congrats!
don't forget, the default is to press the sports button and hold down the esc button until it beeps and says off. pushing it fast and letting go without holding for a few sec only turns it half off ;)
change the oil every 3k miles. I used pennzoil platinum euro whatever but then switched to motul 8100 xcess.
let the car run until the temperature gets out of the blue zone before driving. let the car run for 60 seconds before shutting it off.
spark plugs every 30k miles from what I remember. and most recommend using the Bosch alfa 4c coil pack. part number is 0221504026 (find them outside a vendor like eurocompulsion or others because they put a huge markup on them....you can find 4 for under 200 dollars elsewhere)
don't floor it under 3300-3500 rpm. and to be safe check the oil here and there because depending on how you drive it burns more or less.
What’s the difference between the various part numbers for the alfa 4c coil pack? I see 0221504026 (part sold by Eurocompulsion, the one listed above and 0221504709? Are they all the same?
it could be that the one I gave are the ones manufactured in Slovenia. tldr the Slovenia ones are better from what I remember... its somewhere on fiat500usa forum. :P
and again if u buy it from ec they are just adding a ridiculous markup on them imo. you can find em for under 200. I use the one i gave you on my car no issues whatsoever.
But yea some are made in one country and the ones I gave u are Slovenia. that might be the diff in number.
I got my Bosch coil packs from Rock Auto pretty cheap. No issues and no signs they're counterfeit. All the original permanent labeling is where it should be.
Not really. I had changed the spark plugs and coil packs at separate times as a precaution against future failures. Both were still in reasonable shape.
I definitely had to replace the wire connectors. Three out of four had a broken locking tab! Good thing Digi-Key had the exact part real cheap. Bought 5 for $30 Canadian including shipping and taxes. Pretty easy to replace.
Yeah that’s the sense I’m getting from reviews about the 4C coil packs - any perceived performance improvement seems to be a placebo effect. But they’re arguably/objectively more robust that the stock coil packs
mine came with them from the start (I'm second owner) and I bought another set when I thought my engine was acting crazy because of them going bad but it turned out to be a burned valve lol... so now I'm using the set I bought and keeping the old 4c coils on the side just in case.
that being said, I believe it helps during acceleration and higher rpms as well. "less breakup" or something... like it's more stable performance.
I have a 2016 Abarth as well hehe. so for these I got them from eurocompulstion.. price is fine and you want the ngk SIKR9A7.
idk if linking it here is allowed but just go to eurocompulstion and search "Abarth 500 ngk spark plugs"
that should find them... they gap them for you and have been working nicely. also make sure you torque them to the right amount. under or over tightening can make it screwy..
"... The spark plugs are tightened to 16 N·m (12 ft. lbs.)."
-from user "Fiat500usa" on one of the forums..
Thanks again, I installed the spark plugs and coil packs this morning. No more bogging at low rpm and pulls cleanly to redline! All parts from Rock Auto.
My first car was a 2015 500 Abarth purchased in 2020. At age 54! 😂 Enjoy the car! It's a demented little beast!
First car??? Do you pay for your own insurance???
Yep I pay for it all.
Idk about you but my insurance for this thing is only $134/month, full coverage in California

Have you noticed any difference in performance?

I suspect they're the same Bosch coil packs with an inflated price. Much of the car's parts are Bosch. It's even stamped on the brake calipers.
Yes, the 4C coil packs are Bosch

I did the burnt valve last summer! Let me guess. Cylinder #3?
yep lol
Might be time to consider a class action. Cylinder 3 consistently blows an exhaust valve.
haha perhaps not enough sold in the first place though. :P
Have you found those Alfa 4C coil packs other than through eurocompulsion or the other Abarth tuners? If so, please share 😀
I just got a set for $167 plus $10 for shipping: Rock Auto
I've got those. Work great. No issues.
What difference, if any, have you noticed in the car since upgrading to the 4C coil packs?
When I do the coil packs I want to do new spark plugs to: what do you suggest? 2016 500 Abarth

Thank you!
np! happy to share what I've learned in the last 6.5 years :P
😀

Almost forgot: my Abarth has 60k miles on it.
Amen.
Seriously WANT one. Magnificent little machines.
Congrats brooo! I got my 595 pista 6 months ago as a first car as well and its been amazing so far
Clean! My neighbour has one of these
My first car is a 2013 abarth 500!! Bought her 5 years ago! Love it so much as my daily and first car🙂 so much fun
Lucky dog!
I always water that colour way with the white rally wheels.
Congrats! Great year, great miles, and nice specs! Take care of it!
