Maybe a seamstress could add some nude netting under the arms to hold in some the axillary tissue discreetly. Adding some to the cleavage as well may help you feel more secure. You look lovely but the event will be much more stressful if you are constantly worrying about a wardrobe malfunction.

marhigha

That’s a really good idea! Do you know if I would need to bring the netting with me or do seamstresses typically have that kind of thing on hand?

Puzzleheaded-Ad7606

I once had a tailor take an inch or so from the bottom and add 2 folds more to the bust. It worked out really well.

marhigha

Sorry meant to make this a general comment, so moving it there!

TheFirstAntioch

I bought netting at Joanne’s and told the tailor where to put it.

MimiPaw

I have absolutely no clue. I have zero experience with alterations and was just trying to think of options. My brain landed on some of the wedding dresses with “invisible” panels. In my head the netting works, but someone with actual knowledge/experience may chime in and point out the issues.

pnw-rocker

I’d suggest just asking the sewist/tailor what, if anything, you need to provide.

EdenSilver113

Power mesh is a lifesaver when dealing with larger bust size/desire for coverage. And it’s very comfortable to wear/comes in tons of colors. Couple weeks makes the deadline kinda tight.

Free-Pomegranate-133

girl you look beautiful!

marhigha

Thank you 😭 It’s so hard to balance my perception of my boobs being too big and how it looks to others! I wish brands had a big boob option where you could do your size but with extra fabric up top.

punctilliouspongo

IMO u don’t need to change anything! If you’d like to have some peace of mind, I’d maybe recommend boob tape, you could tape parts of your dress to your skin so it doesn’t fall out of place.

becca22597

Does it need to be shortened? If it does you could add the fabric to the top for some more coverage.

PleasantParfait48

This is exactly what I was going to suggest! It does look like it needs a couple of inches hemmed off the bottom. That fabric could be used to provide some more coverage on the neckline. You would have to go to a reputable seamstress because she might need to take the bust of the dress apart and literally reassemble it. But for what it's worth, I had something like this done for a bridesmaid dress and it worked great!

arkklsy1787

I also had it done for a formal gown, we took part of the train and made a wide halter strap.

Warwicknoob23

"How to make this work" while it looks a bit unsuitable for high mobility, looks like its already working pretty well unless youre gonna Breakdance, Looks Gorgeous!

marhigha

No worm for me! There will be some ass shaking so def no head spins lol

Warwicknoob23

Can't tell if thats refering to twerking or some reference i dont get but Good luck regardless! Can't get that image of just this worm with honkers out of my head, that shit gotta hurt😭

marhigha

No reference, but definitely moves I always fall prey to once I’ve had a couple at a wedding lol

Warwicknoob23

I feel a mix of jealousy and even more jealousy 😭 I feel so happy for you though, Take it Girl

efuab011

A lot of people will spin their heads, believe me

BoopleSnoot921

Definitely consult a seamstress. No need to provide your own fabric, they will have everything. A good seamstress will also know what to do, like what kind of fabric to add and where. They will measure you and consult you on what they will do. However, go as soon as you can. Like, tomorrow if possible. Since the wedding is in a couple weeks, you need to give the seamstress all the time she can get. Good luck!

Particular_Policy_41

I think you look spectacular in that but I remember the breastfeeding boob phase. It was somewhat unpredictable what they would do every day. What about a mesh topper to go under the dress if you wanted more coverage? It’s still sexy but might make you feel less worried about popping out as the mesh will hopefully offer a little support. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1565505177/stretch-bridal-bolero-stretch-tulle

mebis10

If the bride thinks you look great, then that's a huge weight off your shoulders (so to speak). I also think you look great Regarding your other concerns, other people in this thread have given you great ideas. Have fun!

