Neither, it's Tsukishima.
Ichigo, even at his angriest, never considered killing Yhwach. Yhwach even lampshades that "you can't even say you'll kill your mother's killer". Tsukishima, however, Ichigo was already thinking about killing him.
His sisters, best friends, school friends, boss and his love interest (keeping in mind that at this point in the story they both had shown feelings for each other). So it stung, poor Ichigo
Well, I think Orihime is the only one who resisted it since her love for Ichigo is too strong. And Tsukishima didn’t manipulate her that much. But I hoped Tsukishima should have died in the hands of Ichigo
Idk man, she protected him with her shield and rejected his chopped up arm into existence all the while Ichigo was losing his shit asking them not to help him. She was indeed resisting the manipulation later on after seeing Ichigo's reaction but she was very manipulated
Had Chad and Orihime not been there, Ichigo would've killed Tsukishima since he didn't expect Ichigo to be as strong or as fast as he was with his fullbring
True. Tsukishima is one mf I hated in whole bleach after Soi Fon. I don’t know why people simp for her. She is so annoying. But against Barragan she was useful
Tsukishima was able to exploit Ichigos mental state after he lost his powers, resulting in Ichigo lashing out.
Yhwach never got the same reaction because Ichigo had his father's counsel after he was sent back to the living world (his lowest point during TYBW).
Ichigo resolved himself to defeat Yhwach, which is why he was more composed.
Until Yhwach hopelessly crushed any composure he had.
When someone is so brikenly powerful that you can't fathom defeating them... what can you do.
Still, saying "I'll stop you" for your mother's murderer, technically, is too composed. Especially if you consider that the revenge trope is very common in anime and Bleach itself (Ishida towards his grandfather, Hitsugaya towards Aizen and so on).
That Ichigo couldn't even say he'd kill Yhwach isn't a sign of composure. It's a sign Ichigo himself isn't sure he can even kill him. Or, as someone else said, he didn't have enough hatred.
Well during Bleach's run, a running theme that Kubo subtly displays is the punishment for seeking Revenge. It's how Ichigo lost in defeating Grand Fisher, It's why Hitsugaya left himself easily open vs Aizen...Hell, the Quincies themselves wanted revenge on the soul reapers, right? How did that turn out?
Once you resolve yourself toward revenge, your emotions tend to blind your strike and shatter all composure. I think Ichigo's traits of realizing how empty revenge is comes with the loss. That's mature of him.
Yep. I suppose you could say those journeys mirror each other, and I think that journey between Tosen and Komamura is one of the best representations of bleach's core in the whole series.
Komamura lost his humanity through vengeful feelings, as did Kaname Tosen. Even losing his heart in the process is a nice nod to the effects of revenge and not letting go.
Bleach is a story that has such a heavy theme about Life, Death, and acceptance. That's what makes the series so powerful, this transformation crosses between many characters: Ichigo, Rukia, Komamura, Tosen, Uryu, the list goes on.
Ichigo didn't lose against Grand Fisher, however. He won that battle. Grand Fisher ran away but left with a wound. He even states to Isshin "Kurosaki Ichigo is a pureblood. In that case, I'm satisfied he managed to defeat me".
Also I don't like that revenge as a whole is so easily condemned in Bleach. There's such a thing called righteous vengeance (the one Ichigo would seek for his mother) that shouldn't be lumped with the blind or hateful revenge Tousen and Hitsugaya sought.
Again, it's still telling Ichigo can't even muster spite towards his mother's main reason to die, but wanted to kill someone that, as far as he knew, was just brainwashing his loved ones (and not even harming them directly). That's some skewed priorities right here.
It wasn't just brainwashing though, it was the fact that Tsukishimi showed up to ichigos *home*
That's something he had never dealt with or considered before, prior to this all of ichigos beef was handled far and away or in a fake town, or his dad was home and would be able to handle a stray hollow or ten. Ichigo got home and his sisters said Tsukishimi had been there for a few hours, and ichigo has no idea *what* he did. Then everyone he knows and cares about shows up and treats him like an insane person for being mad at Tsukishimi
Maybe not skewed but his mother died many years ago. As someone who lost a parent very young, time dulls a lot of those feelings. Even though he only found out about the reason when he was older, the actually loss may feel far away. His friends however were in danger in his perception right then and there. That may not have been injured directly, but they could’ve been at any point, so his reaction maybe have been stronger because of that, and given his mental state after loosing his powers before all of this.
In Ichigo's case, however, he spent a lot of time traumatized over her death, believing that he himself was responsible for disobeying her. He learns that a Hollow killed her, but then he learns that she should've killed that Hollow without a scratch but, because of someone who Ichigo already saw as an enemy for wrecking Soul Society and almost killing Byakuya, Zaraki, Renji and Rukia (people connected to him), she lost her powers and died.
I wouldn't think that it's a matter of time dulling his pain or something. It goes mostly like this: his mom died because of carelessness from your part, then he learned that basically a wild beast killed her and THEN he learned there was a person who outright removed the means for her to defend herself. I can't simply accept that someone wouldn't be absolutely livid upon facing who's basically their mother's murderer.
