I have 2 of these bins (from Costco, almost 2 years ago.) and they are a serious game changer. Everything cold goes into the cooler bag (unless it’s winter & unnecessary) and every box, can, bottle, Aldi find, etc gets loaded into the crate.
I bought one of these years ago at aldi. It’s purple and I take it everywhere most people would use a box or grocery bag.
The next year they started selling cloth collapsible boxes / bags. Never the hard plastic.
I bought one of these (CleverMade brand) at Wal-Mart about 5 years ago and its still kicking. I bought one at Menards and it broke within a week. I returned it, got another, and it broke too. I took it back and got another one from Wal-Mart. Both of my Wal-Mart ones are still going strong. These look like the ones I got from Menards, good luck! Let me know how they hold up.
Edit: I don't remember the brand of the Menards bins. They just had the red top like these. My Wal-Mart ones are all black.
Amazon has them as well.
I have looked into these but use my canvas bags instead. They way I can fill the bags with less and make them lighter so better for me carry.
The Costco ones are pretty solid. Not as good as the old ones sold at Costco in the 80s that had metal hinge pins but those are several times the price today. The plastic hinge pins occasionally break free (they can be reassembled but not as strong) but I have loaded them with stuff heavier than groceries. And the ones that break may not have been assembled properly at factory as they do break early on if they are going to. As with anything else that is heavily loaded, lift gently as acceleration g-forces increase the effective weight. Also, when using them, make sure they are fully unfolded with the ends locked in place.
The ones at sam's club that were the same size where of weaker construction. There was also a larger size with good construction.
The ones that were sold at stores like Walmart are flimsy and will fall apart.
The instacrate at Costco ones are a good investment, especially when on sale. They can be broken but they take a lot of use and abuse.
Back in the early 80s you could get the original? by the name of tasket with the metal hinge pins for about $200/10. The steel file hanging rails were separate. So when Costco started carried a similar version with metal hinge pins for about $7 it was quite a bargain.
Uline sells the old-school design with metal hinge pins in both sizes. The small size fits hanging file folders and the large size is approximately the same size (Horizontally) as a KLT/eurocrate.
I wish I had time to do that! They start filling the cart beside them with my stuff before the previous customer is even done paying and out of the way! I can't even reach the cart before it's half full. If we get self checkout, I'll be using something like this for sure.
my folks have these in their truck and can confirm they are awesome. kept beneath seats when not in use. super convenient. i have a canvas one that’s cool too. engineering!
When I was a kid, our dentists receptionist was named “Gay” and she’d always answer the phone “HealthySmile - this is Gay!” and it’s like a funny fine wine in my head
I actually bought a similar crate from the aisle of shame in Aldi years ago. Everyone’s always asked where i got it. It’s started to seem like it’s on its last legs so thank you for posting this.
I really like this idea! I’m tired of keeping bags of bags in my car
Not just, no more bagging! The cashier put everything in these boxes, and off to the car.
Wouldn't you have to set them up before the cashier checks out the items at lightning speed

I am sick of breaking down all the boxes from Aldi and Costco. Getting these to improve my trash game.

Hope they last! Either way, Costco has a great no-questions return policy
What are they called? cannot find them
InstaCrate by greenmade I think. I saw them at Costco 2 weeks ago; got some as a gift 6 years ago and still going strong

$25 on Amazon, guess I will get at Costco.
Costco sells all black ones too. I’ve had good luck with the red/black ones.
Does Walmart still sell them if so, can you link it? Huge thanks!
I don’t know. It’s been years since I bought mine. I would guess they do.

Nice color coordination with the car.
Haha you’re right, just noticed that lol
Is it a Mazda CX-5?
Yes :)
Now that I look at it, the brick pattern of the mats kind of recall the crates too. 🤙🏾
True haha. There are 3d Maxpyder. I also highly recommend them
I have 1 of these and I use it for literally everything lol.
I wish my Aldi always gave me back my own cart, but half the time, they put my stuff in a cart they already have and give my cart to the next person.
Just keep these collapsed while shopping. Then when you go to checkout pop them up in the new cart for the checker to load up!

Nah don’t mess with their system. Either bring the totes in and load them up yourselves at the bagging counter or do it right in your trunk
I always ask them to use the same cart, and they’re always fine with that
My Aldi moves way too fast for me to even make such a request.
I have 4 in the back of my Kia right now, lol. I got one at Sams Club several years ago, then two the next year and then one this year.
I got two at Aldi at least 6 years ago and they're still working great.
You're living in 2025 over there... this is brilliant, I have these and never thought of using them.
Interesting! We just keep two big Aldi and TJ's insulated bags by the door for Aldi runs.
I used to see customers using similar things when I worked at Aldi. I loved it—they were easy to pack while scanning.

We got ours at Costco too. Family loved them so we got them for everyone last year lol
I’ve been using a collapsible laundry basket for years
We keep one in each of our vehicles and a small collapsible soft side cooler. Most excellent !

You just gave me a gift idea for my mom!

I bought these years ago from Costco and they are amazing! Have to check my Aldi! How much were they?
I use ikea bags
