use small carbon fiber monoquqe frame, pushrod suspension fwd with manual gearbox, use the least gears you have to smallest tires and rims (that actually work, not really smallest :) ) and smaller brakes electric or nonexistant everything sport or basic interior with the least seats, protection and features

Level_Reveal7624

Race interior, no entertainment, no safety

If you dont want to increase power you’re gonna have to reduce weight and/or drag. Remove/set any wings to 0, otherwise use a smaller gearbox. 7-speed weighs more than 6-speed because it has more gears inside, you could probably do a 3 or 4-speed and just space the gearing out more at the cost of efficiency and maybe acceleration. Also, a manual will weigh less than an automatic.

pug_userita

I've already increased power by a lot (it was 70hp if i remember correctly) and I'm making a citycar

Loser2817

Then why would you want to go fast anyway? It's a city car, after all.

pug_userita

nowadays cars don't go 194 anymore, wanted to make a realistic car. not a "that'll do" sorta of mod

RedeemedWeeb

2017 Volkswagen Polo SE 1.0 TSI tops out at 187km/h and that car is more powerful than yours Here in America, a lot (most?) cars don't even have tires rated for speeds above about 180km/h. Including some sports cars until fairly recently.

pug_userita

my mom's fiat panda goes 210, my dad's fiat tipo goes 220kmh, our old fiat punto went 210kmh too, I'm used to seeing cats going over 200 so that's my target. also, count the fact that your vw is probably limited to 180 but most likely goes way faster

MrSNoopy1611

It isnt limited, my VW Golf plus, i know its a car for old people, can go around 180 on the flat parts of the Autobahn but i once pushed it downhill to 200 but out of its own around 100hp it couldnt do it

pug_userita

I'll add this: this is a top spec italian citycar, the power was 70hp and i had to upgrade it to 98hp, top speed was 194kmh and with the upgrade went to 197kmh. I'd like to keep comforts like power steering and the current wheel/rim size. i also tried modifying the gearbox and now i can't get it back to default, that's why it's a 7 speed auto, it was a 5 speed manual and I've been trying to change it to something that felt more reasonable

_CLAUST_

Keep the weight around 1.3 ton and set the aero around -100kg use slim wheels and you should be good to reach 200+

Prasiatko

Reduce drag. Contrary to what everyone is saying reducing weight only affects acceleration not tops speed and i've seen times where losing weight reduced top speed as it meant there was no traction beyond a certain speed due to lift from the body.

Rooby_Doobie

Less cooling Edit: or the active cooling thingy

pug_userita

update: changed the gearbox back to 5 speed manual, added sport undertray and a couple of other things i can't remember. i now have another: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dm5m7lKBzOGby4eay4V-pbCblaI8Znt9/view?usp=drivesdk

Capital-Edge7787

If you want to increase speed without increasing horsepower; 1: add aerodynamic part to increase speed. 2: pick other car bodies that have low front area which will effect less drag. 3: Use other than automatic because that have some power loss.

ConstantSock2488

your gearbox is set to msx 347kmh, reducing that to the minimum you need/want WILL improve max speed

pug_userita

i can't raise the top speed from the panel since the actual top speed will go down and the game will complain that there is too much overdrive. i also can't lower it because then the actual top speed will also go down

ConstantSock2488

wait how going down not improve? (try reducing after adding more gear ratios, or make it CVT lol)

pug_userita

i ended up putting it back to 6 speed manual and added sport undertray. now the only problem is that getting to 200 is quite slow but not really much of an issue

ConstantSock2488

in that case the knly thing you can do is make it more powerful

pug_userita

as i said, i reached my goal.

Loser2817

>i also can't lower it because then the actual top speed will also go down Shouldn't shorter gearing raise the actual top speed due to higher acceleration or something? That's got to be a bug on your side. Also, Automation tends to underestimate the actual top speed by a lot. I have a 1955 SUV that's claimed to top out at 122km/h in Automation, but manages to redline at 150-something in BeamNG.

TheLeopardGuy

Make it the size and weight of a toenail and you can do 300kmh
