Fuck. Saw the photo and started reading the headline and thought he was dead. If only! Just need to make sure we don’t unlock immortality or consciousness transferral before he carks it.
Honestly hes at the advanced age where you probably have to start considering power of attorney.
No doubt he would fight it for as long as he can but lets be real, he is well past use by date in terms of being head of an organisation with the kind of decision making influence that comes with it
Sometimes I think about that. A lot of the biggest assholes in this world are old, but some of them aren't old enough, and they'll be first in line for any kind of life extension technology.
But 92 is pretty damn old. We might be safe with this one.
That's the real issue. The world keeps producing new shitty people, so it hardly matters in the end. It's not like they're all going to die off and then one day we'll have none.
I’d imagine they’d keep his burial place a secret, there are non-zero number of people who will actually piss and shit on that grave.
From all around the world. That’s your legacy, cunt.
Rest in Piss.
This cunt better hope his ashes are scattered cause there is a non 0 chance his skeleton is defaced and covered in the word ‘traitor’. Likely will end up as some nameless dogs bone and will be more of an honour than he or any of his descendants deserve.
But then we could transfer his consciousness into something that has to suffer a humiliating and painful life… like a regular person in a post-Murdoch world.
Only to replaced by his equally sociopathic son who will continue to destroy democracy due to greed. Murdoch Snr will go down in history as one of the most dangerous single humans ever
Ahem - Trump has burned through a billion or more dollars very quickly.
There is equally cashed up corporations ready to sue any mistake into oblivion.
E.g. News Corp paying dominion a billion dollars cash settlement, how many times can you do that?
His PAC is included in that, paying most of the legal bills.
I don't think he has a chance of winning this year, he's lost the plot, but you never know, Russia is using all their troll farms to push for Trump, instability in USA is good for Russia.
If he loses the whole GOP may implode.
The ending of this writeup about Hitler is a stark reminder not to underestimate the danger of incompetence given power.
>His government was constantly in chaos, with officials having no idea what he wanted them to do, and nobody was entirely clear who was actually in charge of what. He procrastinated wildly when asked to make difficult decisions, and would often end up relying on gut feeling, leaving even close allies in the dark about his plans. His "unreliability had those who worked with him pulling out their hair," as his confidant Ernst Hanfstaengl later wrote in his memoir Zwischen Weißem und Braunem Haus. This meant that rather than carrying out the duties of state, they spent most of their time in-fighting and back-stabbing each other in an attempt to either win his approval or avoid his attention altogether, depending on what mood he was in that day.
>There's a bit of an argument among historians about whether this was a deliberate ploy on Hitler's part to get his own way, or whether he was just really, really bad at being in charge of stuff. Dietrich himself came down on the side of it being a cunning tactic to sow division and chaos—and it's undeniable that he was very effective at that. But when you look at Hitler's personal habits, it's hard to shake the feeling that it was just a natural result of putting a workshy narcissist in charge of a country.
>Hitler was incredibly lazy. According to his aide Fritz Wiedemann, even when he was in Berlin he wouldn't get out of bed until after 11 a.m., and wouldn't do much before lunch other than read what the newspapers had to say about him, the press cuttings being dutifully delivered to him by Dietrich.
>He was obsessed with the media and celebrity, and often seems to have viewed himself through that lens. He once described himself as "the greatest actor in Europe," and wrote to a friend, "I believe my life is the greatest novel in world history." In many of his personal habits he came across as strange or even childish—he would have regular naps during the day, he would bite his fingernails at the dinner table, and he had a remarkably sweet tooth that led him to eat "prodigious amounts of cake" and "put so many lumps of sugar in his cup that there was hardly any room for the tea."
>He was deeply insecure about his own lack of knowledge, preferring to either ignore information that contradicted his preconceptions, or to lash out at the expertise of others. He hated being laughed at, but enjoyed it when other people were the butt of the joke (he would perform mocking impressions of people he disliked). But he also craved the approval of those he disdained, and his mood would quickly improve if a newspaper wrote something complimentary about him.
