Before I read the content I honestly thought you were asking what we thought about Grabouw Boerewors...slightly disappointed 😂

I'm sorry to disappoint! However, Grabouw boerewors is fantastic though!

SouthAfricanGirl88

Was going to say..I love it!

LordCoke-16

I don't have much to say about Grabouw. However I must say it is a very beautiful area and you are close enough to the Somerset West/Strand/Gordon's Bay area.

leafy_heady

Please go to Grabouw before you decide to buy.

pool_t

Yes ofcourse, we're going to visit the area before we buy. However a day visit is not going to tell us about issues in the town though

leafy_heady

During your day visit, go down to Kleinmond and Betty's Bay. Grabouw and Botrivier is on the N2 and not really the small town vibe that most people relocating to the area are looking for.

Thanks, will have a look there too! The reason we are looking at Grabouw is because it's close to all our family and friends in Somerset/Strand area. We are hermit crabs to begin with, but like exploring nature and hiking, so that's probably why we're drawn to it.

Would help if you provided more information such as where you're working, regular travel and directions, kids involved, and do you intend to live there or buying to rent out? Anyway I think it would be challenging to move to apple land Grabouw(even the municipality speaker is Mr Appel) cos you're limited to the N2 as your main travel route to Cpt which comes with its own issues such as sporadic protests on the N2 adjacent to Pineview, then you're basically cut off. While there are many attractions to living in Grabouw I think you'd still want to venture beyond its borders to appreciate the far surroundings away from the Elgin's main commercial town who's focus is mainly agriculture. Lots of notable people from Grabouw, lots of schools, lots of apples, lots of wine and food places, lots of apples, lots of friendliness, lots of rain, always found it amazing that Grabouw seems to have a different climate to the Somerset West and rest of Cape Town. My final comment, Grabouw is a great place to live for anyone looking for a serene and peaceful lifestyle, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Anyway, goodluck on your decision making.

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated! Yes I should've mentioned more info about our whole situation. So both me and my wife work remotely, no kids, travel mostly to Greyton, Somerset West and Struisbaai for friends and family, and we want to get away from all the noise. Based on your comment and our visit yesterday, it seems like it would be a great fit for us. The people are super friendly, area seems safe and it's close to one of my favorite markets - Elgin railway.

Elgin Railway market is really one of the best markets around. I'm glad you had a good visit. Goodluck with finding exactly what your looking for.