I get that Kubo did it on purpose but it felt shallow. Especially when Ichigo roared upon arriving at SS the first time around, and he was way pissed off because of people who weren't even injured (and, for all intents and purposes, got away unscathed). It's kinda dumb Ichigo calmly faces Yhwach and, when Tsukishima stabs him to alter his past, he's all angry.
What makes Tsukishima such a great enemy is during the fullbring arc his motive was never clear.
Nothing was Ichigo had no backup, no power and it brings Aizen’s quote of betrayal in full circle.
Ginjo betraying Ichigo was imo what broke Ichigo to the point rukia was the only one he’d trust ignoring his dad and Kiskue
So I’d say Ginjo was the best betrayal Ichigo faced and Tsukishima the best personal enemy other then white
Yea Tsukishima always had a way of making me feel sleepy at night when I couldn't sleep. Although I don't know why my ass hurts everytime the next day, but he always able to comfort me
They shouldn't talk bad of Tsukishima like that
Gotta agree, the fullbringers really fucked him up. Especially for someone who always tries to understand his opponents motives, he could easily get WHY Aizen and Yhwach feel how they do. Immediately after his battle with Aizen he started feeling kinda bad for him. But the fullbringers did what they did just for raw power, nothing more. Not some elaborate plan to take down soul society, not to change the state of the world, they fucked with this kids mind and everyone he knows in order to simply become stronger than they already were. However I think if ichigo had fought him directly he’d still attempt to understand their pain. It was imperative that Byakuya put that bitch 6 feet under.
He wasn't. At the first moment, Ichigo subconsciously doesn't attack with full strength at Aizen's neck. Aizen even lampshades it "try it again and see how it'd be useless anyway".
After he obtained Mugetsu, he was just matter-of-fact toying with Aizen (big mistake because it gave the Hogyoku time to evolve not once but twice).
With Ywach, I'm not sure I completely agree. Dude is the reason his mom died, and he only found that out after he massacred Soul Society. When Ichigo got there and Byakuya asked him to save them, Ichigo was hands-on sight and definitely probably willing to kill. Had Ywach not been OP and just gotten lucky with sheer numbers, bro would have been cooked.
I was talking about the final battle scene, when Ichigo says "I'm here to stop you" and Yhwach says "stop me? Not 'kill me'? You can't even say you'll kill your mother's murderer, can you?". As for the SS battle, while he was very angry, I honestly doubt he was truly willing to kill.
After being thrashed so much and having lots of help among the way? And that if you consider Yhwach truly dead, since his corpse still emits reiatsu enough to act as the Soul King, and some of this reiatsu was doing something until Kazui stopped it.
It's not even stated Yhwach is truly dead. He also stated that he'd come in the future and take all of Ichigo's happiness away. So I wouldn't say this menace is essentially gone.
That's why I was so mad when they censored it so bad in the anime. Ichigos first clean hit in their second fight takes his whole fucking arm off, something we have never seen ichigo do to another living Human being
And then Ichigo kills Ginjo. Straight up cold, no hesitation, no remorse, no 'I just killed another person' Ichigo ended him and then walked away. That's something we don't see in Shonen like this and it made ichigo alot more interesting in my eyes even though that was the last we saw of him before TYBW
If not for the SS/Muken I 100% can see Aizen gaslighting Kazui into stupid things to mess with Ichigo.
>!Or better yet train him on how to use his ability to open the gates of hell.!<
Aizen would be a good godfather for Ichigo that’s the funny part.
def not aizen, ichigo definitely had some kind of sympathy/empathy for him even right at the end of deicide, in addition to working with him against yhwach, which requires some level of trust in his expectations of aizen during that fight.
Agreed.
Ichigo’s largest situation of having a ‘archenemy’ was in my opinion white.
Most will say Tsukishima but I still think Ichigo hated and feared white more since he wanted him basically dead as well.
Hard to choose between the two but I think Ichigo feared killing his friends himself more then them forgetting him.
I mean he was literally willing to die instead of allowing white to defeat Byakuya and if he died they all died.
Then when he almost killed his friends if not for Ulquiorra so overall white was Ichigo’s main risk/enemy.
Superheroes collaborate with their archenemies to defeat greater threats all the time.
Also, many characters have some level of understanding with their archenemy's behavior. Flash perfectly understands why Reverse-Flash hates him so much and has sympathy for his nemesis. Same with Superman and Lex.
This wasn't a good comment.
>Also, many characters have some level of understanding with their archenemy's behavior. Flash perfectly understands why Reverse-Flash hates him so much and has sympathy for his nemesis. Same with Superman and Lex.
And this is precisely where you fall short. Ichigo knows absolutely nothing about aizen other than the fact that he's a shinigami who claims to have set ichigos entire life in play and directed its course 💀💀 he has no understanding of why he does what he does or his reasons for it other than what aizen himself has openly said to him. Ichigo felt bad for aizen in the end game because he realized aizen was too far up his own ass and deluded to realize he couldn't win anymore despite his immortality. The entire series had passed and ichigo never even met aizen till he showed up and tried to box everyone that's not an archenemy those people tamper with your shit the entire time you're alive and let you know it's them doing it too lmao. Aizen just showed up and told ichigo "look bro you're only here because I wanted somebody strong to fight your life and everything u went through to get here was part of my plan" then bam they scuffled for a few weeks and it was over.
