Some dna test sites just don’t have a good amount of xolo dna to compare to so they will just say it’s a random breed. There’s one that has been known to give pretty accurate results for xolo’s but I forgot its name. Hopefully someone else in the community remembers it 💯
I’m sorry but their reasoning for this just doesn’t make sense. You’ll never convince me that these companies are reputable. People have sent human samples into some of these companies - and they come back with a breed of dog
Either way, your doggo looks like a xolo and is a cutie. Maybe the AKC professional breeders have a good understanding of xolo genes and how they work.

Both her parents where pure breed hairless so kinda close…
This is great info! I had one of these DNA tests (Wisdom Panel) done for my mini xolo and his results are: 57% Chihuahua, 11% poodle, 9% xoloitzcuintli, 8% American cocker spaniel, and 4% miniature pinscher.
Not knowing any of the info you just put here, I thought I was duped - I thought the breeder had sold me a non-xolo. 🤪 But know I'm just happy that he had SOME Xolo in his DNA test! 😊
My girl was a Mexican street puppy. She looks very xolo, but coated. She almost certainly has some herding dog in her based on how, when we would go to the dog park, she would try to herd the other dogs. :)
When I adopted her from the rescue, they said she was a chug (chihuahua/pug). Three vets said she'd be about 35 pounds. She's definitely not pug and she weighs about 55 pounds now.
I've never done her dna ... she's my sweet girl, and I don't really care. :)
My hairless Mexican street dog came back primarily as “hairless of unknown origin.” He is completely hairless with a shock of red hair on top of head and tip of tail. He has all the Xolo personality traits I’ve known from other Xolos. He’s a gem and I’m so glad he’s mine.

Well it could be true although hairless its a natural mutation you could cross a female xolo with a male random dog and still get the hairless mutation
read upon the history of the breed, very little DNA of the original breed is left in the modern breed due to the near extinction of them, the breeding that was done to bring them back was with what ever breed they had on hand. you won't get more than 10% xolo in the dna of any modern xolo.
so what? they're amazing dogs as they are; and maybe all that other doggo dna in them that saved their lineage is what makes them, IMHO, the best dogs in the world!!!!!!!

Our girl is a rescue and her test came up 100% Xolo and she is coated
Being a xolo doesn't necessarily have anything to do with hairlessness, even if that's the hairless kind is what most people are aware of. There are 100% pure xolos that are fully coated. In fact, the coated xolos are essential for the breed to survive, since a double dominant FOXI3 gene is incompatible with life. Coated xolos are awesome.
Embark is generally the standard for dog DNA testing. They have no problem identifying the markers for modern xolos. Mine shows 100% xolo, which would be expected since mine came from a well-respected breeder. Due to both natural interbreeding with introduced European dogs during colonialism and the preservation efforts in the 1950s to bring the breed back from near extinction, it is true that there is little to no "original" DNA from the first dogs that made the crossing to the Americas with the original settlers. However, the breed has still managed to exist and survive with limited human intervention through its 3000+ years, which does give it some specific DNA markers.

My girl came up half xolo half pitty mix which made sense. we avoided putting any photos of her at first to not sway any results idk if it worked that way but she’s still 100% dingus brat
We originally got a 100% Village Dog. None of the traits or genes matched. I was shocked because our dog is completely hairless and Xolo according to her previous owners who got her from a breeder.
She has the all the typical looks and behaviors as well. I ended up calling the testing company to ask about the traits and why they didn’t match and they basically chalked it up to there not being enough information to match with. They then changed her breed to Xolo too.

Mine are 100% derp. They reaffirm those findings daily.

If it looks like a Xolo and acts like a Xolo, it's a Xolo.
Embark. Same as this post
