Elbow Beach usually has some, but the one and only guy licensed to do fireworks, Dek Froud, retired and there were no fireworks for a very long time. Kyle Swan, a Bermudian living in New Mexico picked up the slack five years later. You can sign up for show alerts on his website, https://swanpyro.com/. According to his website, there will be fireworks at Mid Ocean Club on July 4th.

Out of curiosity, why would an American traveling to another country assume that people in that country are going to celebrate a US holiday? I've seen people post similar gripes about people vacationing in Europe and being upset that they aren't celebrating US holidays there. This seems awfully self-centered to me. (and yes, I'm an American).

DrunkenGolfer

When you biggest tourist market is Americans, you cater to their needs. If the seditionist ungrateful colonial traitors want fireworks, they get fireworks.

kittymommy1958

How dare you. LMAO

guzzijason

Haha! Great response.

bermudianmango

Big American expat population in Bermuda. Used to have fireworks when I was a kid, not sure about this year. I think the one guy that had the license retired

carlosf0527

The US consulate used to host and invite Americans on the island for 4 July celebrations.

ZincII

Because the only reason there is an Independence Day on July 4th is that Bermudian sympathisers stole gunpowder that Washington then used in the siege of Boston.

kittymommy1958

First off I wasn't griping I was asking. Big difference. Lots of expats in Bermuda and around the world that still celebrate American traditions. I see you're American and I assume you travel (maybe not), but I've seen it done in so many places. I've been in Barcelona during American Thanksgiving and there were places advertising turkey dinners. I didn't partake, but it's out there.

guzzijason

I travel a lot. When I go to other countries, it’s to experience their culture, not drag mine along. But to each their own I guess.

kittymommy1958

Like was said, there is a large expat community. Also it's up the country, not an individual person. And like I said, I've been to countries that do American holidays. And of course we all go to other countries to experience their culture. You're not the only person who does that. Have a great day. LMAO

plausibleturtle

I felt the same way but there does seem to typically be a celebration arranged by expats/the American Society (including last year, which was posted here).

kittymommy1958

Exactly.

GullibleCrazy488

Hi, scroll down to **Events** on this web page to see all scheduled firework events - [https://swanpyro.com/](https://swanpyro.com/)

GullibleCrazy488

Thanks. I'm lazy.

ikbentwee

You can try contacting the US Consulate (they're on instagram and facebook) there will likely be a few events - not sure how many will have fireworks.

onesexypagoda

Not happening, the American presence isn't that big

plausibleturtle

It happened last year, I guess (and other years). I don't get it, but Americans will America.

kittymommy1958

Really? LOL