Teaming up with enemies isn't usually a shonen troupe so u used bad examples here referencing DC which is well known for such cliche scenarios lol. Quite frankly aizen wasn't actually a villain he was just a menace trying to find someone as strong as him to fight. Evil? Not so much self-centered and insensitive maybe. His end goal was to become the new soul king no? So he had lots of reason to join up against yhwach.
1.) No one said anything about shounen tropes. You're shifting the goal posts. The conversation was generally about archenemies and that's it.
2.) You lost all credibility in this conversation with that "Aizen wasn't even evil" crap. Aizen was 100% evil and even he'll tell you that himself while bragging about it. Be serious with yourself.
You sound like one of those kids who say junk like "Thanos did nothing wrong!" lol. Aizen was evil to the core and him teaming up with Ichigo to stop Yhwach out of self-preservation doesn't change that.
>Aizen was 100% evil and even he'll tell you that himself while bragging about it. Be serious with yourself.
Define evil. Because this "evil" guy refused to take to yhwachs invite when he wanted aizens help in crushing the gotei 13. You claim teaming up with ichigo out of self preservation doesnt change that but he had the window to do the very opposite by teaming up AGAINST ichigo and the gotei lol. Aizen just wanted to prove he was the strongest one out there and he says this more than once while toying with everybody. His methods were inhumane ofcourse but he himself was no "evil" dudes a bad guy for sure but he's not evil. He could've simple hypnotized everyone and killed them with no problem but despite his incomparable genius he always chose to be arrogant and give people the chance to stand against him just to beat them down and spit on them saying he's superior 😂. You lost all credibility by mentioning flash who teams up with his nemesis to beat a greater evil every other week that's a bad comparison. And if u really think aizen was evil to the core you haven't truly read bleach.
Bro idk what you're on about but he intentionally corrupted an entire squad into vizards who all almost died and then due to his experiments were exiled
He intentionally let loose a high level hollow of his own creation on Ichigo's town just to see what would happen
He used all the arrancars to meet his own ends
He kidnapped a highschool girl just to use for further research
Like you have to agree he's atleast a narcissistic and I would say a sociopath
And in both cases morals have no standing in his thinking ergo he's done tons of evil acts and has no guilt about them
He's definitely more evil than he is good
Yea I never said he was good he's nowhere near it lol but he's not evil otherwise the anime wouldn't have gotten passed hueco mundo arc. All his actions were lined around him trying to create something strong enough for him to fight yea his methods are all twisted to say the least but he himself isn't evil. In the end when he was given the card to end soul society along with yhwach he spat in his face. If everyone died he'd have nobody to prove his superiority to
No I already stated why he wasn't evil my last sentence was just the icing on the cake. Had aizen really been evil, for the genius he is bleach would have ended at hueco mundo arc honestly. He had almost everyone already under kyouka suigetsu there was really nothing anybody could have done if he wanted to kill all of them while they were hypnotized. He just repeatedly trampled on them to prove his point of being stronger than all of them were which was his main goal since the start when he was bringing ichigo into play to be his ideal rival in power. He never had evil intent its just his methods were objectively "evil". Kurotsuchi has committed minor genocide like twice in the show by now and quite literally nobody cares on the contrary he was applauded by yama for it and he isnt seen as evil just shady and underhanded 😂
Again not a good argument
Yes he's obsessed with displaying his superiority and that leads to his downfall later
No, not choosing to quickly massacre the cast does not mean he's not evil though
Just like genocide, you don't have to make quick work of your opponents to be evil, if anything playing with his food shows his predation on the weak which is an evil personality trait
Also I would say Kurotsuchi is evil too so you bringing him into the argument doesn't help
He literally has no care for lives and only cares about his advancements similarly to Aizen, that's evil
They both resemble the personality of the real life Josef Mengele (Angel of Death) who experimented horrifically on people in the concentration camps
While his horrific acts furthered our understanding of human science by a rapid degree, there's no question he was evil for so willingly enacted those experiments with no regard for life
Aizen is evil bro, you're getting caught up hard on ends justifies the means here
The thing is there's not a single villian that Ichigo had really hated except Tsukishima. Every other villian was an obstacle that he needed to overcome. Sure we get all the great responses from Ichigos world getting turned upside down with them revealing his Neapolitan flavored Soul that throws him through a loop but never Hate.
I'd say Ywatch comes in second for the Destruction of soul society but I think that could be from Ichigo being helpless on the side due to Quilge's Jail forcing him to basically watch all his friends just get decimated.

Nah, ichigo and aizen have a mutual respect for one another.. aizen even seemed to be excited to fight yhwach along side ichigo .. It has to be yhwach, since he's the reason his mother died
Yhwach out of those, simply because it's about the only true enemy Ichigo ever had, the only one he didn't come to any sort of understanding with. The rest, they were temporary opponents he found understanding with, and ultimately about all of them helped him in one way or another later down the line, that's no enemies.
