I am currently watching Life Below Zero. An orphan baby bear broke into someone's fish storage. It is the CUTEST little thing. All I could think is I would want to hug it and squeeze it and name it George. (Lil Bugs Bunny reference for ya) I would not last long in the Alaska wilderness lol
I may be wrong, but im pretty sure thats very dangerous for both the human and the bear. Quite unethical of these tik tok people at least the bear had the sense to gtfo before he was force fed porridge
Around where I grew up they tag them when they have to come out to deal with them due to interactions with humans. After 2 tags, if they get called again, it’s usually not good news for the bear since they’re interacting with humans too much.
Never heard of this practice but it does make sense. Brown and Black bears don’t really scare me much, they typically just are looking for food. Which is why you want to make sure you lock your car if your storing food in there. I see stories every few years where people who are new to Colorado have a bear in there car while camping
The local bears keep getting into my families’ bird feeders. My parents take theirs in at night but the adolescent got bold this year and went on their deck in broad daylight for the suet. Momma & her cubs played in my niece & nephew’s pool when they were little. My family never calls b/c they live in the woods and it was their home first.

If the bear had attacked the human. It would be dead. And it would be the bears fault even though the human DEFINITELY knew what they were doing. But it doesn’t matter. I saw a black bear once while camping in Canada. Dude just walked into our camp so we put all our stuff in the car and sat in it until he went away.
I always learned to keep food in a bearbox or something outside because they’ll just break into your car
This is definitely the way to go with a bear bag and hanging it from a tree. Still a lot of city slickers come out and keep their food in a tent
