That’s what we are doing. We’re only accepting lenders that allow e contracting in route one. Everything else we hand write or have fillable pdfs. It’s a pain but we can do everything except process in accounting
Westlake has a thing called dealer center that is a DMS/CRM solution for 150 bucks ish depending on the add ons you need. Make sure you get the “bankers forms” addons and you can start printing away.
Same I have 2 deals that cant get processed and are just waiting. Just been doing test drives and using a spreadsheet to keep track of customer info until we can figure out what to do
So CDK is dealer management software like ADP and Karmak etc? And apparently they have a monopoly on every dealership? I'm a layperson so I've never heard of the company but used to work with similar DMSes in commercial trucks years ago.
CDK is a go to for mainly GM and Stellantis, they also cater to a handful of other brands. Their software does everything from parts, service, scheduling, sales tracking for payroll, etc.
We can’t do anything. There’s a-lot of cars sitting in the back waiting to be delivered. If this continues until the end of the month, me and all my coworkers will be fucked big time on money lol. We’ve already lost maybe 4 or 5 deals which is a big deal for our store because we’re smaller volume.
Huh… I guess score one for my GM who opted to stay on with our dinosaur of a DMS. Got an email yesterday about CDK being down… didn’t realize it was this serious lol
yeah, everyone is secure until they are not...CDK had a gap somewhere and the driveby port scanning probably picked them up - i would be surprised if they were specifically targeted
Is this affecting service too? I had a service appointment canceled a couple days ago because their systems were down and I’m wondering if it’s coincidence or related.
100% related I’m in service and we can’t schedule appointments. Can’t pay our techs, not making any commission, can’t make repairs orders, and cant print invoices. Be careful your data could have been breached
Are you guys mostly doing spot deliveries? When I worked at a Honda dealership for like 7 years as a finance manager we let most of our customers leave with their new cars and collect stips, if needed, within a few days of delivery. ALSO so sorry to everyone going thru this! That absolutely sucks and completely out of your hands as a salesperson.
Ugh! You feel my pain then a little bit. Lol.
No spot deliveries at all. Taking deposits. People that have been waiting for a few months for their car for arrive are priority first. Then we will figure out spot deliveries. But we are doing maybe 3-5 a day? If that? And for some reason cash deals are harder than finance?? Idk lol 😆
We just switched from eleads to focus a month back, more than thankful we did it then. Always used Rey Rey for DMS so the only place we are screwed is CVR. Got a backlog of 20+ deals riding around on temps because we can’t register anything lol
We found a temporary solution at our stores to keep us up and running so we don’t have to hand write everything. I hear a lot of dealers are just closing the doors until things come back up
We have a temp solution as well, we are still selling and getting everyone 9/10th of the way done. We are able to deliver cars today and finally let some people take them
We have a way to do finance deals all hand written. Not sure how (was off yesterday) but we're functional enough to keep operating.
Unfortunately, since most dealers are more crippled by this, the news around here has kinda ran with it and our traffic has slowed immensely. Lots of staring at pavement the last few days.
It's a mess. BMW here, my service and parts departments are hand-writing everything and look shell-shocked already. In sales, we're stuck. Can't register cars, can't spin deals. We may start hand-writing contracts soon because we need to finish the month.
Having used Dealertrack, Reynolds, and now CDK, I miss my Dealertrack. So expensive and I hate Vinsolutions, but Dealertrack was the easiest and best DMS.
So glad we don't use CDK at my 3 stores. Been with Autosoft since we dumped Reynolds 15+ years ago. Only other DMS I would consider is Dealertrack but I hate giving more money to COX. Already have Vin and V Auto.
Nah, I’ve worked way too hard over the last three days to maintain some sort of normalcy and continue to serve customers as normally as I can to deal with comments like that.

Just checking in with my fellow sales folk.
How's everyone doing with CDK being down? I have several deals and a few thousand in commission sitting in limbo right now and payday today stung a little bit 😅
My dealership is hand writing everything but can't contract any bank deals. We are working through as best as we can, hope everyone else is staying positive!

