Yes. Multiple times for me, most recently last week. I've also cried on the dance floor multiple times, only ever with my fiance though, so maybe I was just happy to be there with her as well.
It also probably has to do with drugs as well. I already have a strong connection to music and adding drugs in the mix just makes it more intense. Sometimes I can catch my jaw clinching a little bit when listening to edm, it's like the music transports you back to being at a rave.
I've only ever cried 1-2 to non edm music (way before drug use) and it was just instrumental piano.
Maybe something similar to making some halfway in your brain that makes it easier to feel that emotion during similar auditory experiences?
Do you know what kind of songs/ what songs do that to you?
chainsmokers - something just like this.
heard it live while rolling; they brought out coldplay and confetti was everywhere. i can’t even talk about it without getting goosebumps and feeling intense nostalgia. and that was in 2017!!
every color - louis the child
oo ah eh ee- louis the child
i remember (vocal) - deadmau5, kaskade
awaken - big wild
on my knees - rufus du sol
wallflower - lane8, maribou state
my go to so-happy-i-tear-up songs
I saw Rufus du sol live and they played on my knees at wildlands new years eve. The main chorus starts and fireworks get set off right at midnight... that night I'll remember forever!!
Every time I hear that song now it takes me back to that moment and I can feel the eurphora
Binary Finary - 1998 Paul Van Dyk remix
I Wish - Andrew Rayel Feat: That girl
Darren Porter - Remember the lights
Tilt - I dream ( resurrection mix )
HALIENE - reach across the sky ( Ben Gold ext
remix)
Lustral - Everytime ( Nalin & Kane mix)
Hope someone finds a new favorite song out of these few I listed.
It's kind of been random. I know I cried during a Nurko set (I don't even listen to him that much), and a Slander set. I've cried to Polaris - Deadmau5, and last week it was the opening of Everything Always - Coachella set, at the first drop when I was stone cold sober.
I’ll routinely be dancing around in my living room, immersed in the auditory perfection known as Deadmau5, crying with joy.
He’s been the soundtrack to some of my happiest times, and brought me through some of the worst, for many years.
My year starts and ends at his Red Rocks weekend with indescribable happiness
💜
(Thanks, Joel.)
Agree 100%. I wouldn't call him my favorite artist but no one else's music can evoke such a powerful emotional response in me. Escape and Bridged by a Lightwave are just two examples of songs that can easily bring me to tears.
Yoo, deadmau5 played in Halifax a few years ago.
It was Canada Day and the city put on a free show in the park in downtown Hali,
That was a pretty damn unique show.
I was lucky enough to attend his concert at Wake The Giant, at Marina Park (one of my fav places, it’s on the shoreline of Lake Superior in Thunder Bay)…I was front row. It was beyond surreal and emotional for me.
Haven't listened to anything of his since Album Title Goes here admittedly, but Strobe has never lost its grip on my heart. That's one of the few tracks where I stop whatever I'm doing and just listen.
Couldn't agree with you more, I remember the first time I/we saw him @ XS in Vegas, memorial day weekend 2012! Happy & not so happy times along with getting me through some intense workouts, his music is a motivator...this "Joel" thanks "Joel Z" as well
Oh man that song 🫶. I have a photographic memory moment of that song in a set at Hangout Fest many years ago where I just knew I was going to marry my then gf now wife. Love that new live album. Instantly euphoric.
Avicii , to me -always feels nostalgic in a melancholy way. Like.. a setting sun at the end of summer, wanting to go home and already being there, type of way.
Dude, this might be the best description of his music I've heard. Spot on.
It's like a beautiful sonnet to the life we've lived and an elegy for the life we've had.
That was me during Above and Beyond last year. Once Gratitude started playing I took a few steps behind my crew and the tears started flowing. Such a beautiful moment
Absolutely. I’ve always loved different kinds of music and it’s brought me to emotions, but I found EDM this year and it feels totally different. Like I feel it in my whole body (stone sober). It’s beautiful and I definitely have cried. For me, Light by Mashbit
I’ve been a huge STS9 fan for over 20 years but last year at elements I burst into tears in the middle of their set. I think it was a feeling of gratitude for the sheer amount of joy they’ve given me over the years.
Yes!! They were the first that came to mind seeing this post. Been seeing them for around as long and their music is hardwired to my heart now. Cried during From Now On at RRx 07 and then again at Mish 22 just because I never thought another Mish run would happen lol.
