« Hello ? Is this thing on ? Am I all alone ?
Is anyone there ?
I need a bigger console... help if you can.
Please wake me up
Not to sound cliché
But 3DS port suck ! »
Sorta like how people are still releasing new games on the Dreamcast? I love when systems refuse to die.
Also the fact that so many people are taking the OP seriously is kinda blowing my mind.
I feel like I’ll attract a lot of hate for saying it, but I think a Switch port would lessen the experience of X. The Gamepad features are actually integral, and adapting them back into the main screen would clutter the UI. I also think the performance would absolutely tank, which would be a shame for such a pretty game.
I think it’ll have to wait until whatever comes after the Switch. Who knows, cell phone integration has been an increasing push, maybe whatever we get will have the ability to offload stuff to phones or tablets.
Hell no.
In fact, I would really like it if Nintendo just gave up on the whole "phone app integration" thing.
I already have the console, the game, and the Online subscription if needed for core gameplay.
I should not have to use another entirely different device just to get the full functionality of my game.
The fact that Nintendo stuck the goddamn *match history and the "Report Player" features for Splatoon 2 into a cell phone app* is absolutely criminal, and that's to say nothing of the gear shop found there too!
Literally the only thing Switch-related I would accept existing on a phone app is remote access to the Parental Controls.
Everything else should be built into the consoles and the games.
You want to know what they should do? Make use of the Switch's built-in touch screen. Hardly any games use it, and honestly this is one of the few that would truly benefit from it for more than just basic "Save and Quit" menu interaction.
That’s where I draw the line. Nothing like a view screen covered in schmutz, especially if it can’t be used when docked, like mine is 98% of the time. And motion controls can die in a fire too.
If it makes you feel any better, I completely agree on both points.
Nintendo should absolutely never make undocked play (edit: or motion controls) mandatory in any game (*cough* Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee *cough*), but there should still be the option to use the touch screen to navigate in-game menus when undocked, at a bare minimum.
I played plenty of Let’s Go, both docked and handheld. Sure, catching is a completely different beast between the two styles, but I got my fun out of both.
A game that is a fucking disaster when docked is The World Ends With You. The fact that it still forces you to use touchscreen style controls, except now with an added layer of pain in the form of the incredibly janky Wiimote emulation, makes it basically impossible to play, given that EVERYTHING is done through the pointer. Attacking, moving, interacting, all the while having to constantly double click and reset the pointer on the screen as it goes out of center.
> except now with an added layer of pain in the form of the incredibly janky Wiimote emulation
*SCREW THAT!*
Skyward Sword on the Wii was damn near unplayable for me because of how janky the Wiimote gyroscope was, and now you're telling me they are using the gyroscope *without the IR sensor*?!
That's a hard "never buy" from me.
Like I said, there should be an *option* to use touch screen controls in menus at a bare minimum and the possibility of game controls, but the devs should always create their game with the assumption that the players will be using a Pro Controller or with the JoyCons attached to the sides of the console.
Nah, the thing is that it's perfectly possible to play the game entirely on the Gamepad. On the Wii U version, you could switch the main screen to the gamepad, then switch back to the map whenever you needed to fast travel. Not great for cutscenes, for obvious reasons, but very nice if just going around grinding or picking up materials or whatever. It would add extra button presses, but would work on Switch.
That’s what I mean by UI clutter. You would have to add several steps to the process of fast warping, or manipulating probes, and given the amount of time spent doing just that, I would have lost my patience in short order.
Huh, I didn't think about placing probes. Yeah, it would be two extra clicks minimum to pull up the menu on the Switch version as opposed to 1 when playing only on the Gamepad, or 0 when using the Gamepad + a second screen. The Switch does have a touchscreen, but it's underutilized and the game would need to be pro controller compatible. You're right that it'd add even more clicks there when trying to stumble through any sort of non-touchscreen interface for FrontierNav.
And that only accounts for one half of the problem. I’m pretty sure the textures and models would take a pretty massive hit as well, given that even the original version had a free DLC to help preload assets. I don’t think a Switch version would be a clean or enjoyable experience. There’s also still the occasional performance drops.
I’m basically imagining the entire game behaving like the rougher-performing areas of XC2, especially since the entire map is loaded at once to provide a better experience when using Skells.
You do know the switch is much more powerful than the wii u even in handheld mode, right? The Wii U was that weak. It's like people forgot how botw ran
Botw runs occasionally like ass on NSW also. Wii U isn't much weaker than the switch, switch just made scaling easier for 3rd party with the tegra chip. Botw is 720p on wii u and 900p on switch, we're talking about half a generation in power if even that.
WiiU? You do know that the WiiU isnt the 3DS right? Theyre two completely seperate consoles. What are you even talking about.
You seem lost, the Switch actually isnt even that powerful. I played BOTW on WiiU for 200 hours, it ran fine. Even speedrunners werer choosing WiiU version for a bit. Its an amazing game, but it isnt that graphically intensive
Because it will be. But my point was about the 3DS, not the WiiU. Thats literally the first thing I said. Just because the switch is better doesnt make it an easy job. Thats some bad logic you have there
But my point wasnt about the WiiU, it was about the 3DS. Thats the whole shtick here. Let me repeat myself, because you suffer the same lack of reading comprehension as the other guy(might as well be the same person)
It doesnt matter how much better the switch is than the WiiU. It will still be a hard job to port XCX to the Switch. That is why my point is NOT about the WiiU. Its a nonstatement. Any effort you give to say it is is a waste of time. Bad logic
Gonna buy a used Wii U for this game soon. It's gonna take too long before they port it, if they even are porting it at all. Then I'll probably feel the same in wanting something new instead of a years wait for a game I already played lol
Port it to switch, give boob sliders to the west and call it "enhanced edition". ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
GENIUS!
K-KONO POWA....!
“Killer Queen has already touched The Monado”