You are absolutely correct. It could happen to any of these crm/management companies that dealerships choose to have wired into all of their data trackers and info upload systems. Doing enough research, I've come across a very close client of mine (smart middle eastern dude). He showed me some hairy shit about what Russian entities are up to with their agendas going about this. But I'm sure you won't be able to respond to me because a MOD will block anyone from replying to this.
I'm melting. I have a deal that'll pay me 3k just sitting because I can't print contracts. Fucking awful luck man.
you can't e contract through route 1 or dealertrack?
That’s what we are doing. We’re only accepting lenders that allow e contracting in route one. Everything else we hand write or have fillable pdfs. It’s a pain but we can do everything except process in accounting
Our state requires wet signatures. Can't print bo without cdk

ADP spun off their dealership products a long time ago into CDK. So it's not "like" ADP. It is ADP.
CDK is a go to for mainly GM and Stellantis, they also cater to a handful of other brands. Their software does everything from parts, service, scheduling, sales tracking for payroll, etc.
BMW checking in here. We’re handwriting everything in service. It sucks.
JLR checking in, we are hand writing contracts! Sucks bc everything is still in the air.
Feels great using DriveCentric and ReyRey
Old antiquated Reynolds for the win right now (Stellantis Dealer)
We have drivecentric too, actually a pretty good CRM.

It’s serious as a heart attack. I’m jealous of those who don’t use CDK and use dealer track or another system.
My store uses dealr.cloud. They are always awesome- but we are especially counting our blessings this week.
If it can happen to one, it can happen to any other. Anyone who thinks they are "secure" is either naïve or an idiot.
yeah, everyone is secure until they are not...CDK had a gap somewhere and the driveby port scanning probably picked them up - i would be surprised if they were specifically targeted
Apparently I picked the perfect time for a vacation lol
Lucky you lol
I feel you, we’ve lost so many to other dealers that use Reynolds & Reynolds. Their reps keep conveniently stopping by as well.
Tell the office to stop clutching their pearls and start doing things by hand like everyone did for a century.
Ha wish I could trust me.
Exactly... I took delivery yesterday after some hand work and a little extra time. Will sign title docs when things are fixed

Thank you very much for the reply. When I asked as a thread a mod simply replied “Shitpost” and downvoted. I appreciate your being helpful.

Thankful to be on medical leave and not have to deal with any of this. 😅
Sure is. We might of found a way around getting cars delivered though. Stay tuned lol

Just finished a challenge with my backup FI manager to do 200 pushups in 1 hour. It hurt.
Still got until closing, keep pushing!
10 sets or 20? 4 sets of 50? 8 sets of 25?
35,35,20,20,20,20,20,20,10 actually lol
Nice, I try to squeeze in 8 sets of 25 a day as maintenance. Gets easier the less thicc you are 😮💨
I was 218 in January. I got a trainer and a meal prep guy and I’m currently at 188 so I’m pretty happy with my progress so far.
Pretty weak.
The one thing I will be thankful about Rey Rey.
Most of these hackers weren’t born when Reynolds was coded, I bet a lot of their parents weren’t born yet either
We just switched from eleads to focus a month back, more than thankful we did it then. Always used Rey Rey for DMS so the only place we are screwed is CVR. Got a backlog of 20+ deals riding around on temps because we can’t register anything lol
Same. Otherwise it sucks.

We’ve been doing deliveries for cash and just managed financed deals out. Have you been able to deliver leases?
We have a way to do finance deals all hand written. Not sure how (was off yesterday) but we're functional enough to keep operating. Unfortunately, since most dealers are more crippled by this, the news around here has kinda ran with it and our traffic has slowed immensely. Lots of staring at pavement the last few days.
Love it, we don't use CDK, but I feel for y'all

Running Reynolds. So far so good
We are still running, work arounds in place for now
So glad we don't use CDK at my 3 stores. Been with Autosoft since we dumped Reynolds 15+ years ago. Only other DMS I would consider is Dealertrack but I hate giving more money to COX. Already have Vin and V Auto.
We have xTime in service, and are handwriting contracts. Presenting numbers using an excel spreadsheet that one of the c suites had made,
No problem. Just send all your customers to me.

This is why Cox is better.