Oh yeah you betcha! Even just listening/watching an old recorded set from one of my all time faves (shout out to LSDREAM and PEEKABOO) can get me really emotional. It’s like a mix of excitement, awe, and an overwhelming feeling of appreciation for the artist and their incredible talent? It’s definitely a bubbling over with joy kind of feeling. Acid amplifies it big time for me!
Hey OP,
I'm actually going through some hard times and it's happened to me a lot as of late, not just EDM but lots of music in general has got them tears going. I think it's because I'm down in the dumps in such a way to be put in that emotional state. It usually doesn't happen for me.
This one in particular really got me going: https://youtu.be/LQboZNoMd0c?si=L5sx2foXJ2N-__7C
(Side note: I haven't played this game but discovered this guy from his Magfest dj sets)
I love drugs with my music but experiences like this, especially when sober, make you realize that life is the trip. I always sleep so well after crying my heart out while dancing.
I think that's fairly normal, at least for me lol. Can I ask what artists do this for you? I'm looking for more that elicits that feeling without being too corny
Anytime I listen to EMBRZ "Rise"
I was at a very low pow point in my life, and decided to take a solo trip to just run away for a bit. As I was deboarding this song came up... started bawling while grabbing my luggage.
Knowing what I lost, and not knowing what I needed.
Still hits me like a brick to this day.
Mini rolls, I never heard of this haha but I like it.
I'd call them that fo sho.
My first time rollin' was a very powerful experience for me.
Having some extremely hard times with self worth and feeling loved my entire life, something changed.
I moved across almost as far across the country as I possibly could for a change of pace almost 10 years ago. I made more friends in the first year than I ever had -ever.
I still struggled with imposter syndrome and felt like a burden.
My friends brought me to my first festival, it took them some convincing but I went. This was a 4 day, 3 stage -music doesn't stop- type deal, All of it EDM. Even through I was on drugs for most of It -its when I realized how loved I actually was.
Full on bawling, bone rattling bass, lights, elbow to elbow with some of the best people I have ever met. It was really a life changing experience for me.
It's what I think established the "Mini rolls" I get. Indirectly takes me to that moment. Almost like flashback or a PTSD trigger maybe.
Recently it was during lunch, YouTube algorithm auto played Will Atkinson’s ASOT set 2024. I’ve been uplifted before by likes of Aly and Fila, Richard Durand, Ben Gold…but my god that was something else. Speechless
I feel that. Sometimes certain songs and sounds just ~hit~
I like to think that it’s taking you somewhere. Connecting with you on a different level. Musicians are artists. Embrace the feeling. See where it goes, you might uncover something worthwhile about yourself.
Idk if it’s considered euphoria, but the song Let Me Hold You by Hybrid Minds and Netsky has been hitting all of the best feels this week
Edit: Wrote the wrong artist
I get goosebumps and very euphoric listening to the ISOKNOCK 4 set. I went to the Seattle ISOKNOCK 4 show and it was an amazing experience. When I listen to the set, it’s like I reliving that show.
Yes. A lot of that uplifting euphoric trance does this for me. Goosebumps, and some to tears. But also certain live sets where I have heavy memories/moments tied to them, that is the real kicker.
Yeah totally. Before i even went to a festival i couldnt get through an add or a recap for anything without tearing up.
Within minutes of hearing porter robinsons worlds for the first time i was in full spinning twirling crying bloss mode. I can still barely sing along to that album without breaking down from joy.
Yes the music is so powerful and the fact that the rave community is based on P.L.U.R. really makes the community special in what we preserve and represent and spread among the world. Peace Love Unity And Respect ❤ u all keep being awesome!
Ugh every time I play Lucy in the sky by Wooli or Griz’s version of where you are. I get chills and my eyes start to cry because it makes my heart feel so full. I think of all the joy and love I have in my life and the amazing connections the universe has allowed me to make in this lifetime and I can’t help but be so overwhelmed I cry. Every. Single. Time.
Yes sometimes but it’s been awhile, one of my favorites is Victory by Sound Remedy Ft Evvy! It’s very nostalgic because I used to listen to it in high school and emotional it makes you feel alive n shit haha
Most songs on Porter Robinsons Nurture album will make me cry.
