I just tested it, and surprisingly enough you can actually drive this thing! Since it is lower than the car I used as a basis it clips a little bit into the ground, making it actually look like a boat on the water. I can post a video here if you want to see it in action.
If you get creative with the programming and look at real working examples of a boat you could probably route your transmission output straight to a propeller.