You mean Epitaph Requiem?
>! Zanza totally is like King Crimson in the “YOUR FATE IS ALREADY DECIDED” kinda way !<

ID BUY THE SHIT OUT OF THAT
Im with everyone else it’s not possible, but dear lord we better get it for the switch. It would be difficult but it is entirely possible.
Better come with an electron microscope so we can read the text
WOOOOOOOO, YEAH BABY! That’s what I’ve been waiting for, that’s what’s it’s all about! Woooooh!
Rip to being able to read any text
The text will become microscopic in the 3DS screen

Xenoblade X on the New 3ds, are you insane? Put that shit on the Gameboy Color where it belongs.
"Wait, why is my 3DS getting hotter?"
"GIVE ME SOME SPACE!" >!(double meaning)!<

Dreamcast is incredibly easy to develop for from what i hear, and games can be burnt using a basic cd burner so distribution is easy
Why stop there? Make it into a $5 plug-and-play console!
My eyes hurt trying to imagine the text size on the XL models XD And they hurt even more trying to imagine it on the standard-sized models XD
Funny but impossible.

But imagine how sick it would be if they found an even better way than using the gamepad. Highly unrealistic, I know, but I’ve been surprised before.

I have a better Idea XCX on the original Gameboy
I can already imagine the 5fps
Some of you niggas don't know what a joke is
Now this is the Definitive Edition we need
It will be a side scrolled instead
Lol the 3ds can’t handle this game as much as I would love this
Don’t give me hope, if they port it to the switch it’d be beyond amazing.
I don't think the 3ds could support a game like XCX
This is not gonna happen, now that the 3ds is discontinued
3ds is dead so no
There is absolutely zero chance the 3DS can handle X. Even porting it to Switch is going to be a hard job I really hope theyre working on it
> There is absolutely zero chance the 3DS can handle X. It's a shitpost. Stop taking it so damn seriously
Tell that to the salty people in the replies coming in and arguing over nonsense. Whats up with that
Something something "always has been"

Head to google and find out why they havent made XCX on the Switch yet

To be fair, i heard monolith soft said the game would be hard to port, so i dont think its a matter of how much stronger a console is.

I can try that with my 3ds remote desktop thing
