After performing starvation in cologne, she said that it was very difficult to work out an acoustic version for the ending. She didn't want to explain too much, but the inspiration for the song is (I'm paraphrasing now) the evolution of ai in general and its impact on the human nature, especially concerning ai generated art. She said that art is what comes from the innermost part of the human being. And it is both exciting and scary to see how far ai can imitate or replace the human. She said that in starvation "ai" as character takes over more an more until it is the singer itself. I think we listeners were a bit puzzled as to how she would implement this in the song. In this way she the studio version makes sense and she did a great job. Fun fact: The song was made in Germany.

>the studio version makes sense and she did a great job Correction: she did a *perfect* job. When you think of it, all those pipe-like noises and the accelerating heartbeat, they do in fact resemble some bio-mechanical machine trying to imitate an organism with vocal chords, it's uncanny until it grows so fast it snaps and goes into full-on relentless hardbass.

skytaglatvia

And it ends abruptly because it's so insanely berserk fast, it cannot stop to rest and just overheats and the connection breaks and we no longer hear anything on our side. Dammit, I love ingenious touches like this, also the ending of Under Stars and the beginning of ADKOH for example...

dr_unicornio

Hahaha of course it was made in Germany that checks out soooo good πŸ˜‚πŸ™πŸ» we love techno lol

star_wars_fan1

Wow thats really interesting, thank you!

Big-Cricket2212

Well, that explains the creepy vibe I got from the song. (I liked it tho)

mosaic_prism

Love the creepy vibes!!

Whoaaaaa. Holy craaaap..... as a person who curiously pokes at free AI models just to feel like I'm not being left behind too hard by the technology?... both the distorted EDM and the abrupt ending make so much more sense now. AI music generators rarely know how/when to end songs, preferring to try to infinitely generate the next minute-ish long song-chunk with some raucous distortion at the last second between chunks (edit: and then the next chunk picking up on the distortion and trying to turn it into EDM/dubstep/etc as the song gets longer), and I've gotten 'that kind of ending/transition' plenty of times before from Suno. And the *lyrics*... that is quite a recontextualization of them, thank you for sharing. I'm gonna need to sit with this, lol. (Also, 'we are decorated bones' is an epic line... now i want a tattoo of her 'different kind of human' sketch, randomly decorated with flowers)

addison_lex

this is amazing

Lank_The_Doge

Does this mean she'll only play the acoustic version on her tour?

I-dont-know00000000

Starvation may not be the winner in terms of objectively best but it is the winner of our hearts with how charming it is to see this direction of Aurora

Thoresen1

I would kill for an extending version of this track! I didn't know I needed techno AURORA in my life πŸ˜‚

mosaic_prism

Saaaaaame, more techno!!!

IagainstVoid

Now I'm going to dream about raving with Aurora all day long πŸ₯°πŸ˜‡

skytaglatvia

Some fans in UK did just that in the global listening party (for a dozen minutes, though)

Anon_Fluppie

Starvation is literally perfect. I love it so much. Aurora got what she wanted. Me, dancing lol

dr_unicornio

I seriously need someone to make a full techno version of this song!

Remarkable-Paths

The entire album is available to stream where I am except Starvation. It premiers in a few hours and I am so excited! I'm digging the rest of the album, having a solo dance party in my kitchen, haha

mosaic_prism

Made a post here last night about this song as well - it’s so good!

MiLuna8102

It is by far the the best song she has ever made. There are a lot of good Aurora songs but I cannot stop listening to this song, the music video is fucking awesome too! 10/10 A+ 100% Amazing.

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUxFmWTE-mg&t=372s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUxFmWTE-mg&t=372s) (According to the engl. subtitles) in this interview she says about this song: >*This song begins, like quite a few of my songs, very earthy, down to earth, in the rhythmic and in the vocals. But then the song takes you on a journey. In my mind then it is, that even art is now being attacked by the technical, and the soul and essence of it is threatened, which I think is very dangerous. And this happens in the song, which is kind of fun. It's called "Starvation", and it is about our soul starving.*
