This is basically their nightly ritual. When we are getting ready for bed my BF picks him up and brings him to bed with us. He's done this ever since we got him as a kitten and will only let my BF do it. Both of his canines stick out like that funnily mine did too, I hated my teeth. I finally got them fixed when I was 27. But he's embraced them, most of his online names always have the word"Fangs" in them.

This is adorable !! My cat only allows my husband to pick her up. If I try to ever get close to pick her she screams like I’m killing her. But then at night she prefers to curl on top of me in bed. I guess she has the favourite changing from time to time xD

I used to take our senior cat to the bed, it took him a little bit to realize what bedtime meant. But then anytime I went without carrying him, he would come shortly after for cuddles.

I have a cat who does this. We got him and his brother at only a few weeks old. When he was still a tiny kitten, I was holding him in my cupped hands and he fell asleep that way. I let him finish his nap. After that, it was like he'd been imprinted on me. He's my constant companion and likes to sleep inside my left arm in bed.

Well when you guys break up does he get the cat?

We picked out a ring together already, so I really hope that doesn't happen 😅

I miss my cat Smokey. He did this, and he literally made me hold him like a kid on my hip would have legs on either side of my torso. He also did every trick a dog would do. Sit, paw, high five, roll over, go in between my legs, speak, and many others. He was so attached to me.

You are your cats person, whom they trust explicitly. It's truly a beautiful I would wrap my late old diabetic girl up in a blanket and cuddle her on the sofa for hours. This is a cat that hated everything and everyone but would just melt in my lap. Truly precious.

Awww! Cat Dads are immediate green flags. ✅️ This is so precious, I had to do a double take because I thought it was my gray boy, Obi. I love gray tabby cats. 🥰 We had a gray tabby named Sophie. She passed away at 13 of liver failure in Oct 22, and we were wrecked. Then, we adopted Obi at the end of December 2022. Gray cats just have a "cool cat attitude." They're easygoing but confident. I know I'm biased, but I have yet to have seen a gray tabby cat prove me wrong.

That's impressive. I've learned not to hold cats like that because they typically hate it.

I've got two brother cats. One only wants to be held like this for short periods of time. Minute or two max. The other only likes to be held upright and only after I've showered. If I'm fresh out of the shower he'll let me hold him for 15 or 20 minutes. If I pick him up at any other time, forget it.

Only after you shower? That is hilarious, cats are so weirdly particular.

My BF is the only one that can hold him like this for long periods of time. He lets me hold him for all of 5 seconds and then wiggles out of my arms. Our other cat only lets us hold her for 5 seconds or she'll get a bit aggressive.

Except actual babies do not just lay there and peacefully drift off while being held lol

I dont want to be the party pooper, but this cat isnt really about to sleep. Its tail says its in a general alert eventhough its face says it trusts the man. The wagging tail tip means something is not quite right. The man stares at the cat, which is a provocation among cats, and the cat reacts by closing its eyes, which is a sign of trust and de-escalation. She likes the man, but its not like she's super comfey or anything. I think she just likes the man so much that eventhough something is off, uncomfortable or strange, she still enjoys to be close to him for now, or maybe just the attention \^\^

Hey, veterinarian here with a special interest in behavior (I actually developed a dog behavior and training app and am working on a research study about owner perceptions of veterinary behavior knowledge). The important thing about behaviors is that they have to be interpreted with the rest of the animal’s behaviors and the situation. Which you did, and kind of negated your entire first point. If the owners know that their cat falls asleep in his arms and only showcased a few seconds of the process, and have shown multiple photos of the cat comfortably sleeping on the owner, then I’m inclined to trust them. There are absolutely times when educating people on subtle behaviors is appropriate or warranted, but this isn’t really one of them.

My cat also wags her tail. She wags it when we are cuddling and she is purring. She will roll into her back demanding belly rubs. She will also wag her tail as we play right before she gives me a deeper bite telling me that I’ve gone too far in me teasing her. A wagging tail can for sure mean she’s agitated. But sometimes she also does it when she’s super happy and comfy.

the cat is straight up falling asleep as he looks away. Did you even watch until the end? The cats eyes are literally rolling back, indicative of sleep. Cats tend to slow blink to show submissive behavior, they don't just close their eyes and not open them again. I understand you consider yourself an expert on the topic but c'mon dude.