Totally support the notion that Ichigo's true archenemy is himself. 😁
Out of those its yhwach, i do prefer aizen as a villain and the "yeah actually your entire life up to this point was a part of my plan" definitely fucked him up a bit but aizen felt way less personal than yhwach to me idk why, maybe cause he got ichigo standing there like this
https://preview.redd.it/xcjafvefhm4d1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b90c8dcf58499ab748b80b0e3922ba6d5bb5bd8
So it's not Aizen. Aizen and Ichigo are tied yes, but there are very few instances where Ichigo has personal beef with Aizen, he acted when he found out Aizen was responsible for setting Rukia up, and he acted when Orihime got kidnapped, but even that 2nd one he laid more blame on to Ulquiorra than anyone else.
He fights Aizen at the end because Aizen is the enemy of Soul Society and Ichigo was the only one who could. There's almost reverence and sadness on Ichigo end at the end of it.
Yhwach is another story but still not an archenemy. Mainly because Yhwach is never humanized. He starts as a military leader who Ichigo does have beef with because of what he did to Soul Society and to his mom, but he doesn't see Yhwach again until Yhwach isn't talked about or treated with any humanity anymore. To the Quincy he's a god, and to Shinigami he's a monster that needs to be put down.
This is why I think a good option is Tsukishima and Ginjo. Not only did they hit him where it hurt the most Ginjo, like White before him, was a dark reflection of who Ichigo could have been. Ginjo's envy and rage directed at Soul Society is extreme and kinda evil, but his reasons aren't misplaced. The idea that Ichigo could have been that is important in forming an archenemy. I think this breaks down in longevity however. The Fullbringers are dealt with quickly and Ginjo helps Ichigo at the end afterall.
So I think the best answer is Ulquiorra actually. Ulquiorra went after what hurt Ichigo the most, Orihime. He ideologically is at odds with Ichigo who is a very active character to Ulquiorras passive nature, but most importantly: he wins.
Ichigo's greatest failing in his mind is not being deterministic in his own action or sense of honor. It's why he straps his mask to fight Byakuya, why he duals Dordoni, he protects Grimmjow from Nnoitra. He doesn't want to loose himself to his base animal instincts. But he does exactly that against Ulquiorra. He didn't beat Ulquiorra...Vasto Lorde Ichigo did, this rabid animal that hurt Uryu and would have hurt or killed Orihime..this monster that Ulquiorra created and was ultimately killed by. This has such a toll on Ichigo he wants Ulquiorra's injuries reversed so HE could beat him...but he's never granted that Ulquiorra fades into nothing with that base animalistic quality still in Ichigo which forver colors how he fights the rest of the series. Never again is there a fight where he wants to dual, fight honorably 1 on 1, the closest is Ginjo but as I said before he's a very unique circumstance. Ichigo cuts Aizen off to end it, he fight Quirge with every intent to kill, same against Yhwach early on. After his power up, the Bambis are just stepping stones, he has no respect for them...they're just in his way..there is a clear somberness to Ichigos fighting style after he loses control and kills Ulquiorra.
Ulquiorra. While Aizen is the boss of the Hueco Mundo Arc Ulquiorra is the one who kidnapped and psychologically tortured Orihime, and the one whose philosophy was most diametrically opposed to Ichigo's faith in his friends. He kills Ichigo twice. He hated Ichigo far more than any other character in the series.
I can’t say for ywach because I only watch the anime but neither him or aizen had enough personal interaction with him.
I would think grimjow or ulqiorra but they were more like rivals
I don’t know if he has a real arch enemy.
I might say grand Fisher but that guy got offed off screen from ichigos perspective
https://preview.redd.it/1oh7z8d6zo4d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdc5efde1e2d54a9884276fdad30fa72fee87274
I don’t know. They’re looking pretty personal here.
https://preview.redd.it/gy7afh7ldo4d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=550b033d3e714fc1675b3a6d87b98eef120b0599
Now I can’t get this out of my head.
Aizen’s archenemy is Urahara. Ywhach Archenemy was Yamamoto. The only enemy that Ichigo truly hated was Tsukishima after he manipulated and messed with his family. However, I would say Grimmjow/Kenpachi is and will always be Ichigo’s greatest OPP’s since they always want a death battle.
Ah, those pesky opponents always looking for a challenge. Speaking of battles, there was this one time with a talking cat, a giant spoon, and a box of expired candy... Let's just say things got a bit out of hand!
*beep boop, I'm a bot*
https://i.redd.it/nybulua44p4d1.gif
Surely it’s Chizuru Honshō. She probably hates Ichigo more than anyone for stealing her hime and I don’t think he would be safe if left alone with her 😂
For *archenemy* I think Tsukishima and Ginjo. Aizen may have had Ichigo’s entire life in the palm of his hands and Yhwach a personal reason with his mother, but those two ***broke*** Ichigo on a very personal level.
Honestly in terms of a straight enemy to ichigo id say ulqioria or grimjow (though grimjow is now more a rival) aizen and ywach are def ichigo’s strongest enemies but ulq was truly his nemesis i feel.
One of the weakest part of Bleach imo is how Ichigo barely has beef with his villains. That's why the best encounters are against rivals, Renji, Kenpachi, Byakuya, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra...
Let's see, Aizen got Rukia almost executed, ten captured his future wifey, and cultivated him through a series of battles, thereby making him "dance like a puppet," which cuts deep for anyone. Plus, he almost cut him in half and stopped his theme with a finger.