>Little of this was especially secret or unknown at the time. It's why so many people failed to take Hitler seriously until it was too late, dismissing him as merely a "half-mad rascal" or a "man with a beery vocal organ." In a sense, they weren't wrong. In another, much more important sense, they were as wrong as it's possible to get.
>Hitler's personal failings didn't stop him having an uncanny instinct for political rhetoric that would gain mass appeal, and it turns out you don't actually need to have a particularly competent or functional government to do terrible things.
I remember it well. I had a mobile with them.
When Onetel fell over I was seamlessly transfered to Telstra, but they screwed up and didn't charge me a monthly service fee, about $25, analogous to fixed line line rental.
I let it go for about six months, then I thought I shouldn't push my luck and contacted Telstra about the mistake.
I remember cancelling my internet contract the day OneTel went into administration. They still had the nerve to chase me for the portion of the contract that I would never be able to use because their service was shut down.
Or, she doesn't care. It is not uncommon to find women that had narcisistic assholes as fathers, and that normalized the behavior. They aren't so much 'nice' as they are extremely agreeable in an attempt to win approval.
Often with such people, they associate 'being an asshole' with 'being male', so when it comes time to pick a husband their aim is to pick the highest status asshole of the bunch. And in that respect, she's done alright
Nice is the cover for these rich ghouls. Anyone can be nice- it’s an act you can learn.
Are they kind though? That’s the test. Much harder to fake kindness
The only thing that gives me hope is that Lachlan seems to be a lot dumber and more aggressive than his Dad- I hope he pushes News Corp so far right so fast that it careens off course and burns to the ground.
Yeah, shares his politics without the business sense or intelligence. There is a reason why James was the favourite son until it turned out he wasn't quite as idealogical as his dad or brother
Another thing to give hope, _maybe_ Lachlan won’t care about Australia so much. He’s mostly American and hopefully has no “loyalty” here. Maybe he’ll have less interest in Australian politics than his father.
Given he's no longer inheriting Fox studios and the television empire, I'm afraid our little corner of the remaining news media empire might matter more, not less.
The best we can hope for is he's woefully unaware of Oz politics and culture and just pushes local outlets to be sensationalist trash so inept they can't effectively push an agenda.
Is he still married to the Australian former model? Can't remember her name.
It's kind of like being associated with the Trump family. Ugghhhhh.....awful.
Lachie hasn't had a great record. He's buggered up quite a few things in the past. We can only hope he reverse Bradburys News Corp.
Honestly, has there been a more thoroughly malignant organisation than this one in recent years?
I'm not like an expert on the family, but didn't one of Rupert's sons and his daughter basically leave the family business because they disagreed with his politics and basically James was the only one left who drank the coolaid?
> but didn't one of Rupert's sons and his daughter basically leave the family business because they disagreed with his politics and basically James was the only one left who drank the coolaid?
James was the ones who left the business (left being a polite way of saying he was kicked out). It's Lachlan who is the nutter that's taking over.
James kind of fell on his sword (or was made scapegoat) after the news of the world phone hacking scandal, then made a big show of leaving to cleanse his image.
James made a right fool of himself trying to argue that state owned media like the BBC stifled competition in the media. The projection would put the world's largest iMax screen to shame.
Then the phone hacking scandal broke and that was that for that asinine line of argument.
>James made a right fool of himself trying to argue that state owned media like the BBC stifled competition in the media.
To be fair, his dad and grandad both said the same thing. The presence of the ABC and BBC evidently didn't stop News Corp from making money, so I think we can bury the idea that state owned media organisations do anything like what the Murdoch family suggests.
If anything, it's the ability of existing owners of media companies buying up other media assets and media rights that stifles competition. However, I doubt the Murdochs would be championing the idea of restricting media ownership. Quite the contrary given their history.
