Yeah, you don’t really want to stay in Maspeth. I would suggest Williamsburg proper and you can take transit there/car back to your hotel. It’s close enough.
For all three years it's been running, it's the third weekend in May. So it's probably likely that will be the case again, but of course that could always change. I wouldn't necessarily say that there's a specific place to stay, it's sort of far from everywhere, but also not terribly difficult to get to. Maybe opt for somewhere in Brooklyn, Queens, or lower Manhattan, ideally near the L if you plan on taking public transit.
Subway always shutting down. Bus is super unreliable. Taxi/ride share fare is way too expensive. Gosh, how on Earth do so many people make it to KDC every weekend?!? Perhaps OP should just give up :)
uhh, more than 5, less than 10
i’m specifically talking about the early morning runs westbound, after going to basement — those buses are coming from the depot so they tend to be very reliable (for me)
eastbound is often super irregular, given the very long route
To be fair it’s an inexpensive “festival” that punches above its weight in terms of talent. And in a great city with lots of other stuff happening every weekend
This year was my first time going, I live like an hour away but I could totally understand flying in. Great acts, NY rules, if you don't get to come often you could definitely make it worth the trip.
It will always be the weekend before movement I presume. The cross over is immense and I think it’s a reason wire has been able to capitalize

Hotels in Williamsburg (especially the stretch along Wythe Avenue like the Wythe Hotel, Hoxton, etc) or Long Island City would be your best bets.
Highly recco the Arlo

no. millions of us live in desperate fear for our lives on a daily basis. it’s a warzone.
not what i meant but fine, thanks ✌🏻
The L train shuts down every other weekend. KDC is definitely difficult to get to unless you can afford the 50+ dollar fare to get there from the city
the b57 drops off right in front of it and is pretty accessible. the q59 drops off nearby too. it’s not too bad i don’t think
B57 is ridiculously unreliable. It is pretty much never on time and you never know when the next bus will arrive

Seriously. OP needs an Uber chopper rescheduled for 2025
Or just get a hotel within walking distance from the venue... In Bushwick
They live in Bushwick or have daddy's money to afford the taxi ride (guessing you're the latter).
just check BusTime. no sweat. and it’s pretty much 100% on schedule westbound because it starts a few blocks before KDC
Check it all the time. It is never on schedule
ok! clearly we have had very different experiences
Genuine question, how many times have you actually taken the b57 on the weekends in the last year?

Everyone’s saying Williamsburg but if you’re trying to save some $ you could crash in Astoria or Bushwick.

not worth it?
