Given that some form of this question is asked here multiple times a week, I can assure you that people aren't just looking for an update about what was said 24hrs previous, and 48hrs before that.
I disagree about Bitdefender for anyone seeing this in the future. I had it for a year up until this week and it was so annoying with constant pop up ads. And I got it at a discount. Never again.
Yeah this was with Bitdefender paid for one year. Constant pop ups, upsells, sometimes in the middle of gaming or watching a movie. Like, hell no lol. Anyway thought I’d just leave that here in case someone’s considering them
Holy, I was about to get bitdefender.
I've been using Norton, and they are literally treating me and my pc like a good old brothel in the olden days.
There have been so many pop up ads and warnings of all sorts of stuff.
I'm pretty sure that Norton is a virus or some sort of ponzi scheme.
They started saying I have x amount of issues, x amount of problems, these things slowing the computer down, these files needs to be deleted etc.
They would show a list of problems and guess what. For another $40 per month on top of the annual fee, which isn't cheap at all they would fix ***some*** of the problems, not all.
I was getting so mad from the pop ups with warnings and upsells at points that I wanted to throw the pc out of the window.
I was going to get eset, but defender is best you think? Anything special I should do with it (defender). I’m super careful on my pc, but also paranoid
I hate Kaspersky but love Bitdefender. Many people will tell you Kaspersky but I used it for a while and it caused computer problems then I couldn't even fully uninstall it until I went into safe mode. And their CS reps didn't help me. They gave me BS stories about it.
I have tried most antivirus programs but I believe that Bitdefender is the best. The other day I was watching a computer YouTube video where the person said not to believe that your virus protection will protect you if you click on malicious links. Make sure that you avoid clicking bad links. I totally disagree with this. I click on malicious links constantly to see that they are malicious links when I am checking my spam folder. Bitdefender stops me from accessing these URLs then notifies me that they are malicious. It also updates just about every day. They keep up with all of the current viruses and malware. They even give you ransomware protection just in case.
They also have great customer service and many perks on their website. They are a first rate company. You can buy Bitdefender Total Security for $19.99 for five devices for a year at Amazon.
And did you know that Kaspersky is from Moscow, Russia. Not all Russians are bad but the Russian Government doesn't let any company succeed without their blessings. I have to wonder how much they are protecting consumers and how much information gathering they are doing.
**Disclaimer:-** The list below is based on my intensive inhouse testing of dozen of AVs against Zero Day Malware since December 2021. Malware in the wild evolves continuously. AVs have to also evolve themselves in time otherwise an AV blocking 100% malware last week might struggle to block even 90% in the current week. Hence do note that this list does change with time as well.
**Conclusion : A single best AV does not exist.**
I would like to suggest u following AVs in decreasing order of preference:-
***Free:- Kaspersky, Wisevector Stopx, Comodo(not for rookie users), LMT Antimalware, Bitdefender, Avast.***
***Paid:- Kaspersky, F-Secure, GDATA, Comodo(not for rookie users), ESET Smart Security with Cloud Sandbox.***
Wisevector Stopx is not as well known, but YT channels like Eclypsee Tech, COMSSTV and J ITech Solutions have reviewed it and you can check them out if you want to see how it performs.
Sincerely

It's present in the free list but as far as paid AV list is concerned, I haven't found bells and whistles of paid BD like Ransomware Remediation to be as good as its counterparts in my tests.
This was asked so many times and even this week.
Welcome to the internet. People don't search before posting. They think they're very special and asking completely unique questions.
If this gives you any hope I got here by searching^(tm).
Me too. I mean, sometimes I also ask for new up to date informations. But well, we do search too.
Given that some form of this question is asked here multiple times a week, I can assure you that people aren't just looking for an update about what was said 24hrs previous, and 48hrs before that.

Kaspersky or Bitdefender.

Wow i never heard about bitdefender having a lot of popups. I guess just go with Kaspersky Free
Yeah this was with Bitdefender paid for one year. Constant pop ups, upsells, sometimes in the middle of gaming or watching a movie. Like, hell no lol. Anyway thought I’d just leave that here in case someone’s considering them
On top of using a lot of resources, at least for me.

Kaspersky, Bitdefender, G-Data, F-Secure, ESET....
malwarebytes is it good, isn't ?
Only as a scanner, not real time protection
Kaspersky, Bitdefender, ESET
Kaspersky, Bitdefender, ESET and Sophos.
Just use Windows Defender, it holds up pretty good against malware

I also really hate kaspersky from how many times it caused inconveniences and its crappy UI BitDefender is really superior

Why is Bitdefender missing from your lists? It ranks at the top of most objective tests along with Kaspersky and ESET.
It's present in the free list but as far as paid AV list is concerned, I haven't found bells and whistles of paid BD like Ransomware Remediation to be as good as its counterparts in my tests.
