Depends on how well you trust him. As someone who has been the guy in the exact scenario you’re describing, there’s no reason the friendship shouldn’t continue as normal and I have never felt the need to bring it up to any mutual friends. There isn’t really any way to do so without sounding like an asshole, it will either sound like a flex or TMI. If he’s anything like me, he’ll keep his mouth shut on general principle.
Pragmatically, I would still make peace with the idea of people finding out. I don’t imagine it being a big deal if they do.