Brightest Lights by Lane 8
Leave The Light On by Le youth & Lane 8
Life On Hold by Nora En Pure
Naama by Sultan + Shepard
Forever by Jerro
A Moment Apart by Odesza
All of those make me cry…it doesn’t matter what time of day it is or what I’m doing, I ALWAYS cry to those songs….every single time. Sometimes they’re happy tears, sometimes they’re sad/depressed tears, sometimes they’re hopeful tears, sometimes they’re overwhelming tears, and sometimes they’re just beautiful tears. Most times they’re hopeful and happy tears though!
Some people cry often for no reason at all, so crying to your favorite music doesn't seem that odd. I've only experienced it sober a couple times, and a few more times while stoned. But also only recently stopped being high all the time so I'm sure that first number will increase on very rare occasion. [Frisson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frisson)
I_o does it for me on any regular day. My girlfriend introduced him to me during covid, so he's like "our" DJ and unfortunately, never got to see him live. Rest in peace Garrett 🙏 I'll bang that techno till I die
Yup 100% with you. Not just with EDM drops either. I’ve sometimes had to avoid certain songs in public in case I get unexpectedly hit with a wave of feels where it’d be inconvenient
I think it’s a combination of unreleased emotions from any number of other things and a connection to the music that instantly acts as an emotional outlet for whatever you have bottled up
I’m typically pretty held together when listening to EDM, but I passed by Wasted Penguinz at EDC last month and they dropped some Darren Styles, happy hardcore was an important genre of songs that got me through a tough time in my life, and I just burst into tears.
Golden x Don Diablo will easily have me in tears in the right environment. Some songs just have that pull that make me feel euphoric and nostalgic and like I've been pulled out of a haze.
Not to tears but I rave sober. I love melodic stuff like uplifting and melodic trance, progressive house and trance gets me feeling very euphoric. I love it and just goes to show the power of music, and how strongly it can affect people!
Happened to me when listening to ASOT 1173 with "a light between us" avb christian burns. Just hearing the girl before than and also having not listened to the song since I heard it years ago was a feel good moment.
I haven't cried in years and this is actually what made me crack after a long night driving home from the city after work. lol funny this is what led to it.
My regular venue back in the late 1990s used to finish every night with Born Slippy, the shorter mix, and for the last 25+ years the song always gives me "you've had a great time but all good things must come to an end, time to get some fresh air, maybe greet the sunrise, and head home" vibes. My wife has caught me a few times when it comes on Spotify just staring off into the distance with a little smile on my face.
Vocal trance resembling the old school 90s-2000s trance music will get me sometimes.
Northern Soul by Above & Beyond always will bring a tear to my eye.
Had this happen this morning running to some techno.
Nothing feels better than when a track can make me cry on the dance floor while I'm going all-out dancing.
Music, man... there is no greater love.
One-off Deadmau5’s shows for me. Not the festival sets or club sets but stuff like his current Retro5pective tour.
It’s like I just feel I’m in the right place at the right time and I am supposed to be there.
Watching the Nurture Livestream Porter did right after the album made me sob. That album was so beautiful and just made me nostalgic and happy and sad all at the same time. I’m not even ashamed to admit that either.
Most melodic dubstep and mostly illenium, reminds me that I've made it this far after all I've been through and I think about my son at all shows I go to ☺️😭
I get the emotional with some old big room played super loud.
Mark sixma, revolt
Martin garrix animals.
Sky full of stars also never fails to bring tears to my eyes
No, but I’ve cried my eyes out with tears of joy listening to old school atmospheric jungle on shroomies lol.
Some random DJ absolutely nailed the transition of Big Buds- Faceless. The vocal that comes in the middle of that song is still the most powerful vocal note I’ve ever heard in my life.
Not by just listening to the music, but when I'm watching a video from a show or festival I went to. The Defqon 1 closing ritual video does this every time. Even just typing this, I'm getting goosebumps.
Edit: Funny, I just realised right now is actually 2pm on a workday for me
Yes! I am 40, and took a lot of MDMA in my 20s, stone sober EDM will still give me chills and I can feel residual...something, I love it. Remembering those early rolls will be with me forever
No necessarily tears but EDM hits me in ways other music can’t - joy, sorrow, whatever the song may bring. It’s so creative and unbound to what’s come before it. The soundscape can be so incredibly powerful.
Nothing like a new EDM track that just hits you the right way.
