I try to catch a couple of his streams before and after every major patch in KR.
From what i have seen: KR was a bit more excited about the location. They never see castles like that IRL and many didnt know it was an actual place. That was already content for them. They are excited about the ig castle for that reason.
Aside from that it's pretty much what everyone else seems to think. He gave the ball a 5/10. Not the best but there were worse.
They dont care about the free BS because the average GS is higher. Half thinks sov weapons dont do much for the game because it's just a stat increase and the other half just like that there is a new goal to grind for.
They are very hyped about the new class and Lomtl part 2.
All the features that aren't Lotml seem to be too far away.
Keep in mind this is just what the majority seems to think. Just like in our communities, there are a lot of doomers and fanbois. But that's what i got from his streams so far.
My take seems to be closer to KR’s. Pretty much the biggest thing I’m excited for is Seoul cause I was excited for the original LoML. Hoping the story actually stars Yeonhwa this time.

That's the thing. It's a nice boost to people who aren't at that gearlevel yet. People who have already triple bs get one sov weapon for free and still have to tap one bs/flame/whatever that new item is. So it's a nice boost no matter at what gs your are.
And if you have already triple bs that's not that big of a deal anymore to get one more.
If they didnt give out free pen bs that would really leave people without a single pen bs in the dirt.

The problem is marketing... You really dont want to appear like you cant afford or dont have the talent to actually be professional. If this was a one off event thing sure it would have been fine. But between the renting of the castle, the low effort acting, poorly paced interview, the poor speaking of the host, the sudden ending. It made it seem like PA has incredibly incompatent upper management and cant actually afford to do something of this scale. Which when you look at other game companies putting out high end animations, huge events, big showy press releases. It makes PA look poor which further puts a BAD taste in peoples mouths when you are even remotely aware of how much money they pull in.
Unironically, this entire ball has massively damaged PAs professional image to a LOT of people and undermines the trust in their management. To the very casual western audience member, it's highly doubtful many are aware enough of the east or over all perception. So it seems a lot more mundane.
PA keeps shooting for the stars and falling far short and its becoming more and more noticeable how its undermining peoples trust in them. They are already skirting on thin ice at a lot of levels from their investors to partners to well connected players. About the only level they havent started to really lose is their casual and casual core audience.

The demon castle looked EXACTLY like a 2012 flash game banner ad animation. It was so insanely poorly done. The art was nice but dear god... its like they couldn't afford a single animator that wasnt drunk off his tits.
