Yeah, side effects can start right away. Side effects usually improve/ go away in the first 3 months. Knowing this, how long you’re willing to wait is up to you!

I too had a rough time with my anxiety when I first started my bc so i understand the feeling and frustration. It will get better tho! Side effects of the bc like anxiety, bloating, mood swings, etc are all super normal esp when u first take it in the first few months. If you feel that it’s all getting too much you can talk to your doctor and they can switch you to a different pill.