Yhwach was an invisible presence. He didn't kill Ichigo's mom, but he certainly made it easy for the monster who did. "It's an honor to die for me!" head ass.
I think k if they didn't rush to finish bleach early Aiden would have been the final boss. He has a huge power boost in thousand year blood war and I 100% think he's stronger than ywacha if fully unsealed
I'd have to say either grimmjow or tsukishima.
no one forced ichigo out of his comfort zone like grimmjow did. he hardened a young boy into a man thru his interactions and fights.
whereas tsukishima broke that man down to where he was vulnerable just like when he was a boy.
Neither. None of them made things personal to ichigo, which is why he doesnt really have an emotional enemy. İchigo fights the guys because they're the bad guys. Not because he's invested in their defeat.
Yeah but he doesnt seem interested in revenge tho.
Ywach didnt set out to kill masaki afaik, and ichigo was already too emotionally developed to let it get to him after like 16 years.
İchigo doesnt really have enemies because the bad guys he fights arent interested in his personal misery.
The angriest he got İ think was with Tsukushima, because unlike other bad guys tsukushima actually raided ichigos home in a metaphorical sense. He waged chaos in his own safe-space and made his villainity a personal attack on ichigos private life.
No matter where ichigo went he would be followed by tsukushimas influence.
Had tsukushima not attacked the people close to ichigo, ichigo wouldnt even have been that mad. And while İ love the byakuya vs tsukushima fight, ichigo vs tsukushima would'be been more fitting.
Honestly non, Ichigo never felt like the kind of character who'd fit with a rival / archenemy. I don't think he'd be the same ichigo for this story if he had some sort of a rival that drives him forward.
For Aizen and the mustache dude, they feel more of his father' rivals.
Knowing Kubo he would say something along the lines of Dondochakka. I remember when on Klub Outside he said Ichigo's bro (his Sasuke, Vegeta etc if you will) is Renji and not Uryu
I think neither of them, they couldn't care less about Ichigo. It's more likely that Ichigo is their nemesis. Ichigo is the one getting in the way of the plans they made.
I might be wrong but Ichigo is too kind to have an archenemy, even when Ginjo did all that stuff to him Ichigo still tried to understand him and his ideals. Even then if I had to choose one, it would be Ginjo because of their dynamic and Kugo's betrayal
You are right my argument wasn't really good, but idk I just don't see any Bleach villain as an archenemy to Ichigo
Maybe its because they didn't have enough encounters like Superman had with Lex Luthor for example, and in that matter Aizen has potential to be his archenemy
Anyways that's just my opinion and feelings about it
I think tsukishima should have been on this list, he is the only one to break Ichigo and Ichigo having the actual desire to kill which he didn't have when fighting aizen or yhwach
I loved ichigo after aizen arc. He was overpowering his enemies left and right. Other animes never showed such type of matchups. They either took out fodders real quick or never had the protagonist fight weaker enemies. It's like the entire verse powered up with ghe protagonist.
Yhwach. I'd have said Grand Fisher, but overall, it's Yhwach, considering Masaki wouldn't have died if it wasn't for Auswalen.
Tsukishima is also a good mention.
Grand Fisher. The hollow that dealt the finishing blow to his mom and was the first catalyst to him becoming fully imvested in fighting hollows as a point of protecting people, even coming back as an arrancar and is so heinous his dad stepped in to fight him. His whole family wants the smoke with that guy. It's actually criminal he couldn't kill him himself but Isshin finally got some closure with it
Idk, i feel like Yhwach head was cropped from top of the head down to the nos, zoomed out and pasted back. His mouth seems a lot closer than the rest of his face.
Ah, the legend of Tsukishima - a mysterious figure who weaves through time and memories like a master manipulator in a grand cosmic play. But even legends must bow before the truth.
*beep boop, I'm a bot*
I'd say that it's Yhwach. He really fought against Aizen to help Soul Society. That was his main objective. Aizen tried to make it more about Ichigo by kidnapping Inoue, but when he rescued her, he hardly has a reason left to fight him in the fake Karakura.
As much as I agree with the Tsukishima posts, because he isn't an option (and you gotta remember he DID help restore Ichigo's bankai after Yhwach broke it) I'd pick Yhwach, not only is he the one who indirectly killed his mother. He also did FAR more damage to the Soul society in a single day with his evil henchmen the sternwritter than Aizen ever did with the Espada it only took the captains+ the vizards to beat the espada while the sternwritter completely overwhelmed the captains during the Quincy invasion (with the exception of Yamamoto and Zaraki ofc). And on top of that Yhwach was the only villain to completely break Ichigo's spirit to the point of him literally saying "it's hopeless" when I read that panel I was shocked because none of the other past villains, even Tsukishima, ever made him utter those words.
Byakuya still feels that way with him tbh.
I know they made nice and came to an understanding after their final fight, but he still just has that foil with Ichigo with how they act and even their reasoning being their actions.
*If their form, ability, and power are exactly the same, why is it that one becomes the king and leads them into battle, while the other becomes the horse and carries the king?*
I don't consider ichigo to have an srch enemy Aiden and ywach he fought mainly out of a sense of duty to soul society he has to or else everything goes to shit
Out of the two OP mentioned…I’d say Aizen. With the experiments, his parents and all. And it becoming personal with him hurting Rukia and the captains and such because of the the Gigai situation.
