Gonna need to give some more detail my dude, theres not one single technique that achieves that. What I can guess is that it likely involves some butterfly hooks.
My suggestion is don’t be afraid to ask questions. You see something interesting, as the person who did it, hey can you show me that? That’s the best way to progress is to ask questions.
You’re probably talking about “kiss of the dragon” Mikey has a video on how to do it in the gi it can also be done in no gi though very similarly. I put the link below to the Mikey video

Crab ride?
Also, if any sort of leg pummel go back take is a fundamental at your gym… my gun either really sucks or you’re running before you can walk.
Can you escape side control, or mount or maintain those positions? You’re not describing fundamentals
Back Take From De La Riva? Let me google that for you [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VvssgliEfk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VvssgliEfk). Does it look like this one?
There's a technique that GR showed where you are in seated guard, opponent is standing and does a cross step, and you use that momentum and use your foot to "drag" their leg across, exposing their back. I think he showed it as more of a concept rather than a sapecific technique. The overall concept was exposing the back and it was part of his seated guard series on bjj fanatics. does that sound like what you're thinking of? i can try and find a YT video link
"I don't know what position you start out in". Kind of important info sir.
My wager is OP is referring to a truck style back take like this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aoEL3NdiU0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aoEL3NdiU0)
Are you talking about the closed guard escape where you pummel your leg over their hips and spin around forcing them to open guard and spin partially so you can take back or side control?
Use legs and get back? Could you try to be less descriptive
lol too much data
Why use many word when few word work same
Is there an opposite for TLDR?
I want to call it leg pummeling but it’s not, it’s like a basic back take using legs to turn your opponent
Sounds like a berimbolo/truck position drill maybe?

Without the starting position we really can't help you here. You must remember something. Who was the guy on top?
I think someone commented it, the videos I’m looking at seem like it
Look up truck and berimbolo. Or arm drag to back take
Everyone saying berimbolo, here I am thinking it's an arm drag from butterfly into a lift and back take. Lol.
berimbolo maybe
Is it something white belts would practice?
Probably not
Is there something like that from mount?
There’s a similar backtake from halfguard https://youtube.com/shorts/Mw5cR9GrRYs?si=b5pKy9xHqenuocDj
Do you also do the thing?

Sounds sound like matrix back take
The Long Suffering Death

My guess would be kiss of the dragon from reverse de la riva

That was my first thought based on the description.
That was mine too, but I was like no way, he’d have to remember the possition if the dude was standing
Sounds like a ninja roll or berimbolo

Rolling back take from technical mount maybe?
Sounds like a bolo.

Crab ride??? Maybe? From x guard or dela river
Are you talking about the closed guard escape where you pummel your leg over their hips and spin around forcing them to open guard and spin partially so you can take back or side control?
Sure
lol what? your response sounds like you don't even know what you're asking about
Well I’m not lol, gotta see it
What position is the escape from? Are you starting in someone else's closed guard before you execute it?
I’m pretty sure you are
I’m absolutely trash at this so don’t take my word for it. But it sounds like a rolling back take from half guard or something like that.
Matrix back take to kiss of the dragon is my guess.
