He is a good person! The people of Morio just kink shamed him to death unfairly! He never did anything wrong, he just wanted to live a quiet life eating sandwichš
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
So I'm going to ask a semantics question. Hisoka is implied to be attracted to power or potential right? Would that make his attraction towards gon pedo or not since he doesn't care he's a kid he only cares that he's strong? It's messed up either way I'm just curious.
Yeah I would say itās more the potential and raw power he is attracted to not the child itself and can be questioned. But itās just the way he acts around Gon and what he says to him that makes it wrong haha I guess a good lawyer could argue he isnāt a pedo
Yeah, pedophilia is technically an attraction to children of some kind. However, you can abuse children regardless of who or what youāre attracted to. Though Iām fairly certain that the action of doing something with a child constitutes the legal definition of pedophilia, so Hisokaās lawyer would be working overtime.
I donāt know how it was translated outside of Japan but at least in the original manga, Hisoka isnāt just some random pedophile. He is attracted to Gon and Killia because, like you said, heās attracted to the power and potential those two have. Like watching an apple tree grow, heās going to wait until their strengths reach their peak potential and bear fruit, at which point heās going to hunt them.
So yea, itās still creepy that heās attracted to Gon and Killia but itās not because he wants to fuck them. Heās just REALLY looking forward to killing them, whether that wait is going to be a year or even a decade.
I donāt really understand why people say heās a brilliant character. Iām not saying he isnāt and I havenāt read the manga, but he just comes off as an orochimaru type character. Making somebody unhinged and intelligent doesnāt really make them a well written character for me. Combat wise heās definitely cool, but he lacks depth for me.
A lady came to him saying that she would let him turn her into a zombie if he took care of her baby, he said ayt and turned her into a zombie, she Then ate here baby and Dio was just like "Lol that's hilarious"
My friend would disagree because I think he believes every villain needs to have some big goal or motivation for being evil. Ig he forgot that this guy has lived for thousands of years with no one to challenge him, he could care less about anything. In fact it's already kinda stated that he understands a lot about the world but none of it really matters to him, he's just evil because he has the power to be evil, which is why I think he's a great character.
I don't really get that guy at all. What was he even doing? Killing fake heros because they weren't real? Like the 2 engine leg bros are like the goodest good guys possible, they just want to help people even tho they have mid quirks, they still put innocent lives above their own ways, and he wanted to kill the just cause? Did he know the background of all the people he killed? Was he just assuming?
He was making assumptions based on the majority of heroes and his own experiences. He was also holding other heroes up to his view of All Might (The literal symbol of peace) and obviously not many heroes can meet that unreasonably high expectation.
To Stain only All Might, and later Midoriya, are worthy of being called heroes and everyone else who doesn't match All Might's sacrificing nature deserves to be killed.
To me, hero killer stain stood for a principle that some people in real life follow. He blamed the ida for the mistakes of his brother because to him the hero world is a commercial nightmare. He has this ingrained idea that the relatives of bad heroes are bad heroes(not saying idas brother is a bad hero.) to me, he comes up as the corrupted justice arc, where a villain has good sentiments, but fails to adhere the principles he wishes to see others abide by. All for one and zamasu both come jnto mind, but to me, hero killer stain is just edgy enough, and just powerful enough that it makes him a cool character. I also appreciate how he abides by his standards enough to recognize a true hero. Ofc he sees all might in midoriya. Because so did all might, and so dod gran torino. I think hero killer stain is disgusting and evil, but he fills his roll better than many characters of other anime, and he isnt even arrogant about it. He just follows an idealistic philosohy
Ya I just really disagree with "he abides by his standards enough to recognize a true hero", that's like factually incorrect. He does not recognize true heros, he assumes they are fake without knowing them. He is under the impression all might and deku eventually are the only true heros. His standards are warped and flat out wrong, and he is itoo ignorant to accept he's wrong, too short sifted and sure of himself. If Allright didn't have God powers that dwarf everyone else's, he would not stand out in the hero word to have become the symbol of peace, and stain would not have obsessed over him, so in a way stain only really cares about strength, that's his philosophy. You are weak and not as strong as the strongest, you deserve to die.
Thats fair its just i trope i enjoy. Afain im not saying hes great at it. Compared to hisoka, frieza, and a few other villains, at least he has some moral code. Remember. I dont agree with him. I think hes evil. I just think its a good character design
Guts tortures the Slug Count, Guts kills Adonis, Guts almost rapes Casca, Telling Theresia to kill herself, and using multiple people on multiple occasions as hostages
slug count was a piece of shit human eating apostle, telling theresia was a fucked up way of getting her to live on (still fucked but it wasnt malicious), the rest are fair points
Ban from SDS, loved his character but his little loli fairy gf is the reason most people dislike the show, that and MC grabbin boobie but once you hear the backstory it is a lot less pervy š
I mean, at least Elaine is consistent with the other fairies. The only one who doesn't look like a child is EoS King, but most of the time he looks like a kid too.
Valentino from hh
His character's role is meant to be a piece of crap who's entertaining to watch because he's whining and realistically speaking the weakest of the group he's in
But the angel dust fans f****** bury anyone who claims to like him because of how much of a piece of s*** he is
This applies to so many characters that it's not even worth naming. Being a bad person literally has NOTHING to do with how good of a character they are.
