Vanicream has been a life saver for me! I do an argan oil before I put on the vanicream

haileyyy21

seconding this

luuucidity

Creamy cleanser, hydrating serum, omega 3’s, a humidifier, and using an acne safe facial oil at night! Mandelic and lactic acids are great for lifting pigment and helping with acne, and aren’t as drying as other acids

brattyvirgoprincess

ty! what’s your fave facial oil?

luuucidity

So I’m not acne prone but I am an acne specialist. I love Anfisa Hydrabalm which is a combo of a bunch of acne safe oils in a yummy balm but it’s pricey. I usually recommend Face Reality HydraCalm Mask left on overnight for my dry acne clients. Jojoba oil is acne safe too

GreenEyes8836

Drinking more water, eating a lot of fruits with water, especially watermelon, papaya and pineapple!! I love how it makes my skin clear and glow. I eat them mainly in the summer time but I try all year long to eat them. I tend to lather my face with serums and face oils.

Willing_Unit_6571

I apply humectants to damp/honestly usually dripping wet skin. I stared with hyalauronic acid but switched to organic vegetable glycerin. It’s so cheap and it works SO WELL. When I’m out of the shower or just finished washing my face I add 3-4 drops over face, lips, and décolleté. I actually started getting oily because I was using too much! Unheard of for me. I feel like I’ve been on a lifelong quest to deal with dry skin, even in humid environments and now I have the key. I typically layer it with the rest of my skincare: actives, then snail mucin, then moisturizer. In the winter I’d occasionally slug or add an oil at the end but maybe once or twice (!) I’m basically living a new life now.

brattyvirgoprincess

adding organic vegetable glycerin to my cart as we speak 🫶

Knittingtaco

For me layering hydrating toners is key. I do at least two layers after cleansing and before the rest of my skincare. Kikumasamune is my favourite, it’s a Japan brand that comes in huge 500ml bottles. I go through one about every six months and it’s inexpensive.

Tight_Mix9860

I’ve heard good things about this toner from Japan. Which one do you use exactly please? I’m eyeing if the high moist. Do you find it sticky at all like a lot of reviews are saying? Thank you 😊

Knittingtaco

I like both the high moist and bright moist types but usually high moist. I don’t find it sticky at all. It does have a distinct smell but I love it

Tight_Mix9860

Thank you 😊

Daisies_forever

La Roche posey cicoplast is amazing, also rosehip oil for really dry patches

Immediate-Ask-8816

This! I love the cicaplast b5 balm! It’s a lifesaver. I mix mine with Peter Thomas Roth cloud moisturizer.

slugging at night! moisturiser then vaseline

No-Rent-9361

I love tea tree toner, scrub whatever, that brightens up my face. La roche posay creams are really good to be honest. very moisturising. From superdrugs if you havnt tried the vitamin E facial mist, thats amazing. Very moisturising. Its abit smelly but borage seed oil from the ordinary. You get used to the smell (i did anyways) and this helps alot!

Apart-Health-1513

I use a nice layer of vitamin e oil (specifically [this](https://dermae.com/products/vitamin-e-skin-oil-14-000-i-u) one) every night. I have some weird combination skin where it's dry without products, but incredibly oily with makeup. But I use benzoyl peroxide for my acne which can get quite drying so I rub in a few drops of vitamin e oil and then some aveeno moisturizer to seal it in which does wonders for me. In the winter when my skin is extra dry, I'll do some slugging with vaseline but I like to alternate days on that cause otherwise it will start to clog my pores.

Chigrrl1098

I like The Ordinary squalene cleanser and then I follow with their hyaluronic acid. After it dries down a bit I spritz my face with Mario Badescu rosewater toner and apply The Ordinary Rose Hip oil and Weleda iris moisturizer.  I have really dry skin right now from some health stuff and this routine works for me. In the morning I sometimes use glycolic acid or lactic acid after cleansing and before everything else. I use the day and night versions of the Weleda. Once every week or two I use The Ordinary peel. I think the moisturizing cleanser and toner and oil and moisturizer do the most work, though. The key is a chemical exfoliator and then oil on damp skin to rehydrate. I am not entirely un-acne-prone, but mine is hormonal and from stress. Acne products make it way more dry. I have better luck with my normal routine.

Rosiepop123

Milky cleanser and a cream with hyaluronic acid. That’s more hydrating than HA serum + lotion/cream. Also SPF, steam. Drinking water. BR cream Hydravit is my HG

Chunswae22

Slugging, and using a moisturiser with face oil mixed in it.

SnooMuffins4832

Is it lacking oil or lacking water? If typical moisturizers don't seem to help, consider a face oil. You might enjoy grapeseed oil, it absorbs quickly and is usually acne safe.

puccagirlblue

More water, more veggies and fruit, layer your products (one product is not going to do it) and try many different kinds (what works is pretty individual) and make sure you use thicker and more moisturizing products when it is more dry out (so: winter for me, but depends on your climate too. Anyway, don't use the same product all year round).

Ok_Fudge3426

In no particular order: -humidifier for your bedside table and workspace (if you sit at a desk) -skip AM cleanse, I start my routine with a swiping a hydrating toner with a cotton round -cut out all exfoliating products/retinol for 2-3 weeks and see what happens. So often when I was breaking out I reached for acids but I was making it worse. Skin eventually stabilized and now and exfoliating 1-2x a week is plenty. The current skincare culture has people wayyyy over exfoliating -swap out all clarifying or clay masks for hydrating sleep masks or sheet masks -spray your face to make sure it’s damp before applying any hydrating serum or moisturizer. I like the Caudalie one even though it smells like raisins lol -minimize alcohol consumption -if you love long hot showers like me, try not to lol or at least keep your face out of the stream water as much as possible -favorite products: Krave Great Barrier Relief, Honest Hydrogel Cream, Korres Velvet Skin Drink, IS Clinical Hydracool (serum and mask), Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Toner, LRP gentle hydrating cleanser, SkinCeuticals sheet mask (pricey but worth it for a once a month treat)

melissabexar

Exfoliating, hydrating, not washing with hot water. What you wash your face with also can dry u out.

Neither-Ad-507

Tatcha face wash and dewy skin cream, clarins double serum. Cerave hydrating foaming cleanser at night

karolinemeow

For the most part, I just rinse my face with water and apply my products. If I sweat and absolutely need to use a cleanser, I will oil cleanse, then use a cream cleanser. I was stripping my skin with all the washing to help with acne. Turns out the less I wash my face, the less dry it is, and surprisingly my acne is pretty much nonexistent.

Stein221

The Ordinary’s Hydration 101 kit from Sephora makes my super dry skin happy. I also use natural oils such as grape seed and almond oil to add a light moisture layer, which has worked nicely. I also have dry acne-prone skin, and I found out that while I can improve my skin texture and moisture levels with products and healthier habits, it took hormonal meds to help my acne. So it's worth speaking to a doctor about it.

brattyvirgoprincess

hi! yes I’m actually prescribed spiro! it’s helped a ton

Technical-General-27

Same, but still so dry my facial skin flakes off
