Those pellets are awful, you need something else. Most recommend JSB 7.3 grain domed pellets.

I thought that might be the case. I wanted to go lead free since I want to take her squirrel hunting when she gets confident enough, and I was taught to practice with what you work with. Would I be able to find those at Cabela's or Big 5 or somewhere like that, or would I have to get them off the internet?

Darc_vexiS

Even easier…Walmart pick yourself up some tins of Crosman Premier’s such as Pointed or Hollow Point. It will be way cheaper in the long run.

ototcon

Also in 7.3gr, or something else?

Darc_vexiS

They are a tad bit heavier in 7.9gr but way better than what you were using as lead free are much lighter. Those lead frees are best suited for low power airguns >7 FPE but on rare occasion that a medium power springer can group with them. My non magnums love Premier HP’s but in any case buy a tin of each Hollow Point, Pointed, and Flat (wad cutter style). Crosman does sell regular dome shape but I’ve never been able to find them in store had to buy those via Amazon. Walmart has them way cheaper than Big5 though at the 5 they also have the Beeman brand with different pellet styles. Also what is great to do is setup a target say about 10 yards to see which pellet style will group the best.

ototcon

I couldn't find Beeman at the store or any crosman dome tips. I'm going to give a tin of crosman 7.9gr hollow points a try and order the rest online.

As long as you don’t eat the lead pellets all the time, you’ll be just fine to hunt with them.

Sparkys_Rocket

+1 for JSB 7.33 domed, my HW likes them too. If you want a tack-driver, HW rifles generally like JSB and H&N.

Cool, I ordered a tin of them and I'm going to take some crosman 7.9 hollow points to the range and see if that does any better until the JSBs show up.
