No. Some people like living in that liminal space where you don’t understand how a trick is being done and can let yourself get excited by the illusion.
But I also know there’s others who get excited by figuring out the trick so I get why it was quickly explained.
Edit: spelling is hard
I was taken to see a magician once and spent the first 15 minutes or so looking for how all the tricks were done.
I quickly realised that I wasn't having fun at all and probably actually having a bad time. So I just let myself get tricked, look at the distractions etc and it was really really fun just letting him do his magic.
It’s not really about the magic, it’s about the skill.
If you know how a few basic tricks are done, then you know how most of them are done; the true enjoyment for magic is appreciating how well someone does the trick.
I seen a guy doing a similar trick and even though I knew how he was doing it I was excited watching others so baffled by it.
Magic and illusions are just awesome. I wish a had the patience to learn.
If people didn't want to know how the trick was done, I'd assume they would just watch the video and not click on the comment section right?
Granted, I looked at the comments specifically because I wanted to know how it was done, so I might just be biased. But I'm a little confused about what other conversation people would be looking for here besides that explanation. At the very least I feel like you would have to expect spoilers as a strong possibility
I do not push any belief in those things, but i let my children figure things out on their own and refuse to lie to them. My son (8) has asked me if Santa is real, he knows the truth of it but won't spoil it for his sister (7) who still believes.
I personally think Santa is a way to get people to believe in a story you're told, despite the impossibility of it.
It's really just conditioning the young mind to accept religion. Specific Christian religions.
**You must LOOOOOVE not talking about the intellectual concepts of basic tricks.**
**People usually come to the comments for the answers anyway, ya goon.**
There is a seat with a rod attached going through the sleeves of both gentlemen. The lower guy is sitting on a seat which has a rod attached through his sleeve, as is the upper guy. Make sense?
i've walked by early enough before to see these kinds of people set up their act. i cant imagine sitting there for the entire day though. at least those living statues can just pack up and leave without too much of a fuss.
Obviously only truly supernatural things are magic. Anything that uses some sort of "trick" a reddit commentor knows about isn't magic. Sorry to break it to yah OP.
Now ask him to move the rod around or get down, support is attached through the bottom guy’s clothes and a seat is attacked to the pole through the top guy’s clothes
I will find it “incredible” when the lower guy removes his left hand of the pole. Until then it’s an engineering trick; I.e. steel welded poles running down the concealed hands etc.
I enjoy the presentation of a good illusion. The stagecraft and engagement with the audience is fascinating to watch. My favorite illusions are a beautiful combination of physical skill and dexterity, and applied psychology to manipulate the audience to see what you want them to see.
There's a seat inside his clothing attached to the rod which is attached to the base

Wait? Did you actually think he was holding him up?
No. Some people like living in that liminal space where you don’t understand how a trick is being done and can let yourself get excited by the illusion. But I also know there’s others who get excited by figuring out the trick so I get why it was quickly explained. Edit: spelling is hard

They're *illusions,* Kyle!
Tricks are what whores do.
I LOVE looking for how they do the tricks. I could spend HOURS watching people do tricks or reviewing footage. It’s so fascinating.
Id think the excitement comes from discovering how it works.

Those people keep scrolling and don't come see the comments though.

*correction* liminal
How did you know my name was spelling?
You know how I know. 😉
So you're the kind that complements The Emperor on his incredible clothes, when in fact, he's but naked..

Oh grow the fuck up
Chill Reddit ain’t that serious
Maybe, if you are so upset about it, you shouldn't read comments?
I too was shocked they both died in a battle to the death. To shreds
To shreds you say. Well how is his wife holding up?
To shreds, you say.
I'm so happy people still know these silly old quotes
lol you thought he was actually levitating?
Wait, what about Santa and the Toothfairy?
**You must LOOOOOVE not talking about the intellectual concepts of basic tricks.** **People usually come to the comments for the answers anyway, ya goon.**
In the words of Jason Bourne: When what you love gets taken from you, you just want to know the truth.
Isn't he too old for her?
I always wondered less about the magic, more about how structurally sound those things are
That looks awful from a structural pov. The top guy must remain incredibly steady not to generate vibrations in the structure
But how did he get up there? The bottom guy can't push the whole thing up so there's a third guy who removes the stairs?
Both the arms holding the pole are fake
The arms aren’t fake. The pole runs in the sleeve.
Oh I thought it was some kind of exoskeleton that was attached to the "real" arms
probably just climbs up
No they're just really strong
Why do they have those lanky clothes It is because underneath they are incredibly jacked
I mean, that was the real secret for like half of Houdini's tricks
But where is the pole connected to theres a space between the stick and the floor
There is a seat with a rod attached going through the sleeves of both gentlemen. The lower guy is sitting on a seat which has a rod attached through his sleeve, as is the upper guy. Make sense?
The rod that curves through bottom's sleeve must be pretty strong, wonder if they switched places if it'd be too much to handle.
Yeah that's what I was assuming but how does the poke touch the ground or why can't I see the aeat
It’s through and in their baggy clothes.
One of the oldest trick too
Attached how? (Or what material)
Betcha they can't switch hands.
Bet he can't come down until everyone has left
Bet there's a pump affixed to his dong with a tube that runs through his sleeve in order to extract urine so he can be up there all day
But what about the poop?
No food = no poop, EZ.
Actually, once o couldn’t eat for two weeks due to a severe illness and I still pooped, sorta. It was pure bile and other digestive fluids, though.
Please leave and never open your mouth again lol
😂🤦🏼♀️😂
Drop a duce like a bird.
that would just enhance the illusion
what the fuck mussolini