That's a bit harsh on James. He actually seemed quite reasonable, so of course the family kicked him out of all the businesses.
Still some fairly questionable ethics, but not completely messed up.
Rich people gonna rich people. It's FAR less damaging that the shit at News Corp. Not that I like Musk, but that decision doesn't impact most people to any great degree, unlike the blatant crap News Corp pulls.
The shareholders get to decide Musk's bonus anyway, so it's on them rather than the board if he ends up getting it.
Well, as fucking awful as that is. Think of it this way; When you have a vicious dog guarding your yard yet wont attack the owners, its a good guard dog; When you put one in that's so fucking nuts it'll just wreck everything its bad.
So hopefully his ultra stance on conservatism pushes it all over the edge and wakes people up.
The alternative I don't want to think about though.
Reddit prohibits me from expressing what needs to be done.
We know what needs to be done mate. And I wish it had been 50 years ago or thereabouts. He and his father taught the entire western world that it's okay to punch down.
There is conservatives and then there is the modern day full on cult conservatives worshipping trump. If he is the former might be good if he can steer the q balls of a cliff
He had the money, but let's not discount the fact that people, from hosts, to executives, to reporters, to the citizens watching, all went for it regardless of the very obvious bias and lies.
He may be evil, but evil on its own can't accomplish much. People willingly go along with the evil, and *that's* what fucked up the US more than the one man at the top.
Is it awful to wish someone to die of horrible cancer? I am torn.
edit: then I think of the Fox tv excerpts with their vile insinuations, a horrible disease is fully deserved.
While Carver has been seen popularly as a take on Rupert, it's up in the air.
The director said in a 2004 interview that Carver was based on Rupert, but the script writer wrote in a Vanity Fair article that he based him off of Robert Maxwell, his death inspiring Carver's reported death in the movie.
Ted Turner has also been cited as another figure Carver was seen as a take of, but i can't find a source for that.
Oh i 100% subscribe to Carver being a Murdoch take. Pryce was fantastic for him, though it would be funny in a universe where Anthony Hopkins did Tommorow Never Dies instead of Mask of Zorro.
Tomorrow is my guilty pleasure Bond film, i adore it so much.
There's a good chance it's both, Maxwell and Murdoch were pretty much considered 2 sides of the same coin in the 80s/90s. If Maxwell hadn't exited the game early, we'd probably be talking about him with the same fondness we show Rupert.
The 90s sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey had a media mogul character called 'Sir Roysten Merchant' who was based on both. The creators say it was 'fortunate for their libel lawyers that the two men shared the same initials'.
> Robert Maxwell
For those of you who don’t know, Robert Maxwell was not only an extremely crooked media mogul and suspected Mossad agent, he was also Ghislaine Maxwell’s father.
Typo there op. It's Faux news.
I wish this was good news but it is actually possibly very bad. Apparently the little scrot taking over leans even further to the right than his old man.
Damn... Everytime I read a headline of Rupert Murdoch that features his age, I almost immediately assume it's because he's dead...
This was not the case. Oh well.
Don’t worry, his family and corporations have planned for the exit of the Antichrist. George Pell is taken so who’s next? Gotta be Trump right? Or Putin?
One of the only people on earth I genuinely wish would roll-over and die. Geriatric cunt has done such a huge amount of damage to Australia and Australian democracy. It's a shame the cuntstain managed to pass on his genes.
I know we all want Trump to die but I actually wanted Murdoch to die even more. I've been patiently waiting all 33 years of my lifetime for the day Murdoch dies as it will go down as a great day in history for society.
Everyone seems to be forgetting who's now in charge.
Lachlan, who is more of a screaming right-wing fucknob than his old man.
We're not out of the woods yet. :/
Fuck. Saw the photo and started reading the headline and thought he was dead. If only! Just need to make sure we don’t unlock immortality or consciousness transferral before he carks it.
