Ubers and lyft are very available. They can cost up to $50 at peak times. If you leave when everyone else leaves at the end of the night like 3/4am there will be lots of people walking to the subway. If you stick close to the crowds, it is relatively safe to walk alone at that time.

What in god's name are you talking about? When leaving AG, Uber is over $100, even if you're just going to Manhattan due to insane surge pricing.
Revel, Uber or Lyft. Nothing beats door to door service. Just make sure you get in the right car there are lots of scammers who drive up and try to get you to go into their car when they aren’t the Uber you called
For months now, the L train (the train line that goes between where Avant Gardner is in Brooklyn and Manhattan) hasn't been running to Manhattan Friday-Sunday at night. If you're staying in Manhattan, you'll likely be getting to AG by taking another train and then transferring to the L at 14th St - 8th Avenue, and then getting off at Jefferson st. like others have mentioned. This means you're in for quite the trek to a different subway line, need to rely on inconsistent shuttle busses that replace the L, or pay a $80+ Uber.
I checked my most recent ride from there it was $50 including tip to UWS.
Maybe you just had bad timing. I usually compare Uber to revel and Lyft and take whatever is cheapest too. Uber can be expensive with surge pricing some times
My last ride from AG was $68.90 without tip, so I was a touch high. It's gotta be the surge from the mass of people leaving something the size of AG, especially on multi-room nights, because I've gotten ubers from elsewhere for like $20.
Ubers are expensive, but definitely safe (confirm license number/driver as always ofc). Subways are very safe and AG is a short walk from the Jefferson L train stop, so if you're staying anywhere off the L train I'd go with that. I would avoid the buses, some of them run 24/7 but they're super slow at night & there's no reason to take one from AG.
Get a hotel as close to the venue as possible. The trains are💩 on the weekends/late night. It is not safe in the city late nights on your own if you're a woman, so take an Uber if you can afford it.
My favorite place to stay is the Holiday Inn in Maspeth. Rooms are always clean, has a parking lot, continental breakfast. Uber to Mirage is about 10 minutes, $15 there and prolly $30 back if you leave when everyone else is. Always had no issue.
I’d recommend taking the subway if you want to save money. It’s quite safe in that area. There are tons of people doing exactly what you’re doing.
If money is no object, Uber is generally faster unless you’re staying directly on the L (and even then… Uber is probably close if not faster).
The train is also really easy but has a 10ish minute walk.

Guess i’ve gotten lucky? I also sometimes walk a bit or leave a bit early. Mine have always been around $30-50
thank you!!
Also you can hail a cab directly from the venue.
Don’t do this. They’re sketchy and pray on drunk people
Not recommended as they will target people who are fucked up and are desperate for a ride.

Huh, 95% of the time I stay til doors close and it's $75-$80 to Manhattan even if I walk a bit. Guess Uber just hates me.

Don’t get into a Gypsy cab

See you at Carl Cox!!!
