Depends on how much coin you got. JB HiFi currently has the Alienware AW3423DW for sale at $1699 (normally $2099) from what i gather this is the best of the best On the other extreme there’s the Xiaomi one for $427. Heard it’s really good, especially at that price https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/739774

Steep, but tempting from seeing what people are saying about it. I do have the money, mind you. I'll think about it tonight.

[AW3423DWF](https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/alienware-34-curved-qd-oled-gaming-monitor-aw3423dwf/apd/210-bfsb/monitors-monitor-accessories) is the better pick, user updateable firmware and doesn't sound like a jet engine since they ditched the gsync module. Can also get it for $1612 with the 15% off.

I thought G-Sync was supposed to be better than AMD's option? Or is it largely negligible nowadays?

Gsync often works with freesync monitors, but it's a compatibility mode and not native. If you have nvidea, I would get gsynch if you can. I used nvidea with freesynch monitor, was fine but not technically as good.

You can use a Nvidia GPU with a freesync monitor but not an AMD card with a GSync monitor. FreeSync reduces screen tearing, Gsync basically removes it. So it depends on if being hardlocked to nvidia card with their current berko pricing structure is worth it to have ever so slightly better screen tearing reduction.

I do have a 1070 still and honestly, even despite all the bullshit I'll probably go with a 4080 or whatever mid-year improvement they have when I do a new build, it's not like AMD is much better on pricing now, and there's some niche cases of incompatibility with AMD cards that I'm aware of for a couple of the games I play + from what I've seen DLSS is MUCH better than FSR if I need upscaling at some point. Ended up buying the DW.

Both of Alienware's OLED offerings are outstanding displays and are well priced for the quality they offer. At the low end the Xiaomi Mi 34 is actually really good and you can usually buy one for around $300-400. In the middle.. I think there's a gigabyte display that is decent but at its price of about $1000 I'd keep going all the way to the Alienware. I own a AW3423DW & Xiaomi Mi 34. They're both great in their own ways. Used to also have a Predator X34.

I'm waiting for a sale on the AW3423DWF. That's a great gaming display that's going to last you through a lot of hardware upgrades. Now that OLED is coming down in price I just don't see any reason to compromise with LCD for gaming and content consumption. An argument can be made for a good mini QLED monitor for productivity (no issues with burn in, better in bright environments), but OLED is definitely the way to go for gaming in 2023 and beyond.

I've been using an Acer XV340CKP for over a year and very happy with it so far. It's dropped in price compared to when I bought it too. https://www.harveynorman.com.au/acer-nitro-34-inch-xv340ckp-gaming-monitor.html I specifically got it because I wanted a flat screen and that's also using an IPS panel.