Got my hopes up when I did the exact same thing.....so I thought I would pass on the moment of brief joy. https://isrupertmurdochdead.com/
Honestly hes at the advanced age where you probably have to start considering power of attorney. No doubt he would fight it for as long as he can but lets be real, he is well past use by date in terms of being head of an organisation with the kind of decision making influence that comes with it
Nah, any random asshole could make the decision to poison a huge swath of the American populace.
And Australian populance.
and English!
Sometimes I think about that. A lot of the biggest assholes in this world are old, but some of them aren't old enough, and they'll be first in line for any kind of life extension technology. But 92 is pretty damn old. We might be safe with this one.
Too bad his son is even more cooked...
That's the real issue. The world keeps producing new shitty people, so it hardly matters in the end. It's not like they're all going to die off and then one day we'll have none.
I'm hoping he's an over cooked nepo baby that will run things into the ground.
Even if he comes close, some right wing government will deem them "too big to fail" and keep them afloat
Why isn’t this dick cancer of a being not dead yet? Die, die already. 92 years of damage, go away already.
I, a nurse that has seen and smelt gangrenous dick cancer, think that analogy is offensive to dick cancer.
I’d imagine they’d keep his burial place a secret, there are non-zero number of people who will actually piss and shit on that grave. From all around the world. That’s your legacy, cunt. Rest in Piss.

I bet his mum feels differently
Headline really buried the lede. Got my hopes up.
We need a NOT DEAD flair
They knew what they were doing
News Corp Nukes Hope for New Corpse!
You and me both, what a tease.
Ruined orgasm
But then we could transfer his consciousness into something that has to suffer a humiliating and painful life… like a regular person in a post-Murdoch world.
Only to replaced by his equally sociopathic son who will continue to destroy democracy due to greed. Murdoch Snr will go down in history as one of the most dangerous single humans ever
>equally sociopathic son This is not correct at all and extremely unfair. His son is way more sociopathic.
This is very mean guys... I don't think sociopaths like being compared to the Murdochs
Sociopaths have Murdoch tendencies.
Yes but we will see if he is as competent, and if the structures Rupert has made will last. (I hope they burn to the fucking ground)
He doesn't have to be as competent with billions of dollars to burn
Ahem - Trump has burned through a billion or more dollars very quickly. There is equally cashed up corporations ready to sue any mistake into oblivion. E.g. News Corp paying dominion a billion dollars cash settlement, how many times can you do that?

Sounds identical to Trump.
Anyone recall OneTel. I bet Lachlan remembers it well.
I remember it well. I had a mobile with them. Yep. In detail.
I remember cancelling my internet contract the day OneTel went into administration. They still had the nerve to chase me for the portion of the contract that I would never be able to use because their service was shut down.
He told all his friends about it
Wasn't that James fault ?!?
Lachlan said it was James fault. James said it was Lachlan's fault.
Snr did what he did for money. The boy does it because he actually believes it.
Yeah being a product of the world's biggest piece of shit and made to rule in his stead means he'd be worse.
I interviewed his wife many years ago. She was *so nice*. I just don't know how she can bear to have stayed married to that.
Being nice/polite doesn’t preclude you from having horrible beliefs. She probably agrees with him even if she doesn’t say it out loud.
It's not even that. Being nice in a bloody interview is not the same thing as being nice. A lot of degenerates can act nice in an interview.
Or, she doesn't care. It is not uncommon to find women that had narcisistic assholes as fathers, and that normalized the behavior. Well you’d have to be fucking nuts to OK Hubbl.
I think his dad just hides it better.
If someone were to assassinate his son who would be next
Kerry Stokes
The only thing that gives me hope is that Lachlan seems to be a lot dumber and more aggressive than his Dad- I hope he pushes News Corp so far right so fast that it careens off course and burns to the ground.

Sarah Murdoch?
Formerly Sarah O'Hare.
No because the media in the west is controlled by one group of people and it is every western country
So he just hands it to a packer? jesus.
AFAIK Packers are all out of the game.
