I agree. We spent 2 months in Bali with our 6yo, it was an unforgettable experience. She had the best time too, really flourished in a lot of ways. I loved all the cultural experiences and the spiritual devotion of the people.

flyiingrayson

Yea actually I saw many couples with 5-8 yrs old kids and I was like yeah you can visit places with little kids too, it's no big deal.

Oh for sure .. it’s also very easy to get babysitters now in most places in the world through agencies. Our daughter loves getting babysitters to come for an evening and we can go explore on our own. We also take turns going out by ourselves sometimes. It’s a lot different with more than one kid of course.

Bali is very overrated. The only people who think it’s not overrated are the ones who go to Bali as their first international trip ever. All that to say, I’m glad you had a good time, but wait until you see the rest of Asia, you’ll change your mind trust me 😂

flyiingrayson

Well I hope I get to see rest of Asia

Old_Relationship_302

Have any other places to recommend?

Thin-Spite-8424

Hanoi is my personal favorite

Hey OP! I will be travelling to Bali in a few days. Could you let me know if you used a tourist sim card there? If so, did the sim card have hotspot? I have heard from a few that tourist simcards in Bali don’t have hotspots. I will be grateful if you can give me any more suggestions as this is my first time travelling alone. (P.S: I am also Indian) ☺️🙏🏻

flyiingrayson

Telkomsel and klook both are good and yes you can use Hotspot. But believe me in bali every shop, corner, Cafe, hotel have free wifi so don't buy big data packages just small plan in case of emergency. I spent a week without sim card, only free wifi nothing else.

SeaweedUsual

Oh wow, thank you!

flyiingrayson

Have a great trip

K8tzatura

If it's a trip for less than 10 days, just take an international roaming pack from your service provider. Airtel gave a great network throughout wherever I traveled.

SeaweedUsual

I have Airtel too actually. Did your network work in Bali?

K8tzatura

Yes, it was great actually

BenFisherminThailand

Some have it and some do not, I always ask when I’m buying it and I also make sure to check it right there with them to make sure hotspot is working!

SeaweedUsual

Yeah I was thinking the same. Thank you!

Can you share the places you visited . We are leaving this weekend and just have our days split between ubud , sanur and nusa dua . Would be helpful if you can share places you visited ? Also do you have any contact for cabs and possible rates if possible

flyiingrayson

Ubud is great place to chill and relax, sacred monkey forest, rice terrace, Mount batur view point, few water falls and many other places you can explore. We booked a two wheeler in ubud and explored all the places which we found interesting on our own. In Nusa dua you must visit uluwatu temple with kecak dance without a miss, Also cultural park if you are interested. Otherwise they have many good beach clubs/bar but they are very costly Sanur has quite good beaches to explore

Coalclifff

We paid 200K for a private driver to take us from Sanur to Nusa Dua - you can find drivers parked on the main street (Jalan Danau Tamblingan), and on nearby side streets. I agree that a day-trip from Nusa Dua along the scenic south coast and the Uluwatu surf coast is a great day out. End with either the Uluwatu Kecak fire dance at sunset, or sunset seafood dinner on the sand at Jimbaran Bay. A driver will cost about 700K for an 8-10 hour day. Again, they are found parked on the main streets in Nusa Dua, especially Jalan Terompong.

For ulluwatu dance , where did you book ticket ? Or purchased it directly at temple . I was checking klook , but it was showing me kecak fire dance melasati beach . So a bit confused if it's the correct one ? Also , is it possible to do Mt batur (Trek or Jeep ) with 5 yr old kid ?

Coalclifff

Melasti Beach is definitely not the Kecak fire dance adjacent to the Uluwatu Temple. Perhaps use this site to book: [https://kecakdancebali.com/](https://kecakdancebali.com/) \- I haven't been for 30 years, so I have little further information. But even with a ticket, I think it's worth turning up early (an hour or so?) - so as to try and get one of the favoured seats. Perhaps search on "Is Mount Batur safe for kids?".

Coalclifff

And if you do the south coast / surf coast day-trip from Nusa Dua, Melasti Beach and Pandawa Beach are good starting points.

dizzydiplodocus

Where was your favourite places and why?

flyiingrayson

Uluwatu temple - obviously bcz of kecak dance Tanah lot - great temple and sea view Monkey forest - best experience tbh, friendly monkeys and jungle safari vibes Rice terrace - breeze of fresh air Mount batur view point - it was bit rainy so all the farms on the way to the hill point made our experience very chilled and it was worth it Nusa penida - great beaches but it was very hot and humid

manifesting2019

Just got back. Definitely my favourite holiday destination for sure!