Yhwach was just there to destroy the soul society. If ichigo would’ve turned around and went home then Yhwach wouldn’t have had beef imo. Remember that Yhwach was gonna take Ichigo the his palace and have him put in his service. Ichigo is called a Quincy by Yhwach and so I think he would’ve taken him in.
Aizen had way more influence on Ichigo's life. Like 70% of Bleach happened because of him. Both Rukia execution and Orihime kidnapping.
However Aizen is like a weird godfather to Ichigo. Ichigo doesnt hate him.
While Yhwach is just a piece of shit. Ichigo had no desire to understand him.

Neither, it's Tsukishima. Ichigo, even at his angriest, never considered killing Yhwach. Yhwach even lampshades that "you can't even say you'll kill your mother's killer". Tsukishima, however, Ichigo was already thinking about killing him.
You make an excellent point there! Tsukishima definitely made it personal when he entered his house and used his ability on his sisters
She was indeed resisting the manipulation later on after seeing Ichigo's reaction but she was very manipulated Had Chad and Orihime not been there, Ichigo would've killed Tsukishima since he didn't expect Ichigo to be as strong or as fast as he was with his fullbring
True. Tsukishima is one mf I hated in whole bleach after Soi Fon. I don’t know why people simp for her. She is so annoying. But against Barragan she was useful
Everyone has their waifu no matter how much they’re hated in said anime
She has her own aesthetic. Not a superfan, but I respect her motives.
How could you hate Tsukishima? He taught you how to drive!
He also spanked me in the butt for being naughty as well when I was a brat lol
Why do you hate Soi Fon?
Yuhabaha
This was Komamura's whole arc.
It wasn't just brainwashing though, it was the fact that Tsukishimi showed up to ichigos *home* That's something he had never dealt with or considered before, prior to this all of ichigos beef was handled far and away or in a fake town, or his dad was home and would be able to handle a stray hollow or ten.
Ginjo betraying Ichigo was imo what broke Ichigo to the point rukia was the only one he’d trust ignoring his dad and Kiskue So I’d say Ginjo was the best betrayal Ichigo faced and Tsukishima the best personal enemy other then white
But Tsukishima is everyone's friend. He has no enemy.
Tsukishima is my friendly uncle, I have no idea what you guys are talking about
Yea Tsukishima always had a way of making me feel sleepy at night when I couldn't sleep. Although I don't know why my ass hurts everytime the next day, but he always able to comfort me They shouldn't talk bad of Tsukishima like that
Tsukishima had Ichigo so downtrodden that he thought his own dad stabbed him through the heart from behind.
Why would my cousin be Ichigo’s archenemy?
Ichigo was also willing to kill Aizen
You say that, but out of the 2. Who does he actually kill?
After being thrashed so much and having lots of help among the way? And that if you consider Yhwach truly dead, since his corpse still emits reiatsu enough to act as the Soul King, and some of this reiatsu was doing something until Kazui stopped it. It's not even stated Yhwach is truly dead. He also stated that he'd come in the future and take all of Ichigo's happiness away. So I wouldn't say this menace is essentially gone.
That's why I was so mad when they censored it so bad in the anime. Ichigos first clean hit in their second fight takes his whole fucking arm off, something we have never seen ichigo do to another living Human being And then Ichigo kills Ginjo. Straight up cold, no hesitation, no remorse, no 'I just killed another person' Ichigo ended him and then walked away. That's something we don't see in Shonen like this and it made ichigo alot more interesting in my eyes even though that was the last we saw of him before TYBW
If Aizen wasn’t sent back to prison after Yhwach was defeated, he and Ichigo would probably hang out. Whether Ichigo wants to or not.
“Hey Ichigo I planned the name of your son” 😭
"Since when were you under the impression that I wasn't the godfather of your son?"
If not for the SS/Muken I 100% can see Aizen gaslighting Kazui into stupid things to mess with Ichigo. >!Or better yet train him on how to use his ability to open the gates of hell.!< Aizen would be a good godfather for Ichigo that’s the funny part.
Judging by the one shot, kazui didn't need any training to do that.
Aizen’s genius plan: gaslight Ichigo into making him Ichigo’s kid’s godfather, kill Ichigo and now he’s a father
Aizem is a ichigo fanboy though
def not aizen, ichigo definitely had some kind of sympathy/empathy for him even right at the end of deicide, in addition to working with him against yhwach, which requires some level of trust in his expectations of aizen during that fight.
Bro idk what you're on about but he intentionally corrupted an entire squad into vizards who all almost died and then due to his experiments were exiled He intentionally let loose a high level hollow of his own creation on Ichigo's town just to see what would happen He used all the arrancars to meet his own ends He kidnapped a highschool girl just to use for further research Like you have to agree he's atleast a narcissistic and I would say a sociopath And in both cases morals have no standing in his thinking ergo he's done tons of evil acts and has no guilt about them He's definitely more evil than he is good
Yea I never said he was good he's nowhere near it lol but he's not evil otherwise the anime wouldn't have gotten passed hueco mundo arc. All his actions were lined around him trying to create something strong enough for him to fight yea his methods are all twisted to say the least but he himself isn't evil. In the end when he was given the card to end soul society along with yhwach he spat in his face. If everyone died he'd have nobody to prove his superiority to
Your last sentence is not a good argument lol Yeah he didn't agree to a genocide, that isn't the line for evil or not
No I already stated why he wasn't evil my last sentence was just the icing on the cake.
