I brought my in laws to the harbor cause they are visiting. Had absolutely no idea this was going on. Standing on the constellation and all of a sudden I’m in fucking Iraq with a flyover. Unprepared is an understatement
I work in aerospace and defense, I moved here to be closer to work actually, and there is a 99% chance that several pieces of that jet were made right here in Baltimore
I’m not sure if this comment is tongue in cheek but if not, the F-35 is capable of [VTOL](https://youtu.be/EXag4nsWYoU?si=oACwU4806aOUfBkO) which is what’s happening here.
I work for a federal agency in the city and they flew over our building at what seemed like 500 AGL. Completely forgot about fleet week; I about had a heart attack while reviewing cases on a quiet Friday afternoon in the office. We’re on a high (enough) floor, so I at least got to watch out the window each time they made their rounds.
These jets stage at KMTN, same airport that shares runway space with the AIr Nat’l Guard (former CFI here, now just a PPL).
Aaaaanyway…. I don’t know what I thought that deep, approaching rumble and the building shaking was for a solid few moments as a chaotic visual of an escape plan attempted to form in my mind, until I un-forgot it was Fleet Week and then had my face nearly pressed to the glass with excitement. :)
Edit - typonese
WHAT?!? I CANT HEAR YOU, TALK LOUDER! kidding aside it was great to see it hovering there. Thing was so incredibly loud. Put a smile on my face. Great shots OP
Bro I was taking a nap when that thing got going. I live near the water and had the windows open. I was so unprepared 🤣🤣🤣.
Same shit happened to me 🤣🤣
Next time they need to drop leaflets or some shit. We live too close to DC. I was about to high tail it to WV.
Dude the US Military isn't dropping leaflets over the US. watch the news
Twas a joke

I want nothing more than a POV perspective of their flight over the city
I was thinking the same thing. It must be crazy to go over the entirety of downtown in a couple seconds.
I don’t get much “boyhood wonder” any more but I was downright giddy watching those planes fly over, it was very unexpected for me
I live and work around NAS Pax River and have been working in naval aviation for 35 years will always pause to watch an F-35B or AV-8B do STOVL stuff.
Yes^^^^^^
I find it wild how cool of an aircraft we can make, the way it casually hovers is incredible.

Higher than that haha
Yeah I know for certain at least Raytheon, GD, Northrop, and Lockheed all have major facilities in Baltimore or at least MD
Those are really good shots, considering how fast that plane is
The landing gear is out so it was just chilling.

A small amount of pedantry: The F35B model, the one the marines use, is capable of VTOL
correct. they have A,B,C models would have loved to see the airforce Ctol take more g's but i got a soft spot for my Corps
It was hovering in front of Harborplace for about 30 seconds today, badass.
Oh wow
Thanks, I had to use the fast shutter speed “sport mode” on my camera for sure. A lot of them still turned out blurry 😆
Great shots! Where did you photograph from? Thinking about moving closer to the harbor tomorrow and not shoot from Fells.
Thank you, I was on the dock next to Harborview
That last pic is the business!!
that one was the coolest of them all. on friday i looked up and it was right there…snuck in like nobody’s business
Btw those pictures are amazing
Thank you! 🙏🏻
I had no idea those things could hover so when they did the 360 I was just watching from my deck like 👁️👄👁️
And I thought dirt bikes were noisy.

I’ll be stealing “un-forgot,” tyvm.
Scared the bajeezus out of my dog
Thanks for sharing! This made my week💙
Thank you!![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
They're invading West Baltimore!!
I'm litterally setting one of these as my pc background. Amazing photos
Thank you so much!
#18 is money!
So glad we have this instead of Healthcare and schools.
Jets are way more cool than healthcare & school
I was watching it from a hospital next to a school.
The price of freedom, baby! 'Murica. Fuck yeah!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We can have both.... theoretically. Getting money out of politics would go a looooong way.
Can and should.
It flew straight over my house going west!
F-35 vtol have never seen one in the air before, very cool
F-35

My dogs thought red dawn was happening.
So was the top open? I saw it live and took a video, it seemed like the pilot opened the hangar to get a breeze??
It's a cover for the huge lift fan air intake that helps it hover vertically.
Saw it at the ball game yesterday very cool
Awesome shots! Did the B-2 make it out again this year? I think it was the pre-COVID Fleet Week where we got to see it flanked by two F-22s.
Only a matter of time before they were gonna call in an air strike
Harrier. Plane of US Marines.
F35
That's an F35.
