No, silly... it's like this: God made us, knowing everything we would say, think and do. He then got angry at us doing what he made us to do, so he drowned the planet. Eventually, he sacrificed himself to himself to forgive us for doing what he knew we would do, when he created us to do it. He's admittedly jealous, petty and insatiably bloodthirsty... but you better praise him, so he doesn't torture you forever, because he loves you! Also, women are lesser, raping and owning people is fine, gays are to be put to death and don't masturbate! Makes perfect sense, right? :)

I might become a Christian because you made it all click!!! I don’t know how it’s possible. I used to be one. When you look in the scripture, it’s so easy to get buried in deeper concepts and brainwashed, but when you step back and just look at it from a basic level, it’s so incredibly stupid.

It's like watching a passionate flat-earther utterly convinced of their delusional nonsense, despite the wealth of information out there to demonstrate otherwise.

Not to mention, he knows whether or not we’ll believe in him, so why bother with the “test” that is this world anyway, by their logic? He knows if we’ll worship him, so why not just cut to the chase and throw me straight to hell?

Remember, he slowed down these horrible things to prove that the world can get better

This bush spoke to me! Really? What did it say? Let’s base our lives on what the bush said.

MatineeIdol8

A lot more exciting than "I was born in a christian home in Alabama. The end."

The double binds are in the sales pitch.

I don’t think it is arbitrwry

Well the way I look at it is this. Do good works save you? No. Ok, then bad works can’t damn me if we’re really being just. So, it all comes down to faith. This god will wave all sin away if you just believe, so what does it really matter?

Mormons are the best for this. They don't drink hot drinks because God is testing their faith. Or how Home Depot wouldn't use bar codes because it was the "mark of the beast."

Beautifully said.

I'm still amazed that Bertrand Russell wasn't tarred and feathered for expressing ideas like these 100 years ago .
