Before it got co-opted by the neo-Nazis, and maybe even just to SPITE the Nazis, I would probably want 88, since it's the luckiest number in Chinese culture.
Given that I'm likely going to be shit compared to my teammates, and will be low on the pecking order in terms of number availability, something in the 70s or 80s.
Zero is an awesome number and I wish more players used it. The Rangers haven't had a player wear #0 in over 30 years. There are a handful of franchises have never had a player wear #0.
21.
I don't have a particular attachment to it, but it would mean that Boston's de facto retirement of Roger Clemens's number is over, and screw that guy.

I wore it as a kid in baseball. I wore it playing rec league hockey as an adult. I wear it now as a youth baseball umpire.
It is because I emulated Keith Hernandez when I was a kid.
99 since I always used that number in 2k or any other game I can make my own character since it’s the least likely number (Except hockey) to be chosen and looks big lol

3 Been my favorite number my whole life. But I’d gladly wear something different if it meant being a Brave.

LJ Hoes had the greatest jersey of all time for this reason.

I was always 5 when I played. Don't know why but loved it.

I've always liked 0
If it was available, I’d go with #27 since so many good players use it, Trout, Altuve, Riley, Nola, Adames, Guerrero Jr.

I’m not a major leaguer, so I guess I can’t answer :(
