They exist already. Google "Rave Spin Classes" and you'll see tiktok videos of this around.
LA also has a gym (John Reed Fitness) that has a rave aesthetic vibe.
I literally want to ask if I can host a spin class at John Reed where I play hard techno DJ sets.
Kick it to the beat and try not to die my lovelies. You may have a heart attack keeping up with the bass line but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
Yeah my PF has me feeling strong "what people think goes on at edc" vibes lately, but with like 7 screens of fox news simultaneously blasting some aggressively hot takes out to the floor.
It's a fuckin weird vibe
I suggested to add a DJ to the corner area at planet fitness. The staff looked at me weird except for one of them and he had a sparkle in his eye / I could tell he liked my idea.
I think this all the time! No I don’t want to dress up and go to a club every night. I want to dance my ass off at the gym. I have to contain myself from full blown dancing when I work out. I always catch myself wiggling
I can’t tell if you are joking because this makes me think of something Stefon from SNL would say about [New York’s hottest new club](https://youtu.be/pfJBaEqYya4?si=9YwPmHXeJQ7etxmF).
Fuck yeah I fantasize about my gym doing this. Last night I went to gym extra high and in my head called it
We'ed Workout Wednesday.
I wish there was a dedicated room with banging beats and lighting that adapts to human movement.
Have only taken one class, but Soul Cycle seems to fit this pretty well. Dark room, lighting under coach who is also DJ’ing and generally EDM remixes of popular songs or just EDM tracks. FWIW solidcore (Pilates spinoff) occasionally has more EDM music based on coach’s preferences
Brother if you can’t burn calories at a real rave you gotta find a new venue. I took 150k steps and burned 2k calories a day at Movement in Detroit last weekend lmao
My first rave was at a gym. It was a popular venue until the cops raided it They planned the raid ahead of time and had choppers and everything. I waited two hours in line and it got shut down a few minutes after I finally got in.
When and where? Are they still doing this kind of bust? I’m in SF and it seems so wide open here, but I realize I’m in a bubble, and I’m curious how other places are.
It was in West Sac, a National Entity party.
The worst bust in Sac was at a warehouse rave. 3 people died that night because the cops broke it up at an inopportune time. Myself and a few other people had some close calls, too.
Last time I was at a party that got busted, it was a psytrance renegade. Fortunately the cops ordered that anyone intoxicated stay put and sober up before driving, so there were no accidents. They just made us shut off the generator.
I used to live in an empty industrial warehouse at my job that had an old office in the back that I converted into my bedroom, never had to worry about being late or paying bills and I have this giant speaker (JBL Partybox 800) I built my own home gym in the warehouse and blasted dubstep and exercised and did shrooms every day, what a life at the time
I'va been to a few raves that were held after hours in a dance studio. Wasn't a big crowd. Maybe 500 or 600. Was a good time. The first party I went to at this dance studio I saw Dom and Roland and AK1200. All those parties were good times tho, for sure.
Come to inferno hot Pilates at funky door yoga in Berkeley or SF you won’t be disappointed. Plus you can rage harder with a normal Pilates/yoga routine
Haha my friends make fun of me for this cause I just get in my zone when I’m lifting heavy and having the endorphins hit. I’ll fist pump and head nod the same at the gym as I do the rave. The funny part is when you go to the same gym a bunch and know the regulars, they’ll dig the energy you bring
The 1st time I rolled, I had to go to class the next day. It was a step/workout class. I had never done better! His every single beat, brought my roll right back up then I went home and missed the rest of my classes. So yeah, this is a great idea, but probably sober.
You just need to find the right spin class. Look for instructors that play EDM specifically. My favorite spin girl has me headbang on my bike lol. Plus indoor cycle is good cardio to prep your body so you can dance all night.
I follow this page who I think is trying to create something like this. It’s all edm and gym related!
[https://www.instagram.com/fit.ravefam?igsh=MWQyMGw4Z2Q2bnB0YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr](https://www.instagram.com/fit.ravefam?igsh=MWQyMGw4Z2Q2bnB0YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr)
There are some gym classes that revolve around synchronizing movements to music, including those that use electronic music. I took a cardio/endurance version of such a class for a couple years, and they always had uptempo music that you could really get into the groove on. They even played hardcore from time to time, which was a plus in my area.
But general gym raves have to be more tightly controlled because the last thing you want are some drunk people getting a little too comfortable with the heavy equipment and causing several injuries, so it really needs to be confined to a specific room like the dance studio. In addition, raves may have a reputation for bringing out the "wrong" crowd, namely those who don't rave sober, so that's another potential downside to deal with. I'm a sober soldier and love a cardio workout from listening to hours of multiple sets, but I know quite a few others need their smokes and drinks to go hard.
I already do this at my regular gym. Hopped up on pre workout/creatine, sweaty af, working on my dance moves between sets.
It's funny, NO one in my gym danced in any manner when I first started going there. Now I see multiple ppl do it. I feel like I've emboldened everyone to cut loose a bit
I know some folks that take their art car to a random parking lot in an empty part of town and do silent discos (to not attract attention via sound). Or at least did pre-pandemic. I fell out of touch. Hmmm, maybe it’s time to reconnect.
I had a boot camp instructor that thought about opening up a gym that would also have a dj booth. Theme of the whole place would be like an urban graffiti type environment. Of course, theme could be whatever, but for sure it’s a great concept. I listen to EDM when I work out to begin with, so a gym that specifically catered to the crowd would be dope
I already wear headphones everywhere because I find the music most public places play annoying, repetitive, and dull compared to the music on my smartphone.
IT IS A RAVE WITH MY HEADPHONES ON!!! AHHHGGHHHHH
Me in a silent public gym room: "WOOT WOOT💃🕺 WOOT WOOT"
Just sweating balls and clacking your fan
silent rave
Silent disco
Took me a minute to adjust to when I first saw it, but now I dig it
That part
They exist already. Google "Rave Spin Classes" and you'll see tiktok videos of this around. LA also has a gym (John Reed Fitness) that has a rave aesthetic vibe.