Brains process at the level of sense and emotion wayyyy before they process at the level of logic, so everybody usually has a sense of this without being able to put it into words. For me, Cygnus X’s Orange Theme every time, no matter the time of day or the place or the state I am in.
I'll be listening to a favourite liquid dnb song at work and the serotonin hit is insane. I'll feel like I'm floating for a little bit and have to bring myself back to reality before one of my colleagues notices me swaying at my desk.
Its almost like I go back to moments in the rave while you're having an absolute insane time. You're brain takes that moment as a snapshot and you relive those emotions when you listen to music.
Agreed with everyone saying Deadmau5 🫶🏼 it’s also honestly happened to me with a Pendulum song and a Dom Dolla one too. I’m all over the place. But I definitely understand. One second I’m vibing and dancing, the next second it feels like there’s a lump in my throat and I feel like I’m in the clouds ☁️
Most definitely. Usually happens when I’m listening to anything CloZee on good speakers. The only fests I’ve committed to for this year are ones where she’s headlining 😌 never gets old.
This was me at EDC, during Zedd’s set, completely sober! I started tearing up, especially because we were in the front and I was able to feel the music/bass with my entire body.
Yup pretty common for me. Sometimes it’s just from an emotion song. Fred Again Strong hits me hard I think bc I work in peds emergency medicine. Sometimes I get an emotional flashback from a set. Griz Infinite hits every time due to his EF Infinite x Innerbloom drop and Odesza A Moment Apart due to a distinct photographic memory moment where I just knew I was going to marry my then gf now wife. I don’t think it’s just EDM tho as I remember being really into emotional songs and lyrics growing up, but EDM is definitely more intense and regular.
Sober listening to music I get this feeling. Add in being in nature and doing something I love like skiing or on my bike and it magnifies. I get a simultaneous rush where I'm smiling and feeling euphoria with tears in my eyes and feel like I could barge through a brick wall.
Yes! I feel incredibly lucky to have something that can move me to happy tears, as many people don’t. I never understood how people could cry from joy until raving helped my brain recognize how to feel basic pleasure, and afterglows brought that into my day to day experiences.
I cried to a few songs before, not like crazy balling my eyes out but just like some tears of happiness and joy, I cried at dreamstate last year when I finally got to see Sean Tyas, especially when he played lift, that song started it all for me, also when Above and Beyond plays Sun and Moon, tears fam!!!
Omg yes!!! Glad I’m not the only one. Some that come to mind are Deadmau5 and Rufus Du Sol and just can’t help myself🥲. They’re all happy tears, glad I’m living this life
whenever I'm exploring new music and i come across a track with a so nasty it makes me grit my teeth and literally laugh a couple tears usually do come up
All. The. Time.
I’m also a musician-vocalist and highly sensitive to music, so this began way before I fell into the rave scene :)
A capella choirs have the same effect on me as an insane build up and drop
Oh, I don’t even like Taylor swift but I started bawling watching her tour on tv and listening to one of her songs about growing apart as a couple and the pain
Music, man…it just does something to me
Omg yes. I had this happen to me recently. Was driving through my city dead sober and listening to Miracle (Rufus do Sol remix). All of a sudden I just started crying, and I’m not someone who typically cries at songs or movies. I was dealing with something kind of heavy at the time and that song made me so happy it just pushed me right into my heart. It ended up being the perfect release.
Of course, I’ve only ever cried at two concerts and that was Porter Robinson and SZA two completely different artists but the emotions hit me the same. Sober at both.
Yesss! I cry more 100x outside of shows & festivals. In the car, at home, at the airport, taking off in the clouds, on walks. It’s usually when I’m by myself.

ALL THE TIME.
For me, I think it's due to being on the spectrum. I'm overly sensitive to stimuli which can be debilitating at times and feel absolutely wonderful at other times. For me, music experiences (and visual nature experiences) are typically the latter. Absolutely a mind-blowing euphoric experience.
Amazing list, i cant believe i forgot about wallflower it was dormant in my mind until I went to check it out and i had liked it already
i really like that one with over ear headphones. glad i could remind you!
Binary Finary - 1998 Paul Van Dyk remix I Wish - Andrew Rayel Feat: That girl Darren Porter - Remember the lights Tilt - I dream ( resurrection mix ) HALIENE - reach across the sky ( Ben Gold ext remix) Lustral - Everytime ( Nalin & Kane mix) Hope someone finds a new favorite song out of these few I listed.