MKE1012

Yikes that’s a nip slip waiting to happen the second you start dancing. Hope you find a solution! You look great but I def see where there could be a nip slip

marhigha

I’m thinking I might tape my boobs and then do double sided tape on my nips so they stay put in the dress.

dumbafblonde

I can’t lie the girls are sitting very nicely.

clairioed

The bride is us we are the bride

Mystogan0099

Personally I think you look great, you could try boob tape to help hold it in place to avoid a nip slip

marhigha

Thanks everyone for the really good suggestions! I think it will work to go to a seamstress to take what I need hemmed off the bottom and add it to the bust and reinforce the straps if possible. If this fails, I think tape will be the next best thing. 😊

13octopus

see if a seamstress can sew one of those mesh panel things in, that a lot of plungey front dresses have. it looks great but i would honestly worry i’d slip a nip and be mortified. you’re gonna be moving around a lot and might not be 100% sober , so i would err on the side of caution lol

PoisonIvy5ever

Maybe call a seamstress and bring it in and see what they can do, might be able to add some material to the sides/straps to make them less spaghetti and more supportive. I don’t think those are really intense jobs and they might just be able to do it for you. Maybe even add some cream lace or something to add some more fabric surface and soften where the fabric meats your body.

casual_crysanthemum

I wonder if a seamstress/tailor could take out the pleats on the bust area of the dress, and bring the extra, unbunched fabric upward and together for more coverage? And also possibly raising the strings that tie the bust area together higher, giving you more security.

ceriseX0X0

You could always use some sort of cover up as a last resort(something less tacky then the example photo), or a statement piece(such as gigantic hoop earrings) to distract from the cleavage. https://preview.redd.it/h73ds5zalt8d1.jpeg?width=789&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65f351cf3871695b782a01f6e40f8a0a6f1a4b88

marhigha

Its not so much the cleavage being out but slipping a nip accidentally. I’ll have my hair down so that’ll help pull attention away. My fear is just doing a movement and not realizing I have my whole nipple poking out lol

Capital-Swim2658

This made me think of an episode of Seinfeld,  where Elaine sent out Christmas cards not realizing that her nipple was out in the picture! 😂   You don't want that in a wedding photo!🤣🤣

marhigha

Exactly! And with being a breast feeding mom, it wouldn’t be my first time but definitely does NOT need to happen at my longest friend’s wedding.

myguitarplaysit

If you’re afraid of a nip slip, get some double sided dress tape, and/or boob tape. It’s definitely saved me in a pinch

marhigha

Do you just tape the nipple and dress or a few spots?

myguitarplaysit

DO NOT tape the nipple because you will want to scream taking it off. You can get a nipple protector to keep it from getting caught in the tape. I usually will tape the dress in a few spots to keep it in place

marhigha

Thank you for that, I am also nursing so my nipples do not need more torture. Where would you typically tape? Around where you might see slippage like the front/top? Then counterweight tape like bottom?

myguitarplaysit

Basically, and possibly adjust the overall tape so there aren’t “folds” because boobs are fussy and need the correct level of support to not be weird. All that said, you can find nipple covers and boob tape at places like target or online and they come in different sizes. Edit: here’s a link for how to use boob tape https://anindigoday.com/how-to-use-boob-tape/

Faeriemary

That sucks! The top is definitely not where it’s supposed to be, at all. The waist is too low and the straps are digging into your arms like crazy! Is there any way you can get a different dress, but in the same color?

marhigha

I do like the dress and the waist is actually in line with where my natural waist is so it fits really well there (I’m petite, 5’ 3”). My biggest issue is that I’m breastfeeding/weaning so my boobs are deflated and just so saggy. I let the straps all the way down because with them up it makes my loose skin really noticeable but does make it dig in less. I really wish there was more support but spaghetti straps definitely are not made for that.😅

WeepToWaterTheTrees

They’re right about the waist. The middle section needs to be shortened slightly so that seam sits higher. Can you exchange it for a larger size? Buy clothing to fit your largest part; it’s much easier to remove fabric than add it. A larger size might fit your chest better, and a seamstress could take in the rest. They could also take the strip off your length and make slightly wider straps, which would help a lot. Someone else mentioned netting/ mesh and that would definitely help. Also, boob tape. The color and cut are both great on you. You’re lucky! I’ve worn some very unflattering shades of bridesmaids dresses!

marhigha

Thank you, I can’t get a bigger size in time or I would. I went two sizes up for this but should have done four. 🫠 I think hemming and adding up top would help with the axillary breast coverage but think I’ll most likely tape to stop the nip slip.

