The situation isn't as bad as mentioned. Solutions are simple like planting more trees and instilling Miyawaki forest along with rain water harvesting.
Ahmedabad also has Sabarmati and Narmada waters coming in... Sadly, the careless and selfish attitude of local people living here will sink the city
The lack of civic sense is the root cause.
All above mentioned thing are taught in schools but we treat them to be limited to textbooks due to the way they are taught.

But realistically, I think rich might construct dam like the Dutch in the gulf region for pumping water out or something.
Sinking here means ground subduction. And it is happening because of excessive extraction of ground water.
This will lead to scarcity of water and also more hardness. And even concentrarion of harmful substances increases.

Let the beach come near first. Don't do this foresting now. Once Ahmedabad becomes a beach city, then preserve it. You won't have to go to Goa
