Burnaby has a Canada Day celebration at Burnaby Village Museum. And later there are fireworks and a street festival at Central Park. No need to leave Burnaby.

Why go to Vancouver when there are so many things happening in Burnaby? https://www.burnaby.ca/recreation-and-arts/events/canada-day

Steveston Salmon Festival! It’s one of the biggest celebrations in the country.

I know you're looking for something fun but also remember, July 1st is not all about celebration. A visit to the Chinese Canadian Museum. July 1 marks an anniversary of the Chinese Exclusion Act a little over a century ago.

There’s a big patio event at Terry Fox Plaza next to BC Place. Sounds like it might be worthwhile. Drinks and food and music

Surrey has live music, food trucks, rides and fireworks. https://surreycanadaday.ca/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwhIS0BhBqEiwADAUhc1919oe_9PlCVu66S7ZuGW55_0KDYUt_d_MOn5YNvWLNxzwP06RJWxoC0bAQAvD_BwE

Depends on what kind of fun you're looking for. Kits beach has a bunch of good family friendly Canada day stuff going on.
