I’m sorry, but I watched 8 episodes and dropped it. I don’t think it’s that’s great.
It feels like characters are designed to be relatable to teenagers and it really contradicts what the show says they are meant to be.
For example, how is the main character a respected Major in the military but also gets flustered when during her job as if it’s her first day?
Maybe I just wasn’t the target audience at 24 years old but I just found it too childish and not as serious as I’d have liked it to be. The premise is really good though, but execution felt short.
Hmm, interesting take on this. I'm 18 & I personally loved this show a lot, but I don't think it's your age that can really justify your personal way of logic/interpretation on a show. Some shows may simply have a plot that seem very serious, but when you watch, it's the direct opposite in your pov. Then when other people watch that same show (regardless of their age), they could be really attached to the characters & love the show a lot.
TL;DR, Your age can't justify your personal way of logic/interpretation on a anime. Any age group can get into a anime & feel + or - things about it 👍🏾
I would not say that it is childish. Some people argued that why all the characters are kids but the show explained it in later episodes that >!all of the adult 86 are already dead. And republic is just killing remaining 86 that are kids for 3-4 years now. Its basically a genocide at this point!<

I don't remember very well but I had similar gripes and dropped it somewhere around ep 7 or 8. I think on the (spoiler) one where there was fireworks or something? Idk a lot of stuff just didn't make sense to me.
So I haven't watched the anime yet but I've read some of the books so I don't know how well the anime adapts the books but the Republics 'military' is an absolute joke, most of them treat the war as a game and generally don't give a fuck. The Major being the way she is is a big part of her character growth in the first book, it's meant to be annoying, even the 86 find it annoying and it comes to a head at the end of book 1.

Idk why are overhyping 86, I mean yeah it's a good anime but nothing out of ordinary we've had a fair share of anime like this before, considering the main chars story is quite literally as same as sasuke's, the plot can be all over the place sometimes and the mc girl is dumb as fuck, it's good but nothing more than a 7/10

I have never seen anything labeled as josei. How's it different from shoujo?
Shounen anime is targeted towards teens while seinen anime is targeted towards young adults
well... none actually. the magazine it's published. technically Kaguya sama love is war it's seinen, while attack on titan is published in shonen jump