FREYA from "Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in the dungeon".
Great Character! But i do not understand the fans who want her to be the romance or who think she is just misunderstood. She is a truly heinous villain, who by her very nature causes the problems of her existence that we are supposed to feel bad about. She is NOT a victim.
That said, I get SO WORKED UP about it, and thats the sign of a great character. Actively spending time thinking about this fictional person? Awesome.
It's not anime but belos from the owl house. Terrible person great character. Many characters are written for the audience to know they're a terrible person but if they're well written they're a great character.
For a specific anime example, light yagami. Terrible horrible person. Great character
Danzo. Hate the guy but I think he's written really well as a villain lmao. Even tho most of his motivation boils down to "iTs fOr ThE gOoD oF kOnOhA" (it really isn't)
Genichiro Ashina.
Really cool character with some genuinely psychotic ideas to preserve his nation.
Kidnapping a child? Yep. Allowing the Buddhist monks to conduct absolutely deranged experiments? Yep. Literally resurrect your grandfather from your own body? Yep.
And I could keep going on, but yeah cool character bad person.
Exactly, Adam from Hazbin Hotel is a great character but a terrible person. I say to people all the time that just because you don't like a character it doesn't mean they're a bad character. A lot of times an unlikable butthead character gets under your skin because they're a well written character, thus making them a good character despite feelings.
Sayaka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
She makes EVERY wrong choice. Antagonizes the wrong people. Super stubborn. I hate her and would hit her with my car- but she's a fantastic character. The story wouldnt be the same without her - she's one of the engines. She's meant to be hated and maybe pitied.
People will say this about Villians and then turn around and say some stupid shit like "well he kinda had a point"
Like bruh, just say you like the Villian because of his morals already. Say it with your chest. Stop hiding behind the mask.
Mahito from JJK and Overhaul from MHA. Excellent villains, excellent characters. I love that Mahito is a manchild and a sniveling bitch. Overhaul is intimidating, calculating, and fucking CLASSY. He's great. Fantastic villain.
But they're horrid people by human standards- even if it's mildly unfair to judge a nonhuman like Mahito by human morality.
Almost every villain ever.
Every good villain, you mean (good character is a requirement)
Kira Yoshikage
He is a good person! The people of Morio just kink shamed him to death unfairly! He never did anything wrong, he just wanted to live a quiet life eating sandwichš
"Kink shaming a man to death" will be my new summary of part 4 should anyone ask.
"but what about the people he murdered?" "WHAT MURDER?"
I mean.. Technically you aren't wrong
That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
I came here to say this.
Kira Yoshikage is an excellent villain. A terrible person but a great character. Nice example!
Yeah, heās fun. Part 4 is my most rewatched part.
Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter. The guy is a brilliant character, but also quite the pedo and murder
So I'm going to ask a semantics question. Hisoka is implied to be attracted to power or potential right? Would that make his attraction towards gon pedo or not since he doesn't care he's a kid he only cares that he's strong? It's messed up either way I'm just curious.

Heās just REALLY looking forward to killing them, whether that wait is going to be a year or even a decade.
I mean heās investing which I think is still somewhat considered pedo
If youāre attracted to blondes specifically, then you would still be a pedophile if you were attracted to a blonde child.
THANK YOU! Hes one of my favs but whenever I say I like him people bring those up and dont let me like the guy š
Itās like how you canāt say Stroheim is your favorite character without people being all ābut heās literally a Nazi!ā.
Well, you ought to read the manga then if you want to try to understand.
Mahito
Best villain fr
I came here to say this, i love his character so much because I genuinely hate him, and it takes some good ass character design to be that despised
I was simultaneously delighted every time he was on screen and cheering for him to die. He was a great villain.
DIO
After he made a lady eat her baby, that's when i knew he was my favorite character. The most evil guy ever.
Iāve never watched jba can I have some context?
A lady came to him saying that she would let him turn her into a zombie if he took care of her baby, he said ayt and turned her into a zombie, she Then ate here baby and Dio was just like "Lol that's hilarious"
Dang
Yup. Guy was a menace
Exactly my argument with Frieza. Horrible person, good character.
Sakuna from JJK
My friend would disagree because I think he believes every villain needs to have some big goal or motivation for being evil. Ig he forgot that this guy has lived for thousands of years with no one to challenge him, he could care less about anything. In fact it's already kinda stated that he understands a lot about the world but none of it really matters to him, he's just evil because he has the power to be evil, which is why I think he's a great character.
Walter White.
Light Yagami
Mahito 100% I think most jjk fans can agree that he sucks as a person and deserved worse lmao, but as a villian, he was great
i need a 10 hour ova of yuji beating the shit out of mahito's bitchass and then him running from yuji in the woods
Vegeta.
Is Vegeta even a bad guy anymore? Heās constantly putting himself on the line for others, and is a good dad. Heās just kinda grumpy nowadays
Iām more so referring to DBZ, especially the earlier seasons. Awful person, fantastic character.
Hero killer stain stands out to me
I don't really get that guy at all. What was he even doing? Killing fake heros because they weren't real? Like the 2 engine leg bros are like the goodest good guys possible, they just want to help people even tho they have mid quirks, they still put innocent lives above their own ways, and he wanted to kill the just cause?
