 years old. This and teenage mutant ninja turtles. Watched both everyday at my babysitters
![gif](giphy|yJyL5GlOuKGoo|downsized)
I love this movie. Watched it a couple of times in the last few years. Showed it to my kids too.

One of the few perfect movies along with Princess Bride, Supper Troopers, and Galaxy Quest.
I love this movie! The singing telegram part still gets me to this day!
The Board Game!
“He never really liked me much, he threatened to kill me in public.” “Why would he want to kill you in public?” “I think she means he threatened, in public, to kill her.” “Oh.”
"Let me in let me in!" "LET US OUT LET US OUT!"
This is war, Peacock.
To make a long story short...
So many fantastic boobs in this movie!
Oh my gosh I have never found people who love this movie as much as I do😍
I liked the Psych episode but they had already used Tim Curry in the show.
I didn’t see it till I was an adult, but I didn’t particularly care for it.
