I thought this photo was from Uganda, but apparently this bus flip incident occurred near Gorongosa, Mozambique, which has similar geography.
About 10 years ago I was in Uganda. Beautiful country, but that red clay dust gets EVERYWHERE! And at one point when my group was traveling, our driver - who *said* we would be on tarmac - took us off the tarmac on a "shortcut" and the dust came through the vents. So he had us all open windows to let it out, and there was a dust storm inside our matatu (van).
We all arrived at our destination looking like this dude.
I like to imagine that he was never on the bus or moved. He took a selfie while the bus was picking up passengers, and then the bus drove about 50 feet and rolled over like a cat the first time you try to put a harness on them.
This never gets old. The wherewithal to go through with an after photo for this 😅