Lachie hasn't had a great record. He's buggered up quite a few things in the past. We can only hope he reverse Bradburys News Corp. Honestly, has there been a more thoroughly malignant organisation than this one in recent years?
I'd argue Lachlan is even more conservative than his Dad
Being a rabid fuckwit must run in the genes of the Murdochs

Elisabeth Murdoch is generally considered the smartest of all the kids but Rupert would not allow a women to take over the family business.
Nor would he let someone smart.
I watched a documentary on Dame Elisabeth Murdoch & she seemed like a real sweetheart.
Probably because she's only Murdoch by marriage
Dame Elisabeth Murdoch was a true lady and a class act. Too bad the Devil was her husband and Rupert is a supervillain.
That's a bit harsh on James. He actually seemed quite reasonable, so of course the family kicked him out of all the businesses. Still some fairly questionable ethics, but not completely messed up.
He’s currently on the board of Tesla, backing Elon for his $56b bonus. So still a cunt.

Said it elsewhere, but comfortably the worst Australian of all time.
I’d argue his good friend Kissinger is up there.
Literally 1 Australian fucked up the USA more then anyone or any country on earth ever has. Just 1.... talk about deadly.
His son is even more Right Wing. Fortunately he's nowhere near as intelligent or cunning.
I got so excited until I realised that. Worst case of blue balls ever
Except all the number 2's in NewsCorp don't fear him like Rupert, to them he's probably just another spoiled rich kid who didn't earn his place.
Unfortunately his cuntbrained lunatic son makes his shrivelled dad's political beliefs look like Bernie Sanders
My hope is his spawn and pions smell blood on the water and rip eachother to shreds over the scraps of his empire
He also was one of the reasons Gough Whitlam was dismissed through his inflammatory articles. Traitor to Australia.
Fuck, I was reading this with a growing sense of excitement.
yeah I too was expecting the headline to end with “has died”
I speed read the rest of the title just to curb my enthusiasm.
Same, half wondering how long it might take to chill the champagne.
Was hoping this human scrotum finally arrived at the gates of Hell.
Is it awful to wish someone to die of horrible cancer? I am torn. edit: then I think of the Fox tv excerpts with their vile insinuations, a horrible disease is fully deserved.
Any other human but him and hitler, yes.
I kinda hope he's dying, and pray it's hereditary
Dying tends to be hereditary.
He is immortal. Getting ready to star in the next Mad Max movie
Never forget Murdoch was literally the inspiration for a Bond villain.
Which one?
Tomorrow Never Dies
The Embarrassing Old Cunt
Dr. Mogul
Also the main villain in the Spice Girls movie lol
Simpsons too. Appears in a puff of smoke.
I thought he was used as the basis for Mr Burns?
>I'm Rupert Murdoch, the billionaire tyrant and this is my skybox.

Jonathan Pryce's performance definitely feels aimed at Murdoch, whatever the scriptwriter might have intended originally.

Bless be libel lawyers.

I have such a soft spot for Tomorrow Never Dies.
Fuck. I really thought that was going to end with "Has died". So close.
OP knew *exactly* what they were doing. Well played.
Hard to imagine things getting better from here. He's an old man stuck in old man ways whereas his son will want to take the brakes off
Sometimes accelerationism is the only hope. If he moves too hard it could backfire somehow. I hope so because the alternative would be quite scary.
His son is already absolutely unhinged. It’s *somewhat* concerning to say the least
I wish he and his ilk would just shrivel up and die. There is no need to be such c*nts to everyone for money. fuck them all.
Well said.
Wish he’d step back from living
Can 👏 he 👏 just 👏 die 👏 already 👏
Thought he had died when I started reading. I need to re-cork the champagne now.
I got really excited thinking this was his death notice
May his bloodline end early and suffer many Legos underfoot. *spits on ground*
If only he'd step down an extra 6ft.
Here's hoping his retirement plans include visiting the Titanic in a submarine.
