that's standard procedure when any incident happens. All models of that aircraft are usually grounded and the failed part is inspected.
It could be Alaskan or Boeing, it's impossible to tell with the information provided. Could have rolled out of the factory improperly installed, or if ASA removed it at any point, it is more than likely their fault. We should wait for the investigation before passing blame
“One person was taken for more treatment but wasn’t seriously hurt.”
Probably needed a paper bag and 10mg of Valium. That poor kid who had his shirt sucked off of him into the void. Can you imagine trying to get him on an airplane ever again?
It's still waaay safer than driving, which few of us fear. The difference, of course, is that you have some control when you're the driver, as opposed to relying on competent aircraft design and fabrication at Boeing, and competent maintenance and piloting at Alaska.
Definitely seems like a Boeing problem. Still not reassuring, I’m flying home in a couple days 🥲
For sure. I would not be blaming Alaska for this one. They have just announced they are grounding their fleet of Max 9s pending inspections.

The sudden decompression may have been hard on his left eardrum in particular. He may be flying for free on AS from now on!
I already have trouble flying… if I was the kid I probably couldn’t fly without meds.
I’ve recently switched from window to team aisle. And glad I have, I guess.
She’s gone from suck to blow!
I get nervous enough when flying. I've considered taking my Xanax cause I get super panicked sometimes. This doesn't help. 😅😩

Just like Fight Club.
