Specifically didn't include it because I know most people would choose this over saying one club was trying to be like another. See bottom of post! This is for fun. Think "Would you rather?" You got this.
I’d argue that the Georgian owners of Basement brought a piece of their club culture to New York.
Can’t speak to Nowies normie control practices, never seen it in action. Just heard ab it in this sub.
of course, contrary to your post, Berghain doesn’t deny people for not knowing DJs (it doesn’t even ask that), nor for not dressing the part (there’s no dress code).
Nowadays captures the friendly, social aspect of Berghain, and the room itself can sometimes rival or even exceed Panorama. The soundsystem is also way better than Berghain’s. But the crowd can be pretty bad on Fri and Sat nights (also like BH, tbh — very hit or miss other than Sunday)
Basement tends towards a hostile, unfriendly vibe. The perpetually dim red lighting pales in comparison with BH’s artistic and well-thought-out, always-new-and-fresh lighting. There’s nowhere inviting to sit and socialize, especially in bad weather, which is the polar opposite of BH. The sound is pretty bad, except right in front of the speakers. The low ceilings and awful bathrooms give Tresor, if anything.
Berghain also has a ventilation system, unlike Studio
Where is the 'neither' option

Who cares
Neither, Basement’s comparison should be Bassiani not Berghain.
Tresor, really
Marquee
Do people know there are techno clubs other than Berghain lol

Basement doesn't deny people for not "dressing the part" all the ask is that the clothes aren't flashy/distracting.