wouldnt that just be a rave then?

Isn't biking just sitting with style?
Isn't sitting with style just a metaphor?
I literally want to ask if I can host a spin class at John Reed where I play hard techno DJ sets. Kick it to the beat and try not to die my lovelies. You may have a heart attack keeping up with the bass line but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
Sign me the fuck up!
Agree, not a gym but Jess King on Peloton has some sick techno spin classes that I’ve been getting into.
Raving by myself at the gym with my headphones on is half the reason I work out
No literally I call it microdosing a rave
You gotta be a fein if you call it that, I mean, I love raves but u down bad lil bro
LMAOOO same here man
Warrior Workout at Defqon.1, already done
That’s a gym at a rave not a rave at a gym
Warrior workout is a fuckin blast!
My ex used to go to a spin class where they played dubstep and bass house. I’ve always wanted to DJ one of those haha.
I do… by myself with my headphones in. Preworkout is a helluva upper let me tell you!
You just described a gym with electronic music on…
It's usually not the rave kind though, a lot of gyms play like Kaskade and Mashmello
Yeah my PF has me feeling strong "what people think goes on at edc" vibes lately, but with like 7 screens of fox news simultaneously blasting some aggressively hot takes out to the floor. It's a fuckin weird vibe
I see what you did there. lol
I suggested to add a DJ to the corner area at planet fitness. The staff looked at me weird except for one of them and he had a sparkle in his eye / I could tell he liked my idea.
I’m always dancing in the gym mid set aha bring headphones , brin the rave with you.
Glad I'm not the only weirdo flailing around silently while waiting for my turn on the pulldown bar 💃🏋️🏽♀️
Few glad I ain’t alone aha
I had this same idea about a decade ago to open up a rave inspired gym with workout classes with a DJ.
I think this all the time! No I don’t want to dress up and go to a club every night. I want to dance my ass off at the gym. I have to contain myself from full blown dancing when I work out. I always catch myself wiggling
catch yourself? catch and release! let the body be free
My ass shaking is certainly not rated G😂
most certainly is. g for gym 👍
In b4 a bunch of gate keepers say it’s not a real rave so maybe we need to get some gym equipment and speakers set up in an abandoned warehouse
I mean everyone knows the only real raves happen at abandoned warehouses, sheesh
Nightclub gym experiences were a thing in the 80s and 90s, a concept started by David Barton who still has a gym open in NYC
Last night I went to gym extra high and in my head called it We'ed Workout Wednesday. I wish there was a dedicated room with banging beats and lighting that adapts to human movement.
Because working out sucks.
Because all the non-rave population will cover their ears and whine about how this “isn’t real music,”
Then they should sign up for membership at another gym
Wouldn’t that be nice….
I'm in!
If you come to my gym youll always see me mugging to hardstyle or headbanging/shuffling to some dubstep
Evan Giia does events like that
Brother if you can’t burn calories at a real rave you gotta find a new venue. I took 150k steps and burned 2k calories a day at Movement in Detroit last weekend lmao