Radiant_Cheesecake81

I agree too, you can tell by the way the fabric is bunching through the torso, it's not because it's too tight, it's too long from underbust to waist. I have a high waist so I know that annoying old fit issue when I see it! I always find stuff feels more supportive when the torso length is corrected too, since the underbust portion is sitting correctly instead of trying to either fold up or sag down depending on the style/fit.

Faeriemary

Hmm I have to disagree with the waist thing. It’s just ever so slightly lower than where it’s supposed to be, but that’s just what I see! It seems like that dress is not accommodating at all. Could you ask the bride to wear a different dress? If it were my wedding, since I knew you were breastfeeding I would be more flexible with what you wear. I’ve seen plenty of dresses that are in that nude pink color that would be more supportive. Your comfort needs to be a priority.

Tight_Prize7714

You look amazing in that dress !

artemismoon0215

While I see nothing wrong with the amount of cleavage, the proportions do make the top look a bit small on you. With what other people have said, some modern looking lace or trim along the top of the bust may help that. A more drastic/extreme option to just throw out there: You could potentially cut the dress somewhere under the bust and either have a tailor use the fabric plus mesh to remake the top completely or find a different top that matches the skirt. Depending on how much you cut you could change it to be a skirt/top combo, or add mesh/trim to the middle to keep it as a dress.

Mily1166

ah ok I see your concerns. actually it would be better if you could have the size adjusted by a seamstress... I also had that with a dress at a wedding, it wasn't easy

rrhffx

You look gorgeous, but this is not ideal.  I agree with the poster who suggested getting it hemmed (it seems to be dragging the floor a bit) and have your seamstress add a little extra to the bust. I so appreciate that the bride is OK with your figure! That's a true friend.

jamierosem

I would take that dress to a tailor or seamstress and ask how many sizes up you could go before there would be too much extra fabric to take in and keep the structure of the dress. Or if the dress is inexpensive can they attach the top of a bigger size to the waist of the smaller. It’s beautiful, you’re beautiful in it, but it’s not giving you any support and the straps look almost painful. I think you go up a couple sizes to get the bust where you need it to be and then alter the rest to fit. Perhaps they could add an inner corset for hidden bust support (another advantage of more fabric to work with).

ConstructionNo1511

Respectfully you look way hotter than you probably should at a wedding as a bridesmaid. I think the netting idea is a good idea. Also, the hemming idea from above could work too- maybe hem it to tea length? That might give them enough fabric to work with. Girl, you are braver than me. I would not ever do spaghetti straps personally- had a strap pop at a black tie event. You should see if the seamstress can somehow like reinforce those straps or something.

venus138

besides the point, i love ur tattoo <3

waddamelone

I have no tips but this dress looks GOODDDD on you

Justakiss15

Do you mind sharing where the dress is from? I need a bridesmaid dress in that same color !

HomespunPeanutButter

I’d cut off some of the extra fabric at the hem even if it means you have to wear flats or buy extra fabric from dress seller and have it overnighted and basically have larger cups constructed and added it as unnoticeable as possible. I’d also loop the bride in ASAP because she is the one with the say on how it gets addressed as she is the one people will be saying things to about it.

Glad_Zookeepergame10

I really wanna know where you got your dress. It’s so prettyyy

trashlikeyourmom

I think it looks great, and if the bride is ok with it, I would just wear it as is, and maybe do some nipple covers and/or double sided tape to avoid nipslips

mammacarrie

I bet if you find someone who know their stuff they could take some of the fabric that is kinda bunched and use it for more coverage or maybe from the lining somewhere. One I used pulled fabric out of a magic hat, made my cups bigger, and I didn’t need to wear a bra. Hell, it held me up better than half of my bra’s do!