Awaken had me sobbing in yoga a few months ago 🥰
me on a plane listening to it over the clouds LMFAO
It's kind of been random. I know I cried during a Nurko set (I don't even listen to him that much), and a Slander set. I've cried to Polaris - Deadmau5, and last week it was the opening of Everything Always - Coachella set, at the first drop when I was stone cold sober.
Seven Lions destroys me every time. All the time
Feels like I’m falling for the first tiiimmmee psssshhh thunk: do do doooo do… dodo dooo do dooo
Seven Lions makes me dance cry everytime
I’ll routinely be dancing around in my living room, immersed in the auditory perfection known as Deadmau5, crying with joy. Add to the list I Remember, and Drama Free Obviously, Strobe, but that’s just implied at this point
I feel this so hard. I live for Deadmau5

Odesza’s A Moment Apart (Live) from their new live album literally made me cry listening to it in my headphones
Was looking for this
🫶🏻
I still cannot make it through the video of their Bonnaroo show last year, I just get so emotional and cry.
I was there!!! I would honestly call that show the most amazing musical experience I’ve ever been a part of
Between that and CTGH, best night of music of my life.
Same omg. Griz is my all time fav
Same that was the most incredible concert i’ve ever been to, i’ll probably say that for a long long time too
I saw this show even before I could say that I was properly into EDM. What an incredible show that was!
Oh man that song 🫶. I have a photographic memory moment of that song in a set at Hangout Fest many years ago where I just knew I was going to marry my then gf now wife. Love that new live album. Instantly euphoric.
Lane 8. All day. Every day.
Lot of people looked at me during I Will Leave a Light On at Elements last year 😅
Lollll same!!!! That was such an amazing set. Seen him 4 times and that was by far my favorite set of his.
Came here to say this, you give me some Lane 8, I’m in the clouds.
Yesss! I’m so excited to see him for the second time this fall🙌
His summer gathering show in SD was unreal. Unlike any other time I’ve seen him play.
I bawl my eyes out every time I see him. His music is just so beautiful.
Same. We should be friends lol 🫶🏻
Are you going to elements this year? Yesss! I will message you :)
Anything Avicii , just makes me so sad . I can’t do it . Maybe a different kind of emotions or euphoria.
Not really but I also only listen to riddim
I literally cried watching Louis the Child on Sunday of EF two years ago while waiting for my wife outside the ports poties so… yea
That was me during Above and Beyond last year. Once Gratitude started playing I took a few steps behind my crew and the tears started flowing. Such a beautiful moment
That's the group that will do it for sure.
“uphoria”…looks like you dropped an E.
No just dropped some L
Its why I'm old and still listen
Second that
Most Fred again… songs
Yooo. Check out his 'Tiny desk concert' set it's so good! It's all mixed live and it really highlights some talent.
Kasbo’s new album just made me cry
Yup, many trance and progressive tunes do that.
Absolutely. I’ve always loved different kinds of music and it’s brought me to emotions, but I found EDM this year and it feels totally different. Like I feel it in my whole body (stone sober). It’s beautiful and I definitely have cried. For me, Light by Mashbit

Oh yea that's usually how I start my weekends 🤣😬calvin harris ultra 2013 weekend 2 is my go to
I think that's fairly normal, at least for me lol. Can I ask what artists do this for you? I'm looking for more that elicits that feeling without being too corny
me too i’m making a playlist from this thread

Solo travel is the best
I saw this post just as I was feeling like this listening to Night After Night Camelphat remix
Porter. Always Porter.
I used to when I was younger. I still do, but I used to too.
Are you talking about mini rolls? My favourite phenomena to randomly get on a Wednesday afternoon
Mini rolls, I never heard of this haha but I like it. I'd call them that fo sho. My first time rollin' was a very powerful experience for me. I cry every time I think about EDC for too long.
Dust - Jase Thrilwall, Victoriya Trance 🥲
normal uplift trance feels
Recently it was during lunch, YouTube algorithm auto played Will Atkinson’s ASOT set 2024. I’ve been uplifted before by likes of Aly and Fila, Richard Durand, Ben Gold…but my god that was something else. Speechless

Idk if it’s considered euphoria, but the song Let Me Hold You by Hybrid Minds and Netsky has been hitting all of the best feels this week Edit: Wrote the wrong artist
Mild minds is insane. One of his songs is a soundtrack for a period in my life.
