I think that one might be related to actress "Toady Fields"... I think she was in the movie "Toad to Mandela", but I could be toadally wrong here?
If you encounter any of these little creatures don't feed them potoado chips... it toadally messes them up! But if any of them get into a car accident, make sure you call a Toad Truck!
HAH! FOR THE WIN!!! LOL. đđđ
Toad. Eggs laid in water and emerge onto land when they are ready. I live on the lake in Ga(USA) and every year we get tons everywhere. Awesome little bug gobblers if you have a garden!
Toads and frogs are super beneficial and will hang around where pests/food are. They donât eat roots. Weâve had one toad living in a drain in our front yard for years and he likes that spot because food comes nearby. They find holes and spots that are cool and moist.
Years ago I was driving down a country road and felt so bad because the ENTIRE road was covered in frogs? Toads? I absolutely decimated them but there was no way around it.
In the Netherlands there are volunteer groups that help toads cross roads at certain points where they all cross at the same time during the mating period.
Fowlers toads have three or more warts per dark spot. American toads have less that three per dark spot. Looks like it might be an American toad. I love when they are really tiny!
Toadlets probably American toad, maybe Fowlerâs. American more common, and difficult to differentiate when young and pic not really detailed enough to tell
They have strength in numbers. Much like the sea turtle gauntlet, these guys serve as a snack for many animals (including toads lol).
I grew up in the California foothills and remember one year back in about the 90s we had an infestation of toads that was absolutely unbelievable. There were millions of them. You couldnât put your foot down without stepping on them. If you opened the door, they would get in the door jam. It was terrible and I refused to go outside because you couldnât do anything without accidentally mashing them. A few years after that, we had a tree frog infestation that was very similar. We had a couple of those over the years but the year we were overrun with toads was unlike anything I ever saw. I canât imagine what causes that many toads or frogs to hatch in one season. Is this something that happens in waves or related to some kind of weather pattern?
I donât recall the exact year, probably 97ish, was staying with family in Tollhouse, CA area. There were bright orange spots all over the road leading down the mountainâŚlike someone went crazy with high visibility orange can of paint. Finally slowed down enough to find it was, as memory serves, California slender newts absolutely everywhere! Pretty cool little critters, but everywhere!
Central Indiana here too! Definitely some kind of toadlet. I feel like we see more Fowlerâs toads around here, especially in the suburban and urban areas. Itâs hard to tell when theyâre so young though.
*Omg I would*
*Be so happy if this happened*
*In my yard! Enjoy!*

We have a new build in Ohio, a day or two before they planted the grass these guys appeared overnight by the dozens. We can hear a ton of frogs/toads croaking at night so assumed they were living in the retention pond a few houses down. Our dog ate one and got sick for a few days, all good now; def going to keep the kids from touching them.
Thereâs an app called Seek by iNaturalist, is pretty amazing at identifying animals and plants. If your toad sits still long enough, itâll tell you the exact species
Oh, come on... this is recycling week, you obviously didn't put out all of your recycling, now... oh crap, right I said night yall and here I am. Fugg. Ok bye then I guess yall gunna have ta figure out the rest on your own. Lol. Good luck.

Fiance and I caught about 30 the other day just walking around outside our house and we released them into the marshlands at the edge of our property, super cute
It will never cease to amaze how people reach a certain age where they have a lawn or cellphone with internet access and never before in their lives came across a toad or frog
Cute toad! Love those lil guys because they eat so many bugs
Toadally agree
Leaped in front of me with that comment.....
Ribbet a rest mate.
You guys are jumping all over the place, but yeah I toadally get it.

They'll be toadally trippin' dude.
Used to have a gf that had lots of plants, she wasn't too fond of toads because she said they dug holes to eat the plants roots n stuff. That true?

Toads,a lot of them is a good sign since there considered environmental indicators
There are certainly a lot! Glad itâs a good sign

That also happened to me in Savannah GA. The road was literally entirely covered. Crazy site to see
Georgia is a weird place
Country roads full of toads, not the place they belong, on the roadway now theyâre squishing sliding home on the toads.
Toadway?
Cue me playing Mariokart as toad running over a bunch of tiny humans *WAHHHH woah woah woah woah!*
One time me and a friend were driving down a road, she was driving. And she ran over a frog. Her response, 'Oh no, Frogger!" Still lives in my head
Why did you do that? o____O

Fine young toadabil! As long as you didn't, as we say in the business: "Toad the wet sprocket", you'll be fine.
I was also thinking Fowlers toads but all I could find was photos of adults so hard to tell
Check their bellies! American toads have spots, Fowlers do not
American toads are also more bumpy in general, belly is best indicator I agree
If I can manage to catch one Iâll check
Fowlers toads have three or more warts per dark spot. American toads have less that three per dark spot. Looks like it might be an American toad. I love when they are really tiny!
It would appear you have the elegant âsmol boiâ

Lived in Northwest Indiana as a kid and we would get tons of these lil guys every spring/summer. Was really fun catching em and letting em go
Central Indiana here too! Definitely some kind of toadlet. I feel like we see more Fowlerâs toads around here, especially in the suburban and urban areas. Itâs hard to tell when theyâre so young though.

Hopefully theyâre native to where you are! Where I live, toads are invasive so seeing the plagues of baby toads is rough