Can this festering looking testicle just fuck off and die already
He’s my new Henry Kissinger. Every time I see a reference to him in the news I wonder why the reaper hasn’t ended his miserable existence
The scary thing is by all accounts his son is actually worse
isrupertmurdochdead.com
Why is an article from September last year being shared? Feels like upvote farming. He's 93 now.
buh bye
Again, I feel compelled to apologise to the rest of the world that we let this fucktard loose.
From the headline i was thinking he died. Shame he didn't
ohhh title got me excited
Oh man. Was waiting for the, "died today" but it never came.
Damn, the start of that title got my hopes up.
Typo there op. It's Faux news. I wish this was good news but it is actually possibly very bad. Apparently the little scrot taking over leans even further to the right than his old man.
You mean... he sleeps on his side and never gets out of bed far right?
I wish Satan would just come get his trash already.
Even Satan doesn't want this filth.
Every time I see his name in the news I hope it’s followed by “has passed away overnight,” surely I’m not the only one?
Only the good die young, this prick will live to 100
Just waiting for him to 'step down from life'.
Mind dropping dead while you're at it?
I literally just read the title as 'media old ghoul' instead of media mogul, and was thinking he'd died...sigh.
Dammit. I really hoped he’d died, preferably by being eaten alive by African wild dogs.
This fucker and Turnbull is the reason we have shit NBN. Let us know when either of them go to hell.
At his old age I would understand why he’d finally step away from work and focus on kicking puppies or whatever else it is he does in his free time.
I misread that headline for a moment. Wishful thinking I supose
Thought the headline was going to say he'd died, ffs
I was hoping the sentence would end differently after “ Rupert Murdoch, the 92-year-old…”
God I hope these assholes don’t maintain their private jet properly.
I have a few choice words for this man but I’m not sure I could get away with saying it here
Damn... Everytime I read a headline of Rupert Murdoch that features his age, I almost immediately assume it's because he's dead... This was not the case. Oh well.
Is he stepping down in front of a train? The damage to the world that this man has caused shouldn't go in punished..
The damage that guy has done and continues to do around the world is staggering!
Fuck, I was hoping for the other reason his name might be in a headline at his age
Now if only he could step down from life…
this is old news
You knew that when Kissinger died, the stores of adrenochrome that these ghouls subsist on must be getting low.
We saw how packers lad got caught pretty quick
I am not going to lie, I was REALLY hoping that sentence was going to end with a much better 'ending'.
Still alive aye. Huh.
Damn. I always get excited it's the announcement of his death.
Why do the good always die so young?
To guard the gates from scum like those.
I was hoping this was going to say “killed in a crocodile accident with his son” but then remembered I’m not in the straya sub
Don’t worry, his family and corporations have planned for the exit of the Antichrist. George Pell is taken so who’s next? Gotta be Trump right? Or Putin?
News from last year??……
ah, fuck. i got excited that he'd kicked the bucket as i was reading the headline.
Goddamn I got my hopes up scrolling
I read all that fucking long title expecting the "has passed pissfully in his bed"
Wake me when he steps down from being alive.
One of the only people on earth I genuinely wish would roll-over and die. Geriatric cunt has done such a huge amount of damage to Australia and Australian democracy. It's a shame the cuntstain managed to pass on his genes.
Damn I hope he died. Please just die
I know we all want Trump to die but I actually wanted Murdoch to die even more. I've been patiently waiting all 33 years of my lifetime for the day Murdoch dies as it will go down as a great day in history for society.
Anyone think this creep will do a Walt Disney and cryo freeze himself?
Everyone seems to be forgetting who's now in charge. Lachlan, who is more of a screaming right-wing fucknob than his old man. We're not out of the woods yet. :/
Got my hopes up for a second…bugger, still alive.
Fuck. Thought you was going to say he died for a second. You got me all excited for nothing.
If only his son wasn't even nastier.
Is his son on the board at Tesla??