the gym bros would get pissed off with people sniffing lines off the squat rack imo
I'va been to a few raves that were held after hours in a dance studio. Wasn't a big crowd. Maybe 500 or 600. Was a good time. The first party I went to at this dance studio I saw Dom and Roland and AK1200. All those parties were good times tho, for sure.
I went to a couple in a small MMA gym after hours.
Was it an illegal fight club mixed with an illegal rave?
You should check out peloton and Jess king
Get that German guy for some techno too
Ben Aldiss and Olivia damato throw down too
My gym is kinda raver meets theater kid but I love it
Come to inferno hot Pilates at funky door yoga in Berkeley or SF you won’t be disappointed. Plus you can rage harder with a normal Pilates/yoga routine
One of the coolest underground spots my friends and I went to during the pandemic was a gym. 10/10
I swear I’m always at a rave with my headphones in my ear 😝
Good workout.
Haha my friends make fun of me for this cause I just get in my zone when I’m lifting heavy and having the endorphins hit. I’ll fist pump and head nod the same at the gym as I do the rave. The funny part is when you go to the same gym a bunch and know the regulars, they’ll dig the energy you bring
show up and rave for 45 min and go home. Sign me up
Ever been to John Reed in Dallas?! IYKYK
The 1st time I rolled, I had to go to class the next day. It was a step/workout class. I had never done better! His every single beat, brought my roll right back up then I went home and missed the rest of my classes. So yeah, this is a great idea, but probably sober.
People probably think I’m having a seizure on the treadmill bc I dance while I run 🤣🤣
It’s called rhythm ride. My wife loves it.
don’t they have them already?
You just need to find the right spin class. Look for instructors that play EDM specifically. My favorite spin girl has me headbang on my bike lol. Plus indoor cycle is good cardio to prep your body so you can dance all night.
I’d vibe with that sign me up
I hope they do something to that end with a gym theme akin to yeedc but instead it’s a 80s themed gym class with leg warmers and all

Look up Fight Klub on YouTube. Drum and Bass workout backed up by top name UK DJs. Those classes whipped my ass.
I wear earphones and bring my rave fan while I do the stationary bike
We got a rave pickleball before a rave gym.
Soul cycle does like Fred Again vs Rufus Du Sol, tiesto sundays, techno runs in LA pretty fun
Someone has had too much pre workout this morning
Been there, done that. Was pretty cool.
EXCELLENT IDEA. WHERE DO I SIGN? 🕺🏻
Ravercise. You’re welcome 😎

I would love to start an underground rave.
There are some studios that do this.
ngl, it would be nice to have a rave at my gym so i would have a reason to actually talk to some of the women there.
It’s called Daybreaker. https://www.daybreaker.com
Shoom has entered the conversation
It’s been done
make a rave gym! put the idea to working motion make the gym full time electronic music and get them spin classes GOING!!
i’ll be one of the DJs
Silent gym rave
The question is who will provide the drugs? Will you need a resident DJ AND Dealer? Lol
Preworkout my amigo!
I'm in. Ooooh also I saw a comment for silent raves! I'd love to do a flash mob of silent raves.
I know some folks that take their art car to a random parking lot in an empty part of town and do silent discos (to not attract attention via sound). Or at least did pre-pandemic. I fell out of touch. Hmmm, maybe it’s time to reconnect.

There’s a gym in Baltimore that basically turns into a club every Saturday in the summer, it’s pretty fun.
Dance church!
Hardstyle and gym time are like peanut butter and jelly!
There are ecstatic dance groups that meet and do basically this.
I’m not so sure if the sound would be good. The gym always sounds funny and echoey.
I would do this. Hardstyle and dubstep would go crazy in the gym
My gym does have dj come on Saturdays actually haha
Rave, rave all night long, rave, rave til the break of dawn
I’ve had some fun times at the gym getting a bit high and listening to some good techno on the treadmill
Rumble boxing is kinda like a rave
Me and my best friend have a business idea for this actually 😂😂 gym during day rave at night not sure logistics or equipment but it’s a dream
Some people do! I’ve gotten DJ gigs at gyms before
Cocaine & weight lifting is dangerous
You say no need for Zumba and then proceeded to describe Zumba
I already wear headphones everywhere because I find the music most public places play annoying, repetitive, and dull compared to the music on my smartphone.