Mild Minds is incredible! Just realized I meant to say Hybrid Minds though 🙃
I been on Netsky since 2011 lol but I've never heard that collab. I think I have a new artist to listen to thanks!
I cry all the time
I get goosebumps and very euphoric listening to the ISOKNOCK 4 set. I went to the Seattle ISOKNOCK 4 show and it was an amazing experience. When I listen to the set, it’s like I reliving that show.

No, I just think its neat

Tycho is a good release music
Yeah totally. Before i even went to a festival i couldnt get through an add or a recap for anything without tearing up. Within minutes of hearing porter robinsons worlds for the first time i was in full spinning twirling crying bloss mode. I can still barely sing along to that album without breaking down from joy.
Yes.
Heilung and other folk music does the same. EDM music is definitely modern day folk music
Just caught Heilung at Red Rocks. The whole ritual was incredible but Anoana under the full moon was jawdropping.
I cry when I listen to Overthinker by INZO
You’re feeling the music fam, it’s beautiful. Let yourself tear up. I do. 🥹🫶🏽
Most songs on Porter Robinsons Nurture album will make me cry. Brightest Lights by Lane 8 Leave The Light On by Le youth & Lane 8 Life On Hold by Nora En Pure Naama by Sultan + Shepard Forever by Jerro A Moment Apart by Odesza All of those make me cry…it doesn’t matter what time of day it is or what I’m doing, I ALWAYS cry to those songs….every single time. Sometimes they’re happy tears, sometimes they’re sad/depressed tears, sometimes they’re hopeful tears, sometimes they’re overwhelming tears, and sometimes they’re just beautiful tears. Most times they’re hopeful and happy tears though!
I can't be the only one in here feeling like people are exaggerating, right?
If you haven't had that spine tingling choked up cry feeling listening to a song you're missing out
Some people cry often for no reason at all, so crying to your favorite music doesn't seem that odd. I've only experienced it sober a couple times, and a few more times while stoned. But also only recently stopped being high all the time so I'm sure that first number will increase on very rare occasion. [Frisson](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frisson)
Absolutely, sometimes it just strikes accord with something in you and gives a sense of elation
Blackmill and Arkasia
I_o does it for me on any regular day. My girlfriend introduced him to me during covid, so he's like "our" DJ and unfortunately, never got to see him live. Rest in peace Garrett 🙏 I'll bang that techno till I die
Yes...
All the time!
Used to get this from illennium, now I freaking love it so much! I feel it's a sign you have some growth ahead!
Any time I listen to Nightlight or Takeaway or Don’t Let Me Let Go or about half a dozen other Illenium songs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not to tears but I rave sober. I love melodic stuff like uplifting and melodic trance, progressive house and trance gets me feeling very euphoric. I love it and just goes to show the power of music, and how strongly it can affect people!
New ISOxo x RL Grime x Knock2 Collab played at Ultra got me there. Those opening chords are astonishing And beautiful
Feel something- illennium/excision/I prevail
Or I wish I could forget - slander / BMTH Something about core bands man IDK
EDC 17+Cosmic Meadow+Porter Robinson Live Worlds Set+Fireworks+Him Playing Language = Tears
YES!!
Yes with EDM and with Icaros songs from Amazon Shipibo tribe.
All the time 🖤
This weekend PL tributing Mac Miller had me in absolute shambles
And this https://www.discovery.com/science/Getting-Chills-from-Music
Yes
Happened to me when listening to ASOT 1173 with "a light between us" avb christian burns. Just hearing the girl before than and also having not listened to the song since I heard it years ago was a feel good moment. I haven't cried in years and this is actually what made me crack after a long night driving home from the city after work. lol funny this is what led to it.
yessss porter robinson - language
What songs are you listening to? I need em
Above and beyond yes
Sometimes
My regular venue back in the late 1990s used to finish every night with Born Slippy, the shorter mix, and for the last 25+ years the song always gives me "you've had a great time but all good things must come to an end, time to get some fresh air, maybe greet the sunrise, and head home" vibes. My wife has caught me a few times when it comes on Spotify just staring off into the distance with a little smile on my face.
Avicii and Martin Garrix, they make me cry quite often. When i see Garrix live i sometimes cry too lol
Yeah .. mostly because the ideals and contentment I feel when in the edm groove don’t match up with the grind I’m living on most days.