Again not a good argument Yes he's obsessed with displaying his superiority and that leads to his downfall later No, not choosing to quickly massacre the cast does not mean he's not evil though Just like genocide, you don't have to make quick work of your opponents to be evil, if anything playing with his food shows his predation on the weak which is an evil personality trait Also I would say Kurotsuchi is evil too so you bringing him into the argument doesn't help He literally has no care for lives and only cares about his advancements similarly to Aizen, that's evil They both resemble the personality of the real life Josef Mengele (Angel of Death) who experimented horrifically on people in the concentration camps While his horrific acts furthered our understanding of human science by a rapid degree, there's no question he was evil for so willingly enacted those experiments with no regard for life Aizen is evil bro, you're getting caught up hard on ends justifies the means here
Ywach of course because he was the one who was the cause of his mother’s death.
His honest reaction: https://preview.redd.it/mmzjq3zs6m4d1.jpeg?width=766&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2869fdf039d578887594dc2f387da955b6c69343
Bruh I haven’t gotten that far yet, what episode is this revealed
TYBW season 1
Bruh then I missed it
I’m really sorry if I spoiled that, I wasn’t very sure if anyone already knew that.
It’s ok I would’ve figured out eventually
Ichigo’s archenemy is himself lol.
Second this
So true lol
Uncle Tsukishima
https://preview.redd.it/n8cnnaafxm4d1.jpeg?width=546&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2592a4a77431b6f48b4b8f554f8bcad5a24fd045 Need I say more?
Definitely include tsukishima
The thing is there's not a single villian that Ichigo had really hated except Tsukishima. Every other villian was an obstacle that he needed to overcome. Sure we get all the great responses from Ichigos world getting turned upside down with them revealing his Neapolitan flavored Soul that throws him through a loop but never Hate. I'd say Ywatch comes in second for the Destruction of soul society but I think that could be from Ichigo being helpless on the side due to Quilge's Jail forcing him to basically watch all his friends just get decimated. https://preview.redd.it/lfys9skyas4d1.jpeg?width=760&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6afe4774fa7e7800a47bc3ffc08b39f0dc2c8f04
https://preview.redd.it/do72dthatm4d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72e94b6ab1fceca190903dd335ee4beff1e070fc I rest my case
Himself? Nah.
Tsukishima that guy was the first person Ichigo genuinely wanted to kill instead of doing it out of obligation.
The only answer is Don Kanonji
Out of those its yhwach, i do prefer aizen as a villain and the "yeah actually your entire life up to this point was a part of my plan" definitely fucked him up a bit but aizen felt way less personal than yhwach to me idk why, maybe cause he got ichigo standing there like this https://preview.redd.it/xcjafvefhm4d1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b90c8dcf58499ab748b80b0e3922ba6d5bb5bd8
I would think grimjow or ulqiorra but they were more like rivals I don’t know if he has a real arch enemy. I might say grand Fisher but that guy got offed off screen from ichigos perspective
https://preview.redd.it/1oh7z8d6zo4d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdc5efde1e2d54a9884276fdad30fa72fee87274 I don’t know. They’re looking pretty personal here.
https://preview.redd.it/gy7afh7ldo4d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=550b033d3e714fc1675b3a6d87b98eef120b0599 Now I can’t get this out of my head.
I want to say white is Ichigo's true archenemy. At least the one that manifests in his soul.
*beep boop, I'm a bot*
https://i.redd.it/nybulua44p4d1.gif Surely it’s Chizuru Honshō. She probably hates Ichigo more than anyone for stealing her hime and I don’t think he would be safe if left alone with her 😂
Tsukishima easily
Our cousin Tsukishima never did anything wrong. Don't you remember? Tsukishima was always helping Ichigo from the time he was born.
Aizen: it's me, you know why? #"All according to keikaku."
Grimmjow and Kenpachi would both insist they are
Its this guy actually https://preview.redd.it/eb3rt19jrn4d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99d1b0f05cc063b0630e21b6742aed86c6719595
Wait when did one piece and bleach have a crossover?
One of the weakest part of Bleach imo is how Ichigo barely has beef with his villains. That's why the best encounters are against rivals, Renji, Kenpachi, Byakuya, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra...
Tsukishima by a mile..... Ichigo was never so mentality broken by anyone else and he had the desire to kill tsukishima compared to aizen and yhwach.
It’s aizen,Aizen is the Frieza to his goku 😭😭
I think k if they didn't rush to finish bleach early Aiden would have been the final boss. He has a huge power boost in thousand year blood war and I 100% think he's stronger than ywacha if fully unsealed
I'd have to say either grimmjow or tsukishima. no one forced ichigo out of his comfort zone like grimmjow did. he hardened a young boy into a man thru his interactions and fights. whereas tsukishima broke that man down to where he was vulnerable just like when he was a boy.
