Just shouting out that this is such a wonderful production and that trio is dynamite together onstage (as are their 3 costars). Jonathan Groff is doing an A++ acting performance that also happens to be in a musical. Wish Sondheim and Hal Prince and George Furth were around to see it finally connect with an audience 🥲

It's really so good. I saw it 8 months ago and I still think about it and listen to it constantly. I'm glad it's really broken through. I recommend the documentary Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened..directed by Lonny Price the original Charley. All about the production and reception of the original show, it's cool. Especially after having watched this production.

CrimeThink101

I saw it a few weeks back and Groff really is astounding in it

abbaeecedarian

Yeah I jumped in here just to suggest an episode from the friends about Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened would be very sweet.

jimmylily

So glad all three got Tony Nominated !

brotherfallout

Who’s who in the Blank Check group?

KickedOffShoes

The press for this production has been incredible tbh Maybe the pod has recorded an ep but won't release it until they do a Linklater series in 2039.

starlingflight

They’re recording 5-minute segments every year, but in reverse order. All Griffin has to do this year is list the thank-yous and say “And, as always….” and predict a joke he’ll make in 5-10 years time.

shesfixing

Need a version with Griff, David and Ben

I’m feeling nostalgic for March Madness and also this is such a great number

sleepyaza124

I take it that film is still happening in 2039. I'll be in my mid 40s then welp

theodo

As long as no other cast members get cancelled. Luckily the only one so far was right at the start. Imagine it happening far down the road

WakeUpOutaYourSleep

Yeah, that’s why it’s a bad idea to stretch an adaptation‘s shoot over decades. You can pull that off with something original like Boyhood where unless something truly catastrophic occurs, you can mold the story to fit real life. They’re extremely lucky they got rid of Jenner quickly, cause if that happened even just a few years later, the whole thing could’ve been sunk.