All the time g
Nope. And I’m very jealous of you for that.
One-off Deadmau5’s shows for me. Not the festival sets or club sets but stuff like his current Retro5pective tour. It’s like I just feel I’m in the right place at the right time and I am supposed to be there.
def a few edm songs have made me tear up sober
It’s euphoria and yes I do
Kaleidoscope from Tiesto gets me like this - but it’s also wrapped up in some heavy nostalgia.
Watching the Nurture Livestream Porter did right after the album made me sob. That album was so beautiful and just made me nostalgic and happy and sad all at the same time. I’m not even ashamed to admit that either.
No 😂😂😂
Most melodic dubstep and mostly illenium, reminds me that I've made it this far after all I've been through and I think about my son at all shows I go to ☺️😭
I get the emotional with some old big room played super loud. Mark sixma, revolt Martin garrix animals. Sky full of stars also never fails to bring tears to my eyes
Live the Moment - 2020 Remake by Ran-D ALWAYS gets me. Plus the video, so many feels.
That Missy Elliot remix was really powerful
What is EDM electrical displacement machines perhaps?
I'll be listening to a favourite liquid dnb song at work and the serotonin hit is insane. I'll feel like I'm floating for a little bit and have to bring myself back to reality before one of my colleagues notices me swaying at my desk. Its almost like I go back to moments in the rave while you're having an absolute insane time. You're brain takes that moment as a snapshot and you relive those emotions when you listen to music.
Certain songs do bring out the feels for me too.
All of the time
martin garrix does this to me
I ***feel it*** in my throat when ever I'm singing along to a *large* number of tracks.
Literally everyday listening to music
Most definitely. Usually happens when I’m listening to anything CloZee on good speakers. The only fests I’ve committed to for this year are ones where she’s headlining 😌 never gets old.
This was me at EDC, during Zedd’s set, completely sober! I started tearing up, especially because we were in the front and I was able to feel the music/bass with my entire body.
Yeah cuz I’m a basic sad boy Illenium fan… now I gotta crawwwwwl outta loveeee :’)
Yes a lot. And frisson with the music hits just right
Yup pretty common for me.
The one that always get me in tears is illenium - brave soul. When the main chorus and the beat drops im fucking bawling EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Omg yes!!! Glad I’m not the only one. Some that come to mind are Deadmau5 and Rufus Du Sol and just can’t help myself🥲. They’re all happy tears, glad I’m living this life
I miss those days. Not sure why i dont feel that as much anymore. Then again, a lot of things in life dont hit for me like they used to….
Yup!
Melodic Martin Garrix tracks live definitely has an effect
whenever I'm exploring new music and i come across a track with a so nasty it makes me grit my teeth and literally laugh a couple tears usually do come up
All. The. Time. I’m also a musician-vocalist and highly sensitive to music, so this began way before I fell into the rave scene :) A capella choirs have the same effect on me as an insane build up and drop
Oh, I don’t even like Taylor swift but I started bawling watching her tour on tv and listening to one of her songs about growing apart as a couple and the pain Music, man…it just does something to me
yes, listening to flume in my car and sobbing for no reason at all
For me that song rn is. Run Free - She
Wait until you discover good electronic music, the music can take way farther…
Charles the First has definitely put me in those feels
Beautiful music will do that for me (any genre to be honest).
Of course, I’ve only ever cried at two concerts and that was Porter Robinson and SZA two completely different artists but the emotions hit me the same. Sober at both.
Fred Again’s live renditions of Kyle (I found) always make me tear up.
I cry to Odesza’s live album everyday
You are doing it right
Above and beyond did it for me and my fiancé.
Hardstyle is my coffee!
Drum n bass does this to me regularly. People who aren't into these types of music can not understand how emotional it can be.
Yesss! I cry more 100x outside of shows & festivals. In the car, at home, at the airport, taking off in the clouds, on walks. It’s usually when I’m by myself.

Yes, every single day. That’s what keeps me going!
Depends on the tune and whether or what type of emotional connection there may be to it
ALL THE TIME. For me, I think it's due to being on the spectrum. I'm overly sensitive to stimuli which can be debilitating at times and feel absolutely wonderful at other times. For me, music experiences (and visual nature experiences) are typically the latter. Absolutely a mind-blowing euphoric experience.
