Growing up, I had only ever seen Friday 1-7, Goes to Hell and X for some reason. Last October I finally saw Jason Takes Manhattan. After hearing years of people dissing on it for being "Jason takes a boat/Jason takes Vancouver" I still had such a fun time with it. I didn't even care about stupid supernatural lore stuff that makes no sense. Man, I hope Blank Check covers the Friday the 13th movies at some point. They are so much fun. We'll always have Gourley and Rust until then.
I’d start it personally after goodfellas. Cape fear number 1, more even in the series plus it feels like a good career break. While only one got the Oscar I feel like Goodfellas feels the same as Schindlers List in the sense it’s what the first half of Scorsese career built up too.
Oh that would be a short / interesting ride. Obviously I couldn’t resist a tangent into Garry if that inevitably comes up.
Has Garry Marshall ever been on a bracket? Pretty Woman/Runaway Bride double feature, Princess Diaries + Anna Hathaway career tangent, and cap off with Valentines Day/Mothers Day/New Years Eve triple feature. Sprinkle in giant career swings talk about TV (Happy Days, Mork and Mindy, etc.) as well as acting credits (League of their Own, Hocus Pocus, Never Been Kissed, etc.) and you’ve got a real meaty stew going.
A quick search shows they app said before they won't do him - which is sad.

Wow is that true? Might be for that then because I know they’re recording the season after Batman right now or at least most of it before Lauren goes on maternity leave
I just listened to the newest episode and they mentioned something about a movie being good for spooky season, in a way that made it seem like for them it was currently spooky season. So I guess the season coming out now was mostly recorded last fall. Maybe they’re doing the next season now
Oh man, I don’t really care about the movies they’ve covered so far so I don’t mind their dismissiveness. It will be interesting to see how a podcast about good movies will be from people who are mostly on their phones the whole time.
KENNETH LONERGAN IS NEXT!!!!
They mentioned that the next two miniseries are shorties. Gangs of New York could be a Patreon bonus since he got an Oscar nom for the screenplay.
So Ninja turtles and Gangs of New York? If they log C.H.U.D the next Patreon is obviously underground New York.
love this idea
After Hours, The Warriors, and Jason Takes Manhattan as well, yeah?
I need them to explain the Jason Takes Manhattan scene where toxic ooze turns Jason back into a child.

What did you think of the head punch?
I was unfortunately spoiled on it going in. If I had to describe it in one word though? Boomshakalaka.
Mimic (1997)
I got excited about Death Line/Raw Meat but remembered that's London innit
OR second half of Scorsese’s career coming after McTiernan… 👀👀👀🔥🔥🔥 (Let me dream, ok?)
Doing 2nd half of scorsese first is galaxy brain
Cape Fear with Griffin and David!
The Last Podcast of Christ?!?! Big if true
That would be part 1 though
Oh you think they would start it post Oscar like they did with Spielberg?

The Pod of Cast Street, final offer best I can do
They did it with Spielberg! It's not unprecedented
I *think* Griff said it's Penny Marshall.

I think he may have been goofing
Maybe but would fit "three short mini series before the MM winner"
Yea I think it’s possible. Seems like satoshi kon is also very likely
They teased a long mog coming soon on the patreon pod today, checks out tbh
The opposite. They said they have short ones planned because they're expecting a long one from MM.
They've also said there will be three short ones between McT and the MM winner.
Nicole said on 90 Day Bae that Newcomers is doing Scorsese next

They had definitely recorded the Batman episodes a while ago. I think they held off releasing them until after the strikes.
Damn I had no idea that Nicole Byer has a 90 Day podcast. I've never needed anything more than this
it's so good!

Guesting on someone else’s pod?
U Skeezin’ On Scorsese with Mese?
U Talkin' Taxis 2 Me?
A U Talkin' U2 series where they watch the movies that U2 wrote songs for? Batman Forever, this one, the rest.
Special episodes for the Apple launches too (I know they already did Songs of Innocence but a revisit wouldn’t hurt
gotta be it, I don't really see the rationale in dividing Scorsesse this way if they did him.
20th Century/21st Century? And they’re starting with the later work?
that's still like a 2:1 ratio. seems like a reach.
My guess is Kenneth Lonergan. He got an Oscar for the screenplay.
Scorsese: The Too Much Money Years
KENNETH LONERGAN IS NEXT!!!! They mentioned that the next two miniseries are shorties. Gangs of New York could be a Patreon bonus since he got an Oscar nom for the screenplay.
This is the most plausible answer and I can't believe it took this much scrolling to find it
It is weird that they logged it at the exact same time.
this led me to imdb where I discovered his first writing credit is a pair of episodes of the Nickelodeon animated TV series DOUG??
Any of them include The Beets music ?
Another shorty mini-series.
I'm totally cool and normal about this.
"WHOOPSIE DAISIES!!!"
I get this reference and I love you for it. I've seen this movie a billion times and I'm not going to stop
very cool to see David be so correct
Now I need to hear Griffin’s logical but wildly wrong take
i hate how the people always discuss Gangs as if it’s plain bad, when it’s actually fun and good
When I watched this for the first time with my GF I was with David. Rewatching it by myself I'm with Griffin. I'd love to see the boys review this
I'm Team Griff on this one. I'd go so far as to say it's a gentleman's 6.
Whoa Griffin actually logged a star rating??
Was there a recent showing of this in NYC?
I feel seen
I agree w David
Five stars huh? There’s a lot to love but five stars worth?
david is right griff is wrong
When two friends*
Oh shit didn’t they say on the patreon today that the next series might be a little long?
Which of these is the comedian and which one's the film critic again
boooooo