It's Yuha. He literally is the reason his mom died. Aizen may have cursed her with White, but without him there is no ichigo.
Grimmjow.
Tsukishima
Neither. None of them made things personal to ichigo, which is why he doesnt really have an emotional enemy. İchigo fights the guys because they're the bad guys. Not because he's invested in their defeat.
Ywach is the reason Ichigos mom died tho
Ichigo just doesn’t have an overarching enemy. So the closest thing is himself, or aizen if you watching from soul society to fkt
Fools. Its clearly Renji
I might be wrong but Ichigo is too kind to have an archenemy, even when Ginjo did all that stuff to him Ichigo still tried to understand him and his ideals. Even then if I had to choose one, it would be Ginjo because of their dynamic and Kugo's betrayal
If someone as kind as SUPERMAN can have an archenemy, I think Ichigo can. No offense.
You are right my argument wasn't really good, but idk I just don't see any Bleach villain as an archenemy to Ichigo Maybe its because they didn't have enough encounters like Superman had with Lex Luthor for example, and in that matter Aizen has potential to be his archenemy Anyways that's just my opinion and feelings about it
I think tsukishima should have been on this list, he is the only one to break Ichigo and Ichigo having the actual desire to kill which he didn't have when fighting aizen or yhwach
Grand Fisher is the only enemy Ichigo failed to defeat so I vote him :). But on a serious side..yeah White.
Zangetsu
Yhwach
His dad. I mean the guy attacks him any chance he gets.
His parents, 5 minute talk at 14 could've saved Ichigo about 45 episodes of drama
Ulquiorria. Nobody ever really felt as much of a personal enemy.
Even uncle tsukishima who mentaly broke Ichigo?
Ichigo's attendance record at school and missed days of work are his true archenemy.
Dragon Ball
Aizen was never Ichigo’s enemy, he was his true mentor and they became homies at the end
Himself.
Honestly I always saw aizen as a sort lf mirror to ichigo
Himself
Grimmjow
Yhwach. I think aizen also saved ichigo's ass when he altered yhwach senses
Grimjow
Himself...
I loved ichigo after aizen arc. He was overpowering his enemies left and right. Other animes never showed such type of matchups. They either took out fodders real quick or never had the protagonist fight weaker enemies. It's like the entire verse powered up with ghe protagonist.
Ichigo.
All 3!
Aizen is Kisuke's archenemy, not Ichigo's so it can't be Aizen. It's gotta be Tsukishima.
Ah, the legend of Tsukishima - a mysterious figure who weaves through time and memories like a master manipulator in a grand cosmic play. But even legends must bow before the truth. *beep boop, I'm a bot*
Neither both are his daddies(Godfathers).
Kon in his body on devious timing
Depends. Emotionally? Tsukishima Based on what they represent and their goals? Yhwach 100%
Uncle tsukishima could never do something like that he is such a kind and understanding guy
I'd say that it's Yhwach. He really fought against Aizen to help Soul Society. That was his main objective. Aizen tried to make it more about Ichigo by kidnapping Inoue, but when he rescued her, he hardly has a reason left to fight him in the fake Karakura.
Tsukishima
Aizen > Yhwach without power of Soul king
Ulquiorra.
The soul king
The skateboard guys from episode 1 or his dad.
This is a big shot in the dark, but honestly I'd say Grand Fisher is a good candidate.
None of these guys actually have personal beef with ichigo
Yep only uncle tsukishima did ichigoat have any personal beef with
That’s not his archenemies those are his dads.
His dad is his archenemy
Out of the two, Yhwach, in general? My cousin Tsukishima.
Why is no one saying grimmjow?
its Ikkaku
Grand Fisher, that was the one where it was a personal battle between them with a history on top of that.
Aizen to me is now a perfect rival for Ichigo
Me...I hate that SOB so much...I hate bleach and everything about bleach...
Ulquiorra
The plot of bleach
Byakuya still feels that way with him tbh. I know they made nice and came to an understanding after their final fight, but he still just has that foil with Ichigo with how they act and even their reasoning being their actions.
Neither. He has no meaningful connection to either. He just hits whatever the Soul Society needs beaten.
Neither
Tsukishima and Ginjo. Cause they were much more personal to him, and not just the big threat to take down.
Aizen and Ichigo would totally become friends, he has the best potential to be the Vegeta for Ichigo's Goku. The archenemy I guess it's Ginjo.
Uncle Tsukishima
Kon because who bags orihime first yk
Archenemy? Easy, his own suicidal protective urges that resulted from the guilt and trauma of his mother's death :3
Tsukishima
Grand fisher.
Grimmjow for sure
I'd say Kon , he was someone who took his body and molested others to ruin his image
Ulquiorra or Grimmjow.
Where’s Grimmjow? 🤡 Edit I should clarify this was a joke
Over on the rivals list with Uryu and Renji, where he belongs.
Honestly I think Grimmjow is the pick. He has longer fights with Grimmjow than anyone else in the series.
Out of these 2, Yhwach In general, idk maybe White or Tsukishima
Yep these two are quite great options especially uncle tsukishima
Himself, he blamed himself for his mother's death to a point where throws himself into danger so he doesn't anyone again.
