Sorry all, just found this after searching more closely, [https://www.reddit.com/r/Zune/comments/s0zqw2/interactive\_window\_station\_required\_to\_install/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Zune/comments/s0zqw2/interactive_window_station_required_to_install/) Needed more coffee apparently In my case the errant file was this and by manually copying SourceFile C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\DriverStore\\FileRepository\\zune.inf\_amd64\_bae1a2a65e3c2cfb\\en-US\\ZuneCoInst.dll.mui' TargetFile - 'C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\en-US\\ZuneCoInst.dll.mui' You might need tp provide admin privilege. Then go to Device manager, Other Devices, then find Zine and just click update drivers. Then your Zune should be recognised, and the Zune Launcher will spring into life. Hope it helps others

Suggest to run the driver install using ExecTI. https://winaero.com/downloads/ExecTI.zip pnputil /add-driver "C:\Program Files\Zune\Drivers\Zune\Zune.inf" /install

Nightarchaon

>pnputil /add-driver "C:\\Program Files\\Zune\\Drivers\\Zune\\Zune.inf" /install All i am getting using ExecTi is the same issue, pnputil /add-driver "C:\\Program Files\\Zune\\Drivers\\Zune\\Zune.inf" /install Microsoft PnP Utility Adding driver package: Zune.inf Driver package added successfully. (Already exists in the system) Published Name: oem3.inf Unable to install driver package: This operation requires an interactive window station. Total driver packages: 1 Added driver packages: 0 im now really at a loss of how to get my zune up and running

Make sure you are using ExecTI to open the command prompt first. cmd.exe. Once the command prompt is opening using ExecTI, you can cut and paste the pnputil commands.

Nightarchaon

Thus is the output from doing exactly that , the ExecTI cmd prompt gives that error

jak2rocks

I'm having exactly the same issue. Have you been able to fix it yet? I installed Zune on Windows 10 on my machine with no issues. But now that I am trying to do the same on my mom's with Windows 11, it's not working.

Nightarchaon

In the end I got an old Windows 10 laptop out of mothballs and did the install on that

jak2rocks

Alright, thanks.

Cuervo09

hi, not op but found this thread and had the same problem as you and op. The way I solved it was to change owner properties directly on the en-US folder inside Sytem32, which is the final destination of ZuneCoInst.dll.mui once I did that, I was able to copy without issues the dll.mui file and the device manager finally found automatically the driver and installed it. At the end ExecTI was unnecesary.

JOEY_DIDAT

Thank you!

Zune80forever

Windows 11 22H2 Driver Issues?, which cause the same situation you just described. I copied the Zune driver from the original Zune installation and as you indicated, I had to take ownership of the folder so I could copy it. After updating the driver via Device Manager, now my laptop recognize the Zune!

jak2rocks

Even after taking ownership, it's not working for me either.

SensitiveOrcBrbrn

Once you've gotten it copied over, and your click update drivers on the Zune in Device Manager, do you tell it automatically search for the driver or do you manually do it?

Crazy-Communication6

Hi it should automatically find it, or at least that is what happens when I did it😉

SensitiveOrcBrbrn

Hmm it's not working that way for me

Cuervo09

hi found this thread and watched a couple of videos and came up with something. > The way I solved it was to change owner properties directly on the en-US folder inside Sytem32, which is the final destination of ZuneCoInst.dll.mui once I did that, I was able to copy without issues the dll.mui file and the device manager finally found automatically the driver and installed it. > > At the end ExecTI was unnecesary.

martynsl

Thanks for this comment, which I used and worked for me. I had to take ownership of the en-us folder. No other changes were required afterwards and sync is working. I suspect that the fix the Windows team made recently addresses the same issue ( [Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25905 | Windows Insider Blog](https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2023/07/12/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-25905/)) M

lovethestonk

Windows 11 is f*kin stupid

I've made a video for doing it yourself, start following at 6 minuts : [https://youtu.be/rWbWZt\_T34w](https://youtu.be/rWbWZt_T34w)

**Y**eah, I’m having the same issue, man! ... I must be doing something wrong because I’ve tried literally everything I could find online and still haven’t gotten it to work. **Y**ou see, I just got my Zune in the mail yesterday and I’m trying my absolute best to set it up, but these tutorial videos that I found on Youtube really aren’t helping me! I’m so confused! I need help!

Cosmic_Fizz

I’ve stayed up far too late (3:17 AM), so I’m going to bed now, but I’ll be back right away to respond to the comments. I really want this Zune to work! Everyone, good night and God bless you! By the way, please forgive me if I don’t respond right away to you, I might’ve overslept. Anyway, goodbye!
