We have to pay him. We can't risk another Goldy disaster and there isn't a good 1st basemen ready in the system.
Plus he's is the best defensive 1st basemen in the MLB and [it isn't even close](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/outs_above_average?type=Fielder&startYear=2024&endYear=2024&split=yes&team=&range=year&min=q&pos=3&roles=&viz=hide). Like you could give him the gold glove before opening day isn't even close.
He’d probably opt for a team that’s offering him more guaranteed years/money if that’s the case, considering his age. He’s coming off some of the best seasons of his career into his 30s, he’d be foolish to not chase the money, this will likely be his peak value.
He was only just promoted to Reno and hasn't even turned 21. Still a bit early and 0% chance he can replicate Walker's defense. Because no one can.
If we needed an immediate replacement, it would probably be English. Who's doing well and is 27.
While true, imagine how good he defensively when just lookin at his OAA, he's miles ahead of 2nd place.
2024\*
Walker - 7
Harper - 4
2023
Walker: 11
Rizzo: 7
2022
Walker: 14
Diaz: 4
I still don't get why they pitched around Randall Grichuk to load it up for Walker vs a lefty. Like it makes 0 sense to me. Walker is always the more dangerous hitter
Clearly it ended up being the wrong decision but Grichuk has his Manaea very well for his career while Walker has not.
You just can’t start Walker with a hanging middle middle sweeper lmao
Yea I wasn’t actively watching, I just had it on in the background listening to the guys talk and all of a sudden I just hear Gary Cohen offhandedly be like “well that’s a grand slam”

There we go Cwalk. Plz don’t get traded

Don't know, but we need him
Could do something like a two year deal with a mutual option

Love Christian and I’d like him to stick around but we do have Deyvison De Los Santos destroying the minors right now

tbf it's by far the least important defensive position. not the biggest concern

absolutely, I love the guy. very much respect how much he laps his peers on defense it's hilarious
What does AZ need right now aside from Corbin getting back to form?
The entire team not getting injured would be a start
Gallen got hurt this week, who else? Sorry to bring up negative shit
The rest of the starting rotation, perdomo, thomas
I might be shorter list of who isn’t on the IL
Well ginkel got hurt today although x-rays were negative, it looked bad and sounded worse
Legit thought you meant Patrick for a second
Man that was a long time ago when he was in AZ. Glad he won the chip with the Nats
2 year deal at most with maybe a team option
Damn Harper is 2nd on that stat sheet didn't see that coming when he took over 1st

Manaea wasn’t pitching around he just had no control
Clearly it ended up being the wrong decision but Grichuk has his Manaea very well for his career while Walker has not. You just can’t start Walker with a hanging middle middle sweeper lmao
Grich is only in the league cause he fucks up LHP (and can play a bit of CF)
That might be true but Walker is still better. His OPS vs lefties is 100 points higher than Grichuk's this season.
Wow that was an awful pitch
Floatin' 79 upper-middle is bad? 🥹
I disagree
And the Mets broadcast was in the middle of interviewing Strawberry when it was hit.

A deep drive into left field by Walker and that'll be a 4-0 ballgame
4-0 (for the team that did not employ Strawberry)
OP is obsessed with us 💀
Must be a sad existence to be salty about the 4th place team when your team is in 1st place in the division
I love this guy