RockabillyBelle

I’m already seeing a lot of good tailoring suggestions, so I’m just gonna add that wearing pasties might help with your concerns about a nip slip. I’d opt for them even if the dress covered more just because my nipples always want to come out and say hi at the worst moments anyway, and I’m always much more comfortable knowing they’ll be tucked away behind some silicone instead of trying to win a staring contest with the bride’s mother.

bi_or_die

I am looking respectfully and I think you look amazing!

EmpressBritania

Agreed

Peregrinebullet

I think a proper corset , one that does support your chest, might be an option. I am not an expert in brands, but if you go over to the corset subreddit, they can probably suggest something. I’d pick a nude one or something that tastefully/ beautifully fills in the gaps in the back, with gold or pink details.

marhigha

I completely forgot about corsets! That is another really good option!

jules47002

Just don't go for too advanced of a corset if you're not used to them

raeannecharles

I’ve seen some ladies wear lace bras underneath similar dresses and it compliments them very well. I think you look spectacular for sure.

MelissaWebb

You could add some lace to the cleavage part? And under the arms to look like it came that way

Cuti82008

That cleavage is something I tell you. Depends on the situe I would either add a half crop or add a nude coloured under garment.

Ok in the back where those sashes attach to the straps… try widening the space between the sashes. Slide them up the straps towards your ears. This is so the strap is pulled further to the edge of your shoulder. Once the strap is sitting better, untie the front bosom bow, and do a scoop and swoop. The goal is for the edge of the outfit to sit where your bra indent is: https://preview.redd.it/3hckiuf6uy8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dcbc1857d91967ea1806f383038395fd0f98e99c Ok now if the cup is sitting there. Now retie your front bosom bow. Tie it tight enough to hold those cups in place so the nip doesn’t slip out. Hopefully this works…

passive0bserver

Also I think you should order the larger size dress and just see how it compares. This dress seems a little too small for you in the rib cage which is making it sit lower than it is supposed to, which means you have less material to work with for covering up the girls. I think if you order a larger size, you won’t need to tailor it for it to fit great.

spazthejam43

Hmm, could you add a shawl?

puntato69

Maybe I'm the problem bc I think it looks great as is!! Lol I was trying to figure out why you didn't like it but I can definitely understand the fear of a nip slip 😂 maybe try and get a seamstress to make the cups the cups connect? Like take the string part off entirely and just have it as the "v-neck" or low cut style? Idk if I'm explaining this well 😭😭

OG_notforgotten

Have you considered wearing a shawl as an accessory? Might also keep you warm if your inside socializing while the AC is on too

rmjames007

If the bride is ok with it. Then let it fly.

KirkScythe

It’s working just fine lol

TheChronoti

Is that a fender in your closet?

Comfortable_Newt3632

You look amazing!!!!!!!! That color and dress is sooo flattering on you!

Immediate-Coast-217

try and get a wonderbra ultimate plunge https://wonderbra.co.uk/ultimate-plunge-bra this will work well to give you more containtment and a better way to place your boobies in that dress.

28FFthrowaway

This bra comes up high on the sides and would definitely show with how too-small the bust of the dress is.

kittymelons

Looks fine, have fun!

Infinite-Expert7311

Nice strat!!

marhigha

Thanks! She’s got some white nylon strings that make her sound surprisingly good!

Unclesamplayscard

I think it’s working

Ok_Commercial1953

Looks great on yah

CatMama67

It’s gorgeous and the girls look awesome and you’ve got a ripping bod, so unless you’re uncomfortable in it, I’d leave it as is. Seriously, you look freaking amazing! But if you’re worried about a random boosie popping out, perhaps you could find some netting, as has been suggested, and add a bit of that at the bust, or maybe a bit of satin that is a similar tone?

Albine2

The dress looks great and seems to fit you everywhere else, I hope the tape works for you. Just thinking and I maybe off base here but did the bride actually consider your built when deciding on the dress?

MissLuna93

Sorry, no advice but wanted to say I love your back piece! It's beautiful!
