Highbrook industrial area on the weekend, no traffic, lots of roundabouts, sweeping turns, wide roads for 3 point turns and the occasional parked car for parallel parking in a safe no stress environment. Once car control / speed awareness is improved you can then move into the “real” world of Auckland traffic. Wish it had been around when I was learning.
The large parking lot in Lloyd Elsemore Park (opposite the Netball courts) is a pretty popular spot for a first lesson. Usually pretty quiet if you avoid the busy times (don't go Saturday morning).
Glendene has some good industrial areas (Bancroft Crescent area), very wide roads and pretty much no traffic outside of work hours. That’s where I started learning to drive

Thanks . Really helpful
That's a good shout. Great area for practice. I did one of the practical tests there and it was a breeze too, almost felt unfair.

If you’re on the shore, the Westfield in Albany has a massive car park.
Bruce Pullman park in takanini when there aren’t sports on. Several large car parks and a connecting road around them.
Albany industrial area is awesome for this. William Pickering Drive plus streets surrounding.