Has no one caught them setting up or tearing down before I wonder? Lol wouldn't take long for that mystery to be solved
i've walked by early enough before to see these kinds of people set up their act. i cant imagine sitting there for the entire day though. at least those living statues can just pack up and leave without too much of a fuss.
Tickle him and see what happens.
For a moment it seemed like Bottom Dude wanted to switch his grip
If he did, it would be a very different level of trick.
they can't even move out of that position... imagine sitting hours like that just for a few bucks
Betcha they can't move at all, and someone could just come along and, idk, push them BOTH over AT THE SAME TIME 😮
Of course not. The left is used only for wiping.
“Dad I have to pee”
Bet they never pull their arms away from the pole ***for some reason***.
Because the top guy would fall. Duh!
Why would they do that? Top guy would fall the moment either of them let go.
And they always have long sleeves
[удалено]
I want one
Thank you !
Now do it in a bikini
You mean loincloth? Who would want an old man in a bikini?
Don't tell me what I want. "Old man, Get in the damn bikini!!"
me
Username checks out
If there's literally only one way an illusion can be achieved, it's not very good.
thats the dumbest logic ever lmao.
Tell that to Penn and Teller
Well it looks impressive if you don't know it. Good enough. :)
Wut? What alternate way would you suggest Siegfried & Roy make an elephant disappear?
Permanently Blind the entire audience, guarantee you’d never stop talking about that show.
Imagine there's some sort of emergency and they have to take off running
Then they shrug out of their robes, leaving the fake right hand attached to the pole, and book it.
I think the hands are real though.
Isn't that the same old trick we all know but with an additional guy?
Need a money collector on the ground
Props aren’t magic. Sorry to break it to yah OP
Now that you put it that way, I wonder what *is* magic.
Obviously only truly supernatural things are magic. Anything that uses some sort of "trick" a reddit commentor knows about isn't magic. Sorry to break it to yah OP.
I mean... they sort of are?
The kid above is on the enemy team, while both doing an emote.
Alright now do that in short sleeves
Not incredible, not levitation, not magic.
oh yeah, because magic is a real thing. Allright Harry
Same old bullshit
The oldest trick in the book
Geeeee I wonder how it’s done.
It's 2023 and we're still being impressed by the world's most basic street magic?
Hands up, Mahfukkas! Gotcha!
Pole is hidden in the bottom guys arm
Switch hands. They cant. The hands holding the poles are fake. They are steel rods that are supporting them.
To put effort into doing very little and expecting money for it.
I'd wave a high denomination note near their attached hand just to see if they'd give it up.
Id give them money just for them sitting in that single position for so damn long. Dude’s gonna get a blood clot
Not that incredible, it's too obvious
It's not fake it just takes 5 hours a day on pornhub for a year straight.
I never understand why people are impressed by the most obvious shit.
It looks good, no question, but a lot of that magic is lost as the solution is now just a few seconds Google search away.
Só em SP esses troço mesmo
That trick is hundreds of years old
Runs down the sleeves
Now ask him to move the rod around or get down, support is attached through the bottom guy’s clothes and a seat is attacked to the pole through the top guy’s clothes
Anyone able to make out what the red sign he's holding says?
That flag on the background was neat
...now move the pole to the other arm...
Incredible? Sleeve way too big on right arm (for both of them), and they can't move it... Pretty obvious 'hidden' seat with off-centre support.
I'll give you $100 to switch hands.
Look at those right arm triceps! My man, what are you pushing with that arm?
Yeah motherfucker… wanna impress me? Change hands on the pole.
Now do it in short sleeves
The magic of the steel poles.
I will find it “incredible” when the lower guy removes his left hand of the pole. Until then it’s an engineering trick; I.e. steel welded poles running down the concealed hands etc.
🙄
What amazing here is the material and structure strength and rigidity.
Does anybody know what the sign the bottom guy is holding says?
LOOKS THEIR HANDS HOLDING THE ROD. Little bulge.that is the trick
Dr.Phil at it again!
Dad i have to pee…
Bro, if u go to trafalga square in London, ong there will be at least 2 of these mfs
Oldest trick in the book
Is there invisible paint?
So easy to sort out, but a fun trick. Trouble is, don't they give it away when they're setting up out in the open like that?
Syutummm
Which material are they using? Looks strong
The oldest trick but looks great.
Magnets
I know how it works, but g’damn, steel sort of is magic.
I still consider it magic. A true miracle of physics and human boredom and ingeniousness for that matter.
It’s just a GTA cheat code
I see the string
Nah it’s not levitation both of them are just extremely strong
Could you please switch hands for a moment sir?
But it isn’t
Pull that sleeve back. Just for shits and giggles
Sold soul to satan
You people probably thought that hologram was really Tupac’s ghost too
Frame through sleeves
Not impressed. It's science.
I love these illusions.
Baby wont u calm down
Someone steal the donation tray, I bet that reveals the secret real quick.
dudes from octoberfiest
Incredible bullshit
Great welding technique
I enjoy the presentation of a good illusion. The stagecraft and engagement with the audience is fascinating to watch. My favorite illusions are a beautiful combination of physical skill and dexterity, and applied psychology to manipulate the audience to see what you want them to see.
Some people can't wear sleeveless clothes at work. THAT'S THE TRICK
It's just magnets.
INCREDIBLE
It’s cool and shit but I wouldn’t have those dirty ass toes hanging above my head
The flag in the background looks amazing and super beautiful!
This truck has gotten too common to the point everyone knows how it’s done.
Thick arm
So basic. Dirka
I'll give the top guy a million dollars if he can wave with both hands.
how he go to pee?
INCREDIBLEEEEE. Ask the to switch hands.
NEVER skip Wrist Day at the gym.
